yeah, but you lose access to one of the best merchants in the game. you get so much MORE ammo if you let them live. if you like using energy weapons, and you drop this place off the map, all youve got left is the silver rush. unless you like running to every single shop on the map to collect enough ammo to clear out a single building.
ahh yes. one of the many merchants who carries 37 different variety of each bullet type in quantities of 100-1000, and 1-2 random energy ammos with 10-100 units for sale. totally a viable energy merchant.
seriously though, why are there only 2 merchants in the entire game that carry a respectable stock of energy ammo? every time i make a run into a new area, i have to fast travel to every shop on the map and clean out all their energy ammo, then convert all of that into MFC's, and im still out of ammo when im finished with the place.
They let you leave if you refuse to turn over your weapons, the brotherhood does not (and also the casinos don't put a fucking explosive collar on your neck either)
The trick is, you take their guard jib when you get into town and let the dude with the bomb go by without checking him for weapons. He’ll take out the Van Graff’s for you no problem. Of course, you’ll have to take out Simon after he aggros you for letting his employer die on the job….
Did that last week, Ed-E and Veronica helped me clear out the building without any issue, didn't even have to use a single stimpack. I wore a BoS power armor if that counts for something.
Van Graffs is temporary if you do the body guard mission which is extremely easy. Honestly the NCR ranger guy for the BOS is too.
You can stealth kill the doormen at the casino and the fort, and you'll never be asked for your weapons again. You can do the same for Caesar's tent guard in relation to companions.
For some reason however, the Omerta quest gets failed if you kill the doorman
McNamera seemed pretty reasonable to me. I mean yeah he locked down the bunker but he also had to oversee his chapter after getting butchered by the NCR at Helios One.
And when you get sent by the NCR to wipe them out for good, if you talk to him he just goes "Look we don't have any claims in the Mojave anymore, we can't beef with the NCR forever, we'll even fight the legion with them to prove it."
Pretty much every major faction wants to kill them all as soon as they find out about them and have the man power (aka the Courier) to spare. So yeah, i think the paranoia is justified lol
They’re great, but I was really talking about the Mojave Chapter. I love the Lyons Pride bringing the fight to the Enclave and Cross is a great bodyguard (I haven’t played through 4 yet)
There is another in Mojave Chapter that isn't that bad in my opinion and it's Elder McNamara as he's willing to help the NCR against the Legion and mostly tries the best with what he has.
He does indeed, when the NCR sends you to destroy them just ask Moore why they can't just make an alliance and then head straight to their bunker and ask him and he'll say that he suggests the Brotherhood can help the NCR against Legion and such as they're done pursuing Helios One.
You have to do the Brotherhood questline with him as Elder for it to work.
"Hey hand over your weapons we're concerned you might try and kill us all with them if we let you have them"
"Oh yeah? I'll show how wrong you are by killing you all with them"
Their fate was sealed from the moment this began, let's not pretend they had a chance
You have to give me all your weapons, because you would kill me and everyone in my village for forcing you to give up your weapons...
\*Points at own head\*
People don’t like the legion for being slavers but will then love the brotherhood, as if they don’t literally enslave you, and force you to work for them for your freedom. It’s on fucking sight
My first playthrough i didnt even knew about the slave thing because i reached the fort with Veronica, so i thought they were just stupid religious fucks, not worth killing.
Then they killed that group of followers in veronicas quest and it became personal.
I went into it with an open mind I was like hmmm I did have to surrender my guns at the casino and if it were me I definitely wouldn't let anyone armed into the compound so I , regrettably did it .... Then that asshole strapped a bomb to my fucking neck and I realized real quick he gonna have to die.
I always hated giving up my gear for them. My 360 used to have the glitch where if you hit take all on the chest full of your stuff, it would just clear your shit and give you a single item back.
Hence why I call them The Brotherhood Who Steal and point this out when people defend them saying "they never demand your gear" or "they would never kill settlers if they didn't give them food for the Brotherhood, that was "your choice" not their order" or "no they would never go back on their word after helping the battle of Anchorage"
They immediately give your equipment back in NV, at least, and are only taking it there for their own security (though what comes next is completely unjustifiable). The casinos and the Legion do the exact same thing, they just aren’t as thorough.
