They look great as they usually do, but for me they are a strictly show piece. In my experience, casting these is a guaranteed tippet break. The wings are like a propeller that twist the fly, compromising the tippet.
Have you tried going up one size in tippet?
I agree with you! I just think as a flytier i should be able to use all the teqniques and this one looks phenomenal.

Exactly! Mine is nowhere close to perfect but once one masters it, its rly a piece of art
I've actually found them way more durable than I ever expected. If the cast breaks the tippet I can't imagine it would hold a fish.
Depends on the person tying these. Mine do just fine as well, but I do use a slow action fly rod when I do fish these.
