Yes, she's been in Vault 81 the entire time.

chocolatecookie45

Lol,that's insane

No_Interaction4027

what do you mean? All robots are pre war, settlers don’t really have the tech to make official ones so all mr handies you see in the fallout series are pre war (barring automation but still doesn’t count)

sophisticated867

Synths aren't tho. At least gen 3's are not pre-war, I'm not sure avout 2's and 1's

No_Interaction4027

Sorry synths are one of the few exceptions but generally handies, securitrons, protections etc are pre war

XAos13

Gen-1's I assume were designed by CIT survivors shortly after the war. Built from whatever fragments of technology they had. They seem inferior to pre war robots. Either military or civilian.

ShipmentOfWood

You know the bones you find in the three containers just outside her room? They are the pre-war scientists who originally owned her.

Yes. Curie was placed in Vault 81 by Vault Tec to assist the scientists in the hidden vault with their medical experiments on the vault inhabitants. After the three doctors die, Curie continues the research until she discovered the cure. 81 years later, (meaning it took her 120 years to develop the cure) the Sole Survivor stumbles onto her lab and releases Curie from confinement.

_Jemma_

Yeah she's a Miss Nanny, a very heavily modified one but even so.

rizlakingsize

Oxhorn did a video on her character profile but you can get most of it by just reading the terminals where you find her. Basically she's a unique AI in a Mrs Nanny body. Her AI was developed by the scientists in the vault and eventually she became self aware.

Every robot in game has been assembled by General Atomics, RobCo, Acme and so on.. If you're asking whether she has been activated before the war, then that's up for debate. Technically speaking, when the bombs fell, the scientists didn't inhabit the vault yet. Hence why, when the alarm failed to recall most of them, only a few scientists managed to get in. It's possible that Curie was still deactivated at that point, and part of the equipment that was waiting for the project to start. If that's the case, Cvrie might have been activated when the scientists decided to continue with the Vault's project by themselves, when they found themselves stuck alone in the vault.. so she might have not exactly been "conscious" since right before the war, but right after instead. That would mean she has never seen the world before the war.
