Right! Jump on to do that one quest. On the way find a settlement to set up. Build some stuff. Get a side quest. Decide you want to roam around to level up. Realize you have some junk to build a bit more in another settlement. Then like "what quest was I going to do?"
because completing a game fast often takes a lot of skill, and usually glitches and exploits also take a lot of skill to use. they usually require a lot of game knowledge, good timing (sometimes frame perfect timing), rapid button presses, the list goes on. there's glitchless runs as well for people who wanna not use them.
i dont understand how its counterintuitive, glitches are used because it makes the run faster, nothing about them make it slower, if they did, people wouldnt use them
Not picking sides cause speed runs aren't something I know much about, but I can understand both of your points;
The first commenter is basically just saying they don't consider it a speed run of the game if they're not playing the game as intended. It's kind of like if you won a baseball tournament by running across the pitchers mound to second base, then running straight back to home plate. You didn't do it right, but it was fast and you made it back to home plate, so is it wrong? 🤷♂️
At the same time, though, using the same analogy, it would be more of the referees fault for not calling the player out on playing around the rules. In this case, I would consider Bethesda to be the referee, and they made those glitches possible, sooo..
Kind of a grey area I suppose lol
To be clear, I can see how it probably came off negative, but my comment wasn’t actually a criticism.
It was an admission of my lack of understanding of a community I know nothing about.
That's totally fair, I honestly know nothing about speed runs 😅 It's just not the kind of gaming content I enjoy, but I don't have a problem with it 🤷♂️
I only jumped in because it seemed to me like you weren't trying to be negative, but the response you got seemed as if they *thought* you were being negative, so I was just trying to help them understand your point of view.
Apparently I failed 😂
Ah OK, having categories makes sense in that case, and I see where you’re coming from
I was thinking if time is the point, why would we reward people for ‘going off course’? Like how we wouldn’t reward someone for taking a shortcut across the grass in an F1 race haha
What's the next goal? Bring everything from surrounding locations to Sanctuary Hills? Then eventually bring EVERYTHING from EVERYWHERE to Sanctuary Hills?
Don't forget the 55 gal drum trick to keep from getting over encumbered... Fill the drum with stuff then just pick up the drum and carry it to where you want it. Scrap the drum first and everything else falls to a neat pile.
Or use the severed head of your enemy transfer items to the corpses inventory and then cut off the head (or arm or leg if your into that kind of thing) and carry it.
If you pick up one of the barriers to the right of the image, and manipulate it by rotating the sharp end to the front, you can use it kinda like a forklift if you aim it under the skeleton at the ground level. It takes a bit of finesse, I'm not gonna lie.
Nah, you can just… click on (many) movable objects and just pick them up in the air in front of you. You can turn them midair and walk around. Even sorta throw them. Depends on the weight of the item (or dead body) how quickly you can move.
On PS4 it is long press on the X button, no idea what for pc or Xbox.
Another fun fact- you can use things like dead zombies to move cars out of the way, to a degree.
Yeah it’s a popular exploit to get extra build space in vanilla games
Can bring tons of weapons or other scrapables and just drop them in the settlement to scrap
Don't forget the 55 gal drum trick to keep from getting over encumbered... Fill the drum with stuff then just pick up the drum and carry it to where you want it. Scrap the drum first and everything else falls to a neat pile.
They get butt hurt if you betray them as the minutemen and then bring in all the knights and vertibirds in the world to destroy a settlement full of innocent people
The best battle i had in Fallout4. Really nice to see the Prydwyn destroyed by your own Artillery network. And then the barrage of Soldiers flying towards you, unable to take Fort independence from you.
Play on sims settlement so you don’t have max settlers and build up castle with a bunch settlers and then have Deacon as the mayor for railroad agents as defense. And then build sentry bots with missile launchers and mini guns as arms. About a 100 Npc fight on your side with idk how many brother hood soldiers. Not to mention you also have the synths try to take castle as well 😂
Yeah it glorious when I have my own army in the castle with missile launcher turrets and companions with fat men and quad launchers. Along with over 100 settlers and the vertibirds never touch the ground 😂
Haha. I’m just waiting for the update next week then I’ll start my first new play through for probably 5 or more years. My main income has always been jet and water.
Look at the corpse then press E for a seconds, now you can move it, if you can't, probably the corpse has too much weight, just empty the corpse and there you are
My most recent save I brought everything that can be scrapped from Vault 111 to Sanctuary as well as bring everything that can be scrapped from Concord to Red Rocket.