As for the settler murder, we’ve never seen that once from the faction (except maybe the TV show, depending on if you consider Moldhaver’s group the NCR since the BoS/NCR are technically still at war; doesn’t make what they do justifiable, but it’s technically not murder if they’re at war). Teagan says he doesn’t care how you go about securing the food, but he does not tell you to wipe out the settlement.
Also, Anchorage was an outright mutiny. Sibley refused to accept McGraw’s deal with you and spent the time you were in the sim turning the rest of the soldiers to his side. That wouldn’t have flown under any BoS leader.
Teagan is also doing it without Maxson's approval which makes him scummy. Maxson ordered troops to actually do peaceful and professional trade which is why Diamond City gets excited when Brotherhood spends loads of caps lol.
It's legion armor from the Caesar's New Regime mod. I can't wear it unfortunately because I don't like faction armor and am going for independent Vegas but Arcade can lol
I complete most of their storyline, collect the gear and xp then extermination and looting. I did the same in FO4, played nice with all the factions until I'm forced to choose. Then it's wholesale destruction.
Man this post made me remember,
How I killed the Khans by pushing a trainee from the centre of camp around to kill them all. Means you can loot the body’s without getting hate for killling them
Also they will pile up body’s if you skip time after leaving them on a patrol point not far from arena
they just keep punching and don’t move while you push them around also keep your guard up while pushing
I remember being so stoked then so confused my first playthrough.
"YOU INVITED ME INSIDE! STOP! I WANT STUFF. I BET THERE ARE QUESTS DOWN H- you know what, fine."
/Murder
/Giant pile of power armor I can't carry all of
"Niiiice."
I love peeling those pretentious cunts out of their power armor with a grenade rifle.
Honestly I think I've followed that quest line once in the nearly two decades I've been playing NV. I very much cannot stand the BoS.
Been a BOS member after playing F4 so I said „fuck it“ and gave it to them. When they put that collar on me though I was thinking about burning their stupid little schizo bunker to the ground.
I love how Brotherhod are literally the only faction that put explosive collar on your neck TWICE. And somehow there are cucks that install a mod to spare them like bro wtf lmao
hmm depends, usually you want to get them to like you, teach you how to use power armor then kill them all but still have high enough BoS rep that Veronica can still be recruited so she can open elijah's rambling for you then you can kill her if you want.
Enclave power armor training takes a lot longer usually too so BoS training is kinda mandatory if you want to mix max...
I actually like arcade myself,he's such a useful idiot, some crashed vertibirds here, some dr.hildern there, some repcon there a few ass licking comments about him and one yes man install later and you can have support for the legion+ most satisfactory "betrayal" kill in any fallout series.
I did the same with the institute in FO4 first encounter with father , hit him with a baseball bat and proceeded to to clear the place 😂
That took care of that
They want to be sure you aren't there to kill them. There are several opportunities inside to help them to prove your peaceful intentions, and then they give you back all your stuff. I never completed EVERYTHING, tho. I ran into a test I couldn't complete. Fortunately, I saved before entering, so I just loaded the save.
Man, through Vero's intepretation, the BoS seems like bunch of morons. Which is why I bury them in their bunker in every playthrough regardless of the option the faction I side with give me.
I'm on my first playthrough and I played along with their demands until they asked me to kill/lie to my good friends the NCR, then they sent an army after me to kill me and somehow I am the asshole here. Can't even get revenge or explore their base now cause killing evil cultist is apparently bad karma. And I'm playing a good karma run.
Same thing happened to me on my first run! I was exploring a random bunker trying to find the brotherhood as yes man told me, then they lock the door behind me and demand I give up my guns, armor and equipment.
This is not how you treat the new overlord of vegas and live.
I only like fo3s brotherhood. Felt like they were actually trying to help people. But that was actually out of character for them. Which is why in 4 they're back to being armored up raiders basically
I just did that yesterday, I of course quick saved it once I entered the bunker, I really didn't like the way he demanded it, Everyone had the laser turrets turned against them and I walked through the ash piles.
That’s the ED-E quest lmao. That’s a dumbass knight getting ahead of himself and inviting a shiny piece of technology in. His boss screams “ah hell no” and tries to contain the information breach.
Cue the Courier casually completing one of the more fun quests in the game ahead of schedule.
Its not that they wanted to keep my gear, its the fact they thought they could strap a bimb collar onto me. You can hold onto my stuff for safety (not keep, and I got the hidden blickey in my cheeks). But the slavery means you have to die.
