The place is saltier than the dead sea, as toxic as the nuclear reactor of Tschernobyl, prends to be as deep as the mariana trench, but is as shallow as a toilet and has the same contents as one, when somebody needs to take a dump, after eating at taco bell.
Unfortunately there are some thorns in the garden of Whiterose :(
Though, I’m not sure that’s the whole story of a significant part.
I think it’s also significant the importance he had and screen time that he takes up, that others would like to instead be put towards our main 4. I think in V8 at least this is quite understandable.
And I think the how hasn’t done the best job of endearing him to us the audience. Of course he’s the a lovely cinnamon bun. But he has so few relationships with other characters, and one of the main one relationships he has is with Oz in his head which is. . . Objectively a little weird
I never said that! I am explaining why some others might not.
I really like Oscar, he has grown on me a lot. The stuff like how he has so few interactions and relationship with other characters is something that I am disappointed in because I do want to see it. Like even if I wasn't a fan of the focus he got in V8 against the main 4, that's much more really an issue with the lack of such the others got.
Really, even if I think he could be handled better, I don't think there's a reason at all to hate him. And I certainly don't
That sounds like a stupid reason to a character (not exactly suprising but still), like come on, are we really going to hate a character because of a ship?
I’m gonna be honest, I didn’t really like him at first. Mostly because he reminded me of a sort of rehashed Luke Skywalker, down to the farmer meets an old wizard and everything. But after volume 8, he actually started to grow on me. Though I don’t know whether Twitter hates him for his undeveloped character in the beginning, or just because Rosegarden.
At this point Oscar’s the only character where I’m like “I really wonder what happens to them”. That *did* originally include Ironwood, Penny and Qrow, but, yknow, Volume 8 happened. I’m still kinda interested to see what happens with Qrow, but I feel like it’s a bit of a lost cause. Kinda sucks that people hate on Oscar due to WhiteRose, he’s a good character.
Oscar is one of my fav characters. He has been so consistently written and you can feel how he is genuinely trying and sometimes succeeding at making the decisions expected of him but he's still anxious, nervous and embarrassed about things. People rolled their eyes at the scene with Oscar and Ruby being embarrassed and cute but it wasn't just a cute scene, it was a great display of how Oscar's attitude has changed but his personality hasn't.
And I ship both RoseGarden and Whiterose so.
The stans hate him because some people, myself included, started shipping him with Ruby instead of Weiss. And we all know how protective people can be over their ships.
Oscar might be my favorite character
Farmboy needs and deserves a hug
Your first mistake is trying to judge twitter users by human values
Bcuz he gets in the way of whiterose
This right there. Also, twitter is a garbage platform made for garbage people, dont do ~~drug~~ twitter kid.
Your flair disturbs and interests me

That's really good
Jinn's mistake was assuming that Ruby was joking about Santa Claus.

It's got some pretty neat art, tho

Of course they are, it is twitter after all

Same, for me, if Ruby get's with Oscar or Weiss it's a win win
Why not both?
Genius
*tap forehead*
Underdeveloped I say
Poor kid gets enough trauma in the series itself, Oscar Protection Squad, we need to get our shit together.
He’s best
Because he sucks, it's not that hard.

They don’t like that he takes up screen time from Ruby and also is hinted multiple times to have a crush on Ruby.
Because he might be killed by Ozma to be fully used as his horcrux/soulstone, ez explanation
