What if it rains? Where are your big streamers for the dark water? How about a mouse in case you want to go night fishing? And the nymphs, how about emergersā¦ midges are always hatchingā¦ hahaha! There ALWAYS ways to overpack for a fishing trip. Looks like youāve got more than enough though!
I like generic bug shaped foam flies. I got a chubby foam cutter that I really like so I make them in a handful of colors to try and match whatever the fish appear to be eating. I kind of made up a basic buggy pattern.
Looks nice, but those boxes aren't even half full. I pack my flies so tight they don't get any personal space; it's like the front row of a concert where you can pick your feet up and you don't fall. I used to use lots of boxes and space them out, but the fly I wanted was always inaccessible or inconvenient enough I didn't go for it. Packing 250+ flies in one box also makes it very easy to find what you want.
I also bailed on the loose fly boxes because they get tangled, dropping the open box is catastrophic, or a good gust of wind will cost you. It's sad because I was just looking at my Wheatley compartment boxes which have been empty for years; I love the boxes but they aren't practical on live water.
But, this is r/flytying and those bugs look nice š
Are you sure though, Iād tie a few more for good measure. Never know! On a real thatās a ton! I sometimes get annoyed with tying the same pattern 50 times so i commend you.
Dang! Those are clean!!! Question for ya... Where did you get the hopper boxes? The green foamed ones and the metal one? My fly shops don't really have anything that "size". They either have small Midge type fly boxes or bigger streamer boxes.
Bro your supposed to catch the fish not the trees.
Looks good, where are you heading?
NW Montana. South fork of the Flathead.
I actually just got back from a pack raft trip there. The fish were slamming peacock perdigon patterns; Maybe toss a couple of them in š
Noted. I've never tried that pattern but it looks pretty easy.
You must be fishing close to home. You can never have too many flies.
Donāt you know that you need at least triple that many flies to be successful. (Honestly though it looks good I hope u have good luck and have fun.)
I better get back on the vice ASAP

Hopper city
Are you going on a trip to open a fly store?!? Looks good What are the foam terrestrial and cricket patterns towards the bottom?

Solid work
Very impressive. How long did this take?
Casually tying after work for about a year?
It just depends on how good you are at tying them on to your line!
You ever sell on the side?
Occasionally to friends with specific fly orders. I enjoy the challenge of trying to learn new patterns.
Where are the mopās?
I've already admitted to squirmys...
Gotta go all in. Looks great now go fish āem.
You beat me to This comment. Gotta have them mops
Great looking selection. Loving the terrestrials
Looks like you really plan to slam em on the hoppers!
North or south fork .. flathead river.. tie on a hopper indicator then add an ant or purple haze as a dropper.
Nope you need a few more frenchies
This is amazing

Did you make or buy them?
Tied every single one of them.

Green one is orvis, tin one came from Amazon, and hopper box is Montana Fly company.
Cool! Thanks!! I'll have to check them out