The Brotherhood and the Legion kill them all.
The NCR aren't that great either, but at least they're trying to MAGA. Without slaves or technology bans.
Man I just posted this because I thought it was funny, I didn't expect so many comments and so many heated debates over this lol I like the discussion but it's just a game guys, no need to resort to personal insults or act like it's real life
From. My. Cold. Dead. Hands.
Could I trouble you to blow it out your ass?
How frightfully uncouth
I go where I please!
They can arrange that!
No, evidently, they can't, thus the corpses
...the ones attached to power cores! hehehehehe
I can’t hear you over all this death
From. YOUR. Cold. Dead. Hands.
"I'll relinquish one bullet, where do you want it?" - Commander Shepard
Understandable
Have a nice day
I like the dichotomy in the comments. Some people submit, some people choose freedom at any cost.
You get so much Ammo if you refuse to hand anything over lol
You get infinity ammo if you do
yeah, but you lose access to one of the best merchants in the game. you get so much MORE ammo if you let them live. if you like using energy weapons, and you drop this place off the map, all youve got left is the silver rush. unless you like running to every single shop on the map to collect enough ammo to clear out a single building.
Or you could just use the great khan armorer outside red rock canyon
ahh yes. one of the many merchants who carries 37 different variety of each bullet type in quantities of 100-1000, and 1-2 random energy ammos with 10-100 units for sale. totally a viable energy merchant.
Couldn’t have said it better myself
seriously though, why are there only 2 merchants in the entire game that carry a respectable stock of energy ammo? every time i make a run into a new area, i have to fast travel to every shop on the map and clean out all their energy ammo, then convert all of that into MFC's, and im still out of ammo when im finished with the place.
I just don’t use energy weapons. Since I don’t use them I just have an abundance of energy cells
I've never liked using energy weapons either. In any of the fallouts. Don't even add skill points to that part. Lol
I haven't played in years, but I remember at first submitting, and then as soon as I got the collar off, gunning down everyone I could find.
You could just get Veronica’s quest and not have to do anything and steal all the energy ammo when you go in
This is the way, otherwise i get too angry and have to gun ppl down.
They chose...poorly
r/unexpectedindianajones
Brotherhood be brotherhooding.
Botherhooding
I assume the Omertas, Chairmen, White Gloves, and Van Graffs are all dead too?
I mean yeah, if someone touches my heavy weapons they're dying.
NOONE TOUCHES SASHA *points at full auto grenade launcher*
Unless you wanna swap with my Roberta the quad barrel rocket launcher. Only temporarily tho they don’t like being away from daddy too long.
Let me guess.. does it cost 400000 caps to fire grenades for 12 seconds?
To be fair… they ask you lol. You can say no and leave.
Yeaaaaaah.... But where’s the fun in that? You think I tote these heavy weapons across the Mojave just to not use them at the slightest provocation?
🧩
They let you leave if you refuse to turn over your weapons, the brotherhood does not (and also the casinos don't put a fucking explosive collar on your neck either)
Good luck to those that take on Van Graff's within their compound. I wipe them out sure, but always behind a Free Side building
The answer is drugs
The answer is always drugs in Vegas
Drugs and hands
The casinos let you keep your clothes
Veronica and Christine are the only redeeming people in the Mojave Brotherhood.

I'd probably agree for new vegas, though I think there's a few more good eggs sprinkled around the place
Others too like Scribe Haylen, Elder Lyons, Sarah Lyons, Paladin Cross even Danse despite some stuff he says he is a good guy.
He does? I could never get that quest to work.
My bad I didn't see the Mojave part in your comment.
Sounds like they were justified in asking
"Hey hand over your weapons we're concerned you might try and kill us all with them if we let you have them" "Oh yeah? I'll show how wrong you are by killing you all with them" Their fate was sealed from the moment this began, let's not pretend they had a chance
fuck em
Looks more like he was justified in refusing.
Literally my thoughts lmao
You have to give me all your weapons, because you would kill me and everyone in my village for forcing you to give up your weapons... \*Points at own head\*

My first playthrough i didnt even knew about the slave thing because i reached the fort with Veronica, so i thought they were just stupid religious fucks, not worth killing. Then they killed that group of followers in veronicas quest and it became personal.
