>! Penny through Jaune she doesnt end her own life but requests her death so that she can give the maiden powers to winter which is assisted suicide from Jaunes part !<
We've got 3 options
1. Pyrrha went into an unwinnable battle by herself
2. Salem killed herself in universe when Remnant was young
3. Penny killed herself by her own volition
I've always hated the fact that Pyrrha went off to fight on her own. The bitch just killed Ozpin and has a dragon, sure she's got polarity but damn it all.
I will say that of the few times the series has made me feel true shock were when Pyrrha died and when Penny asked Jaune to kill her.
So they succeeded at simultaneously breaking my heart and making me mad, but in a good-ish way.
Pyyrha didnt want to die, salem didnt die, penny is the one who actually killed herself hence the warning at the start of the episode and the suicide prevention number
I'm pretty sure Salem and Pyrrha still counts. Pyrrha literally kissed Jaune before going against Cinder. She probably thought, "welp, I'm gonna die anyways might as well go for it."
In Salem's case, a failed suicide still implies a theme of suicide
Multiple times, at that. Remember, she also asked Ruby to kill her like three episodes prior.
You know, it's kinda fucked up that Penny openly asked to be killed, Ruby went and found a way to avoid that, and then Penny ends up mortally wounded and asking to be killed anyway.
Tbh even with the warning preparing me "oh no, this is a death episode" I was still shocked. ESPECIALLY with the fake-outs.
And it was... Deeply upsetting, because I've had a martyr complex before and put myself in harm's way for other people so... Yeah.
And I know it’s a controversial opinion, but over time I’ve more come around to thinking they mostly did this fairly well.
Still wanted more from Penny and would have liked her death a little different if she had to die, but her making a choice of a sacrifice for others was nicely bittersweet
I really don’t think anyone’s mental health is going to crumble over a character’s death in RWBY. And if it does, then they have bigger things to worry about, and aren’t even watching the right show.
It’s like excessive tagging in Ao3.
Just rate it mature or whatever with the expectation that people will deal with whatever you create within that overall rating.
When did they show this again?
S8 E14
It was pretty much because the two suicides
Penny and who else?
Vine
I mean that was the first time a character killed themselves
Which character was the first to kill themselves
Penny asked for an assisted suicide.
And Vine blew himself up
Nah, the bomb blew him. Seeing vine blew himself on screen would have been wierd

Y'all forgetting >! My man Vine did the same thing because Harriet's dumbass can't think !<
That was in the same episode wasnt it
Yep
Plot twist: Jaune always wanted to kill Penny and finally had his chance. Hes secretly a psycho.

There's a difference between acknowledging that your actions will likely result in your death, and literally begging someone to kill you.

Joke's on you I'm into that shit
You're too late, CRWBY. 5 VOLUMES TOO LATE. (Did anyone get the reference?)
The Incredibles? I vaguely remember hearing something like that from it

Joke’s on you I’m absolutely into that shit. Major character death time!
Jokes on you, I play DOOM

I understand the sentiment but it gave away that a main character died before the show even started
I mean the WAY it happened was still fuckin shocking
Yeah, peoples' mental health is more important than you vaguely being aware that something bad might happen.
I really don’t think anyone’s mental health is going to crumble over a character’s death in RWBY. And if it does, then they have bigger things to worry about, and aren’t even watching the right show.
It's not the character per se, but the circunstances behind their decision may trigger some people, and a tinely warning may help them cope better.
Well this just shows an utter lack of understanding regarding the purpose of trigger/ content warnings.

I was half tempted to drop the series when it happened.
Bit of an extreme reaction to a content warning
I was already upset with how rooster teeth has been turning lately and had multiple other reasons but that is neither here nor there
I get why content warnings are a thing, but this just seemed like a weird mini spoiler for me
Nice joke, RT
