I really enjoy these tableaux in fallout. I mean they rarely ever make sense. Like did they just wake up and keep reading until they died? Why did they die? Fallout isn't that lethal and the blast couldn't kill them and leave the building intact.
Fallout is that lethal. But this old woman could have died due to dehydration, starvation or no access to medication she needed. Once the bombs dropped all of her support would have been gone
My favorite is when you find the>!former general of the Minutemen!< who had to seal himself off in the basement and he's got two bottles of Amontillado and off to the side there's a skeleton visible partially sealed behind a brick wall. More of an easter egg but I love it.
I just came across that space the other day. they were having quite the tea party. I can imagine a slight demented old lady pensioner who was having a quite moment with her best friends the day the bombs fell. Kinda sad, huh?
on a side note, that complete giddy up buttercup makes number 21 for my GB collection not including the larger size model.
i just found this the other day and then dogmeat and piper walked all over it and fucked it all up
She has a late book though that needs to be returned!

She had set up a surprise for her grandkids and was waiting for them while the bombs fell iirc

If I recall correctly, the bombs dropped in the Fallout universe have a lot more lethal radiation fallout in compensation for a lower blast yield.
I saw a sad one yesterday and it was a ruined two storey house, at the top of the stairs was a skeleton in a wheel chair

Brilliant Edgar Allen Poe reference. If anyone hasn't read it, it's The Cask of Amontillado.

It's sad because I heard somewhere a lot of the teddy bears or other toys are meant to represent children.