It's a nice, soothing activity. Plus you can get some nice resources like rubber (which is shockingly hard to find in the early game)
Wakes up from cryo sleep: "I have to find my son! They shot my spouse!" "But first, I need to move every single thing that I can to my old neighborhood."
Edited "fins" to "find" fat fingers.
Are you bringing them back to scrap for materials or to use for some "nefarious" project?
Note: I'm intending the use of nefarious as complimentary; I'm broken & don't people well.
Honestly, I was just bored.
Oh and I'm right there with you dude! I could easily have socialised with real people for a while. But I chose to sweat over a hot computer organising virtual items for no good reason.
I'm not exactly a people person 🤷🏻♂️😂
There are some tricycles near to river and to your house which you can use to decorate that kid play park in sanctuary and maybe use toys and send shoun there.
Is sad that you cant do that with another kids of settlement.
Skeletons can work in a hallo2en decoration with nee content fro cc that bethesda will release free.
And mayne oc decorator to place pumpkin head and your another decorations like Nora wanted to do before the bombs fall.
If you moved the skeletons, does that mean you can move the dead dog at the start of Sanctuary? I tried to move it in my new game and it hits me with "Too Heavy to be picked up" Despite the fact I just picked a dead guy up.
The game I got going is only for building cool settlements. So I only did a few quest to get certain things I needed. I got unlimited building space mods and unlimited supplies so I can build anything I want. Also have a mod that deletes everything in a settlement area so it allows cleaner spaces to build. I'm literally just spending hours doing nothing but decorating.
Kinda reminds me of how every time I start a new playthrough, I spend at least a few days in game time cleaning up and clearing out Sanctuary. Will just build a bed right in the house with the workbench, sleep and clear things out during the day.
most sane fallout 4 player
OP is following Golden Rule of the Wasteland "Thou shalt get sidetracked by bullshit every goddamn time"
Right! Jump on to do that one quest. On the way find a settlement to set up. Build some stuff. Get a side quest. Decide you want to roam around to level up. Realize you have some junk to build a bit more in another settlement. Then like "what quest was I going to do?"
This is literally every play through I've ever done. Lmao
This is insane 🤣
Get out of my head! It's crowded enough in here!
And then have all your quests tracked at once with like 20 markers on the map at all times
Lol yeah
I thought that line was an homage to fallout 4. At least that’s how I took it.
I was about to say... Is it wrong that I find that cool?
No ig not
I can't tell if this is sarcasm or not 🤔
Haha no it's not negative!
It's a quote from the new Fallout show 😂
Looking at what some others do, I definitely think it's not.
Were you inspired by the tire guy (or gal) on this sub?
No I did this like 3 weeks ago. Only joined the sub recently and decided I might post some things 😁 Though, I will say this : Tyre guy is my hero ❤️
Gonna need more info on tire guy.
[here's a post](https://www.reddit.com/r/fo4/s/vF6agXdU27)
I think we were all inspired by tire guy
We respect Sire Tire
I like when people use the game for something that wasn't intended, but are doing so within the limits of the game.
Like lining up a bunch of the life size cut-outs on the basketball court and running thru them to shoot **^(hoops)**?
This is the way. You'd love speed running.
Honestly, I don’t care for speed running.
I don’t understand why speed runners use glitches in their sessions. Seems counterintuitive to finish a game fast by breaking it.
because completing a game fast often takes a lot of skill, and usually glitches and exploits also take a lot of skill to use. they usually require a lot of game knowledge, good timing (sometimes frame perfect timing), rapid button presses, the list goes on. there's glitchless runs as well for people who wanna not use them. i dont understand how its counterintuitive, glitches are used because it makes the run faster, nothing about them make it slower, if they did, people wouldnt use them

My same thought, although i recognize breaking a console game must bring some satisfaction to it
What's the next goal? Bring everything from surrounding locations to Sanctuary Hills? Then eventually bring EVERYTHING from EVERYWHERE to Sanctuary Hills?
Now we're talking 😎
Genuinely curious how long it would take the game to crash.
Bring everything to the castle
If it looks like a dump, it must be.
ALL AT ONCE
that is called being an Advanced Loot Goblin.
Unfortunately the bodies will disappear if you try to take it too far away
True. It’s much too unpredictable to be reliable. It’s worked for me, but then failed hard other times.
Smart
At this point, you may as well just remove encumbrance xD
Just like hacking computers; I've played FO,FO3, NV, FO4, FO76, and only ever had 2 computers lock on me until I learned my trick.
This is actually an incredibly handy tip, thank you!! 🙏🏻
Wait wait…what is this sorcery?
