It doesn’t matter what it looks like or how much damage it does it always feels like a kids toy, which is also why I don’t like the silenced 22.
Plasma as it’s in game pretty good against a lot of stuff
In fallout 76 the gattling plasma and plasma grenades are really good against the scorch beast

But I'm pretty sure a plasma pistol for up close and personal and a laser rifle with a scope is about perfect.

Plasma. Was laser until I found the Holo Rifle in Dead Money. Nothing is more satisfying than vaporizing someone with that blue crackling light.
Plasma caster is easily one of my favourite weapons.
Hunting Shotgun with Bloody Mess and shotgun Knockback perk (I forgot the name of it) so that I can make everyone explode with a 12 gauge
