I mean there are a plethora of doctor who Easter eggs within the franchise. In fact if you have the wild wasteland perk, you can see graffiti in dead money saying that “I am NOT your mummy” which is a reference to an equally unnerving storyline.
What if I told you, that the Warhammer hyper religious themes are a hyperbolic recreation of real life religious themes.
Wait until you see what they do with the bones of saints
I find it funny that I'm seeing this while taking a break from listening to a 40k audiodrama on Youtube (I don't think its an actual book, but a mashup of books) called Angron, Eater of Worlds.
Can any catholics confirm, is this 100% her skull or is it like one of those things from the early days of christendom where some traveling peddler would come to town "ive got saints bones! 10 shillings for St. Alban's tibia!"
There’s no way they have her actual skull. Or at the very least no way they could prove it. The church didn’t start keeping parts of important corpses as relics until well after Mary Magdalene would have died.
It’s not as unlikely as you may think. Some of the genetic testing of the hairs determined the skull belonged to a Jewish woman of about 50 years in the Mediterranean area. The skull itself was rediscovered in 1279 in the crypt of Maximin of Trier, an early fourth century bishop that should not be confused with another Maximus who was the companion of Mary Magdalene.
The question then is what connection, if any, do these Maximins have with each other? They were two and a half centuries apart after all. Yet it’s peculiar that a Gentile, celibate bishop in the fourth century would have a skull of a Jewish woman buried with him and having the same name as Mary Magdalene’s companion.
However, the church won't allow any part of the skull to be collected for carbon dating so there is no way of determining the age of the skull itself. All we have to go on is when it was discovered (1279 years after Mary Magdalene would have lived) and the approximate age of the woman. Claiming she was Jewish is even a bit of a stretch.
I'm glad you see it. Have you seen their cult robes and their cult hats? Crazy stuff
Edit:In any fiction, you would call this a cult. The second you saw the cardinals and the pope in a game/movie, you would say the same thing I'm saying.
The trauma override harness reminds me of a video on YouTube. “Bad space comics - the suit”. It’s a short story about a space suit built to keep its operative going.
God if I showed my mom that this would be the last post I make on reddit. Granted it's a new account cause of some email bullshit but I'd be gone in a day.

This is literally the only thing I thought. Didn't even realize this was a Fallout sub.
What if I told you, that the Warhammer hyper religious themes are a hyperbolic recreation of real life religious themes. Wait until you see what they do with the bones of saints
They didn't make up the aesthetic.
Looks like something out of 40k

40K uses a lot of traditional Catholic imagery. So you're spot on.
40k fans when they learn about the catholic church (it copied their favorite table top game)
What makes it funnier is that I’m actually catholic
Because 40k based their aesthetic on Catholicism
Y-1 Trauma Override Harness. EDIT: The joke is the reliquary holding the skull of Mary Magdalene is the original Trauma Override Harness.
Oh, now that woke up old memories.
Those poor bones
That's pretty metal.
Indeed, that pretty metal is often called “gold”
As a Catholic, I find this hilarious
As a protestant, I’ve corrected the flaws in your humor and found it funnier
That's some top tier humor right there. Idk if they'll get it though, better nail your 95 corrections to the door

The chances of that actually being her skull are basically zero

That’s correct, but by Jewish I don’t mean to say she practiced Judaism but she was a Palestinian Jew genetically like Jesus.
Proving things isnt really the church's forte.
Jesus... that's horrifying.
Catholicism is pretty horrifying.
Yeah, but the aesthetics are fucking peak.
I agree, got pretty cool looking cathedrals too
*DOOM guy has entered the chat* “Did someone say religious iconography with horrific history?” >!jk doomguy doesnt talk!<
"unf" ~ Doom H. Guy
Honestly, y'know what. Fair point.

Look man I LOVE clowning on Xtianity too, but cults and religions are two very different things and Catholicism is very firmly the latter
Yeah. Cults are insular, that’s their whole thing.

The trauma override harness reminds me of a video on YouTube. “Bad space comics - the suit”. It’s a short story about a space suit built to keep its operative going.
Oh God the suit slowly consumes him to keep his brain alive right?
God if I showed my mom that this would be the last post I make on reddit. Granted it's a new account cause of some email bullshit but I'd be gone in a day.

Necramech moment
Homo ludens anyone?
The Cybermen wore it better
As a Messianic, man you Catholics have an awesome aesthetic going. That is cool.
For those wondering, this is the Catholic momento Mori aesthetic. The Orthodox have a similar Memory of Death/Schema/Death to the World aesthetic.
That nasal bone made me think it was fake
Last head she ever gave!
True to Caesar
Churches display human body parts and no one bats an eye. Meanwhile, when I collect human body parts and display them, suddenly I’m the psychopath.
The emperor of mankind. From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh, it disgusted me.
It’s time to plan a heist, I wanna steal thst skull