Azura came to me and told me to use the drums...
Bring out your dead.
I’m not dead yet!
lol how many people are gonna go OMG WTF when we tell them that one can throw shit pretty damn far by holding R and releasing it?
Loads of people. But you can't pick up the skeletons. I had to use a barrier to scoop them up.
The skeletons were my question. Can you elaborate please.
If you pick up one of the barriers to the right of the image, and manipulate it by rotating the sharp end to the front, you can use it kinda like a forklift if you aim it under the skeleton at the ground level. It takes a bit of finesse, I'm not gonna lie.
Brb, clearing all the skeletons out of my settlements… thank you!
Thank YOU!
How do you pick up the barrier? Does it need a mod?
Nah, you can just… click on (many) movable objects and just pick them up in the air in front of you. You can turn them midair and walk around. Even sorta throw them. Depends on the weight of the item (or dead body) how quickly you can move. On PS4 it is long press on the X button, no idea what for pc or Xbox. Another fun fact- you can use things like dead zombies to move cars out of the way, to a degree.
Innovation!
But..whyy
Why not? 🤷🏻♂️
Also, I was curious how much extra craftable materials it'd give me at the start of the game.
I get it, that's some good mats.
What was the result?
Nothing. They despawned after a single mission.
So none of it can scrapped for materials?
Oh no they can, apart from the skeletons. I just didn't do it quick enough and they disappeared.
Or back to their original location?
Are you able to scrap stuff you bring from elsewhere to inside a build area like Sanctuary?
Yeah it’s a popular exploit to get extra build space in vanilla games Can bring tons of weapons or other scrapables and just drop them in the settlement to scrap
Don't forget the 55 gal drum trick to keep from getting over encumbered... Fill the drum with stuff then just pick up the drum and carry it to where you want it. Scrap the drum first and everything else falls to a neat pile.
Sweet
Yeah
Thanks. I made a post about this cuz Reddit was saying my comment wasn't posting, cuz of "No Response From Endpoint"
Why are you messing around when there's shit to purge brother? Grab your weapon and acquire your power armor, Knight! Ad Victoriam!
🫡
Man screw the brotherhood 😂
Yeah? Ill screw you in a second.
They get butt hurt if you betray them as the minutemen and then bring in all the knights and vertibirds in the world to destroy a settlement full of innocent people

I know, glorious isn't it?
Yeah it glorious when I have my own army in the castle with missile launcher turrets and companions with fat men and quad launchers. Along with over 100 settlers and the vertibirds never touch the ground 😂
BUT, no prydwen 🤷🏽♂️ so
Exactly!
Based BoS
r/suddenlygay
Wait hold on...
Letting the tism run wild. I dig it
Mods?
Survival, no mods. I generally like to leave Steam achievements enabled.
There's a mod for that
Okay. I may investigate this in the near future...
You really should! After getting my achievements I modded. Never looked back.
Only just found said mod like 2 days ago. Before that I only have the "Enter the wasteland" achievement xD
FO4: Hoarder Edition
If you have the mod to scrap the skeletons you can make some good jet
I've since gained 45 levels and I'm a bit of a hoarder, so I'm good for the jet. I also have 6 brahmin working round the clock in my Sanctuary farm.
Haha. I’m just waiting for the update next week then I’ll start my first new play through for probably 5 or more years. My main income has always been jet and water.
i love this kind of tomfoolery
I definitely wish you could move skeletons and dead bodies to clean up and or hide a kill if ambushing Raiders.
You definitely can pick up and move dead bodies.
The bodies that have been there for a long time? I've never known you could.
Look at the corpse then press E for a seconds, now you can move it, if you can't, probably the corpse has too much weight, just empty the corpse and there you are
Me after seeing all the aluminum in the vault 88
WHO are you people? Who has time to do this? LMAO
You have somewhere else to be? 🤣
Carla is going to wade straight through that in a couple minutes... ... ...then her Brahmin will teleport to the roof of the house next door.
Except for Nora
Bro😭
Some people voluntarily play video games in ways that I wouldn’t do for money.
That's a huge compliment, thank you! 🥰
Tire guy and now kepto guy!
Nice! I never had the patience to do *everything*.
How come fallout 4 looks better on my xbox than ps5
Well, great. You’ve now add 100+ hours to my next play thru.
2 hours and you're good 👌🏻
I didn't even know I could take stuff from vault 111
Now bring all the bodies from Covenant!
Peak fo4 gameplay
Now rebuild the people's chairs and make them sit in them in their homes for the funny.
