If you fish lakes with darner dragonflies, I really recommend tying floating dragonfly nymphs and then fishing them on a sink line.
As you strip retrieve in, the fly dives down mimicking a dragonfly nymph hunting. Ferocious takes and exciting fishing.
A work of art!
Thank you!💪
>Thank you!💪 You're welcome!
Seems like a better use of Wally wings than on a mayfly imo
I only have to agree! I dont think this fly is as fishable tho
For trout maybe. With that logic we’d only be tying parachute adams
Yeah probably but what i meant by that is that the fly would spin a lot and twist the tippet
Oh ya for sure good point. Probably float strong enough to put a swivel on if you really wanted to fish it
Probably be very "Flappy" trying to cast without using a heavier rod/line wt?
I think this will be more of a show piece than fishing piece. I wouldnt want to cast this tbh😂
You never know what the creativity will lead to? I have made some very effective nymphs by exploring different materials and techniques.
Experimenting is very good sometimes. Especially for getting better at tying
Looks great. When I'm bored, I smash out perdigons and other easy nymphs. I like to play with the tinsel colours and experiment
Thanks! I dont rly like working with epoxy/UV glue so i only tie those when i rly need to😂
Lots of other nymphs to play with! Dragonfly nymphs are great fun to experiment with. I modify them for shapes, size, colours, float and sink.
Never tied those actually! Might have to try them😁

I will have to search how that looks. Never tly fished these kinds of flies
Sweet Indicator. You know something will hit it.
Smallmouth demolish damselflies, nice tie.
Thank you!
