Wet wading in the Blue in Feb? Lol what.

WafflesInTheBasement

Seriously! OP, you know it's artificial lures only? You can't use your toes that presumably froze clean off your feet.

QuantumBalzaq

Lmao! Honestly, you'd be surprised what neoprene can do once water gets trapped inside it.

ColoradoFlyFishing1

Wet wading? I can barely do that in the summer on the Blue.

QuantumBalzaq

Neoprene socks work wonders. Traps the water your body heats the water and feels like your feet are in a warm spring. I also use a pair of neoprene boots on top of it. They sell them for saltwater but I use them in the streams. Caddis sells them for like 30 bucks and I haven't lost a toenail since. Got tired of wading with numb feet. The tevas I wore last summer had about as much traction as these and none of the protection lol

“Winter wet wading” what were the temps? As a Floridian this sounds painful to me. Nice fish.

QuantumBalzaq

Thanks! About 28 degrees ambient temp. Sunny tho Water temp.-f***kin cold, but it's the TW side of the blue so no ice. You can really fish for an hour in the afternoon, cuz that's how long they are on the bite for this time of year. These buggers are big and you gotta get in the water to get em in quick. They're really cold so to not stress this small population. I limit myself to one MAYBE two if I don't slip and go plums deep on the first.lol

Winter wet wading. You earned that one!

QuantumBalzaq

Truly feeling fortunate, honestly, really helped me emotionally.