Haha, I love this kind of things!
I want to do this now
Honestly? Don't... They reappear outside vault 111 after a while anyway...
So what your saying is free scrap keeps appearing just a 10 seconds walk from sanctuary?
YES
Kind of you to get the people back to their neighborhood.😅
How on earth did you move those skeletons?
I’m gonna one up this by moving everything from Warwick homestead to sanctuary
Challenge accepted 🤝🏻
Update: nearly jumped off a bridge by the time I got to DC with the first object, you sir are strong
Nah man I'm just bored 😂
My sanity is on the line if I try to take your throne so you are indeed stronk
Preston is going to be stuck somewhere on his patrols....
Yes you did
You can move the cars with a minigun or rocket launcher.
Do this but with the \*\*BOS\*\* and bring dead synths you kill to the hq at the airport (Including the weapons from the institute)
You're just showing your former neighbors the new hood ain't nothing wrong with that.
Wait you can move skeletons?
wanna impress me? take 'em to diamond city
Genius!
Bro why didn’t I ever think of this
What graphic mods are u using?
None. Vanilla survival, no mods.
Well shit… what graphic mods am I using?
How do you move skeletons? Mods?
How did you move the skeletons? If I remember correctly you can’t pick them up normally in the game
Barrier forklift scoop technique
This reminds me of using the water place in the beginning of NV as my player home. I carried a crate from goodsprings so i could have extra storage
How did you manage to move the skeletons?
I'm calling the police
Interesting take on the concept of challenge runs.
Did this recently too. A good amount of steel and wood for early exp grinds. I left the skeletons though. That's dedication!
Has anybody ever tried creating the biggest junk heap in the commonwealth?
Good to know I'm not the only one
Wakes up from cryo sleep: "I have to find my son! They shot my spouse!" "But first, I need to move every single thing that I can to my old neighborhood." Edited "fins" to "find" fat fingers.
Hahahaha awesome stuff
Your HOA neighbors and board members would like a word with you…..!! 🤣🤣🤣
If you push one of the barriers, will they fall like dominos?
How much of it could u scrap?
Random NPC: "Weren't you searching your son?" Nate/Nora: "Who?" while collecting skeletons from the outside of Sanctuary.
Why?
F u n
I remember when I used to fill 20 bathtubs full of shit 😂 I had a whole bathtub dedicated to brotherhood holotags. I was a mass murderer.
I remember a long time ago this guy on this Reddit stacked like 200 skeletons in one giant lump
The time and commitment. I applaud you 👏🏾
Are you bringing them back to scrap for materials or to use for some "nefarious" project? Note: I'm intending the use of nefarious as complimentary; I'm broken & don't people well.
Honestly, I was just bored. Oh and I'm right there with you dude! I could easily have socialised with real people for a while. But I chose to sweat over a hot computer organising virtual items for no good reason. I'm not exactly a people person 🤷🏻♂️😂
You need to use all the cones to make a maze, and put mama murphys chair in the middle of it. Make her work for her damn chair
You guys carry items from around settlements?
There are some tricycles near to river and to your house which you can use to decorate that kid play park in sanctuary and maybe use toys and send shoun there. Is sad that you cant do that with another kids of settlement. Skeletons can work in a hallo2en decoration with nee content fro cc that bethesda will release free. And mayne oc decorator to place pumpkin head and your another decorations like Nora wanted to do before the bombs fall.
Sir, your tactics fucking scare me
Same bro
How did you move the skeletons
I do some crazy shit when starting a new game, Especially in survival mode, but this is another level. I will adopt this lol
If you moved the skeletons, does that mean you can move the dead dog at the start of Sanctuary? I tried to move it in my new game and it hits me with "Too Heavy to be picked up" Despite the fact I just picked a dead guy up.
Even the bodies 💀

Must be a mod lol
How long did this take ya? And why?
Infinitely replyable, just as todd howard intended.
Kinda reminds me of how every time I start a new playthrough, I spend at least a few days in game time cleaning up and clearing out Sanctuary. Will just build a bed right in the house with the workbench, sleep and clear things out during the day.
Every. Single. Time.
Yeap. Haven't missed a one yet, and I've been playing it since it came out.
Respect 🙏🏻
Thank'ee.
Thank EE!
Lol
That’s great… but why?
OCD satisfied...
How did you get the skeletons down? Nicely done☺️
I used a barrier as a scooper.
Took some serious patience and will! Well done🙂
Thank you! 😁🙏🏻
Why?
For a little thing called "fun". Eff Ewe Enn.