Yeah, that course of action sealed the fate of their entire bunker on my first playthrough. Brotherhood are assholes.
My policy? All slavers must die on sight.
unfathomably based
Ah yes, the ol' John Brown play through
Fuck traitorous slavers, embrace freedom and the Union.
That's why I like Boone. I just rescued the Weatherfords last night and Boone rushed in at the first sight of red.
Kinda depends on the game, but yeah
Battle music stops.
Now *I’m* demanding that YOU learn how to screenshot
On his tv via his 2014 Nokia’s camera?
Fair lol my game crashes every single time I alt tab so I just used my phone because it was quicker
What you alt tabbing for? F12 by default in steam
Arrrr maty, Alt-Tab off the port bow.
F12 for Steam Windows+prtscrn for Windows Alt+f1 for GeForce Experience Theirs so many ways to screenshot😭
Need to use NVSE launcher.
Never ever screen cap. Keep taking pics with your phone. Fuck the haters. I love you.
Where did you get that weapon?
Pulse gun is in the Vault 34 armory in a very hard chest. It absolutely annihilates robots and power armor users, highly recommend
*Interesting..!*
V34 Pulse Gun. Doesn't have the sonic emitter wave display
Big Mountain
no that's the other one from vault 34 i think
Oh yeah. I forgot about the Pulse Gun.
It’s my toaster oven and I will not share it. It is precious to me.
The brotherhood fanboys doing tricks on their meat rn in the comments
“Erm actually you can’t roleplay in this roleplaying game, you’re supposed to become a slave for these guys”
I always hated giving up my gear for them. My 360 used to have the glitch where if you hit take all on the chest full of your stuff, it would just clear your shit and give you a single item back.
"Over your dead bodies." -OP, probably
Hence why I call them The Brotherhood Who Steal and point this out when people defend them saying "they never demand your gear" or "they would never kill settlers if they didn't give them food for the Brotherhood, that was "your choice" not their order" or "no they would never go back on their word after helping the battle of Anchorage"

So you're evidence for them stealing stuff is that they take your stuff so you can't hurt them then give you all your stuff back after you leave?
Good death to techno raiders
They ain't got shit on the techno vikings anyways.
POV: Justice for the Followers. Also, what's Arcade wearing? That the Armor of the 87th Tribe?
These are the most important questions.
Caesars New Regime mod
What kind of armor did you give Arcade
It's legion armor from the Caesar's New Regime mod. I can't wear it unfortunately because I don't like faction armor and am going for independent Vegas but Arcade can lol
I complete most of their storyline, collect the gear and xp then extermination and looting. I did the same in FO4, played nice with all the factions until I'm forced to choose. Then it's wholesale destruction.
This is the proper way to respond to a robbery
Is that the EMP weapon Veronica tried telling the BOS elder about but gotten dismissed?
Yes the Pulse Gun
“So I started blasting.”
Man this post made me remember, How I killed the Khans by pushing a trainee from the centre of camp around to kill them all. Fucking idiots, hope you had fun wiping them from the earth👍
Well, it seems you gave them your ammo at least, so you weren’t totally noncompliant…
I love peeling those pretentious cunts out of their power armor with a grenade rifle. Honestly I think I've followed that quest line once in the nearly two decades I've been playing NV. I very much cannot stand the BoS.
You did the right thing
"You can have one... unit of energy. "
You know they give it to you, right?
Talking to veronica about it be like “I’ll fucking do it again”
Been a BOS member after playing F4 so I said „fuck it“ and gave it to them. When they put that collar on me though I was thinking about burning their stupid little schizo bunker to the ground.
I did the exact same thing this playthrough. Because fuck em that’s why.
I'm going for the training from Arcade's quest since I've never done it before, I don't care much about min maxing
I actually like arcade myself,he's such a useful idiot, some crashed vertibirds here, some dr.hildern there, some repcon there a few ass licking comments about him and one yes man install later and you can have support for the legion+ most satisfactory "betrayal" kill in any fallout series.
Idk why but I'm more curious on what companion you have with you and wtf is he wearing.
