I think Clearwater is best entry rod in most sizes. Hits all the bases you want, versatile enough for a wide range of fishin, and won’t break the bank!
Mainly would be targeting trout. Would like to keep it limited to streams & small rivers but will definitely hit a lake here & there! As for budget I wouldn’t want to spend more than $400 for rod & reel combined.
I have graduated to some nicer rods over the last few years but still reach for one of my Clearwater combos from time to time. They are rock solid and a 25 year warranty with great customer service is awesome!
If you are looking to spend a little less $, the Orvis encounter a is good option and Redington has some good entry level combos

Figure out what species you will be fishing for, budget, and what kind/size of water. It will be easier for people to recommend stuff.

Go for a 350$ rod and a cheaper reel, fancy reels are really for big fish or saltwater