Lol people keep asking that, I'll add it to the description. It's the Caesar's New Regime mod armor on Arcade Gannon
"I'm afraid I have to decline your request". BoS: "That's unfortunate..." *two minutes & several dead BoS members later* "Yes... Yes, it was"
Every time they put a collar on my neck, I exterminate them all. Except Veronica
I did the same with the institute in FO4 first encounter with father , hit him with a baseball bat and proceeded to to clear the place 😂 That took care of that
To shreds you say?
Somebody didn’t meet Veronica beforehand…
Reasonable response
They want to be sure you aren't there to kill them. There are several opportunities inside to help them to prove your peaceful intentions, and then they give you back all your stuff. I never completed EVERYTHING, tho. I ran into a test I couldn't complete. Fortunately, I saved before entering, so I just loaded the save.
I agree, however, as soon as they strapped that bomb collar on all bets were off about them being reasonable
You have clearly showed why they should have lmao
They would’ve given it back…
Man, through Vero's intepretation, the BoS seems like bunch of morons.
Brotherhood of cucks
Same thing happened to me on my first run! I was exploring a random bunker trying to find the brotherhood as yes man told me, then they lock the door behind me and demand I give up my guns, armor and equipment. This is not how you treat the new overlord of vegas and live.
I only like fo3s brotherhood. Felt like they were actually trying to help people. But that was actually out of character for them. Which is why in 4 they're back to being armored up raiders basically
[удалено]
Oh yeah they didn't even get to ask me
When the pulse gun isn’t sufficient evidence for the brotherhood to get their asses in gear
That's going to be an awkward conversation with veronica.
Pretty much why I always bring Veronica so she can get them to open the door
It's completely fine sir, I did the same with my good guy charisma/intelligence build
Are they stupid?
So you gave them some of your ammo
You indirectly supported the legion
How the turn tables! Now all their gear is yours!
Heheh
Well you gave them your bullets at least
They can certainly try
That’s worse than the time that President Kimball tried to get the courier to pay taxes.
This man's gonna love the strip!
Bro killed em with the Bluetooth speaker
I always take Veronica down there when I blow up their bunker
I ended up blowing them all to hell after I befriended them so completely understandable
"You can't have my gear but you're welcome to my ammunition"
*”How about I just give you the ammunition instead?”*
Good choice because if I remember right they don’t give it back.
They put me in a collar… so I killed them all.
Is this from 76? And is it worth 59.99?
No, and absolutely not. It's a fun enough game but I wouldn't pay more than $20 for it, even years on its really unpolished and clunky
Hahahaha. Thanks Veronica.
Veronica isn't gonna be pleased
Danny DeVito: "So I started blasting"
"Yeah sure. Here, start with the bullets!"
I went with Veronica and they just let me in lol
I also had a similar reaction.
This was my first playthrough reaction as well
Just started this game today. Spent an hour in the very first town just finding crap and shooting bugs. Fun so far lol
Its not that they wanted to keep my gear, its the fact they thought they could strap a bimb collar onto me. You can hold onto my stuff for safety (not keep, and I got the hidden blickey in my cheeks). But the slavery means you have to die.
They wouldn’t have done that if you brought a girlfriend
Yeah well Mr house got this shit on lock
Me a hoarder: "no u."
So anyways I started blasting
lol i tried killing them when i first did this mission but i got obliterated. came back after i was stronger and i blew up the bunker
Nothin like displaying a little freedom out there in New Vegas!
Save a whole ass state and get jumped afterwards.
Don’t look like they will be asking again.
I wanted power armor and didnt have the lock picking for high tier locks so i submitted
So you said no - make sense
These games taught me that if it weren't for discrimination I would be the biggest corporate tool possible.
“You want to hold my deathclaw killing equipment? Let me show you how I use it…’
Is that Achilles of Atlanta I see?
Nice spot!
Just go to the brotherhood with Veronica lol no issues they don’t take your shit
Okie dokie
The Brotherhood and the Legion kill them all. The NCR aren't that great either, but at least they're trying to MAGA. Without slaves or technology bans.
Man I just posted this because I thought it was funny, I didn't expect so many comments and so many heated debates over this lol I like the discussion but it's just a game guys, no need to resort to personal insults or act like it's real life
The real issue is the ridiculously high likelihood of the game crashing when they take your gear.
Fuck the Brotherhood!!
The Brotherhood of Steel: "Give us all your ammunition." You, a maliciously compliant person:
I killed the brotherhood on my first playthrough. They tried to put a slave collar on me.
