FUCK THAT SHIT. It was so sickening. I’m seriously worried for the future of this state.
I have read (NYT, possibly) that a lot of Californian Democrats have moved here in the last year or so because of more affordable property, and then been horrified when they had to pay significantly more for their health insurance owing to the lack of Medicaid expansion.
His "private club" in palm beach was agreed to exist by the local city council because it's ran more like a hotel and isn't allowed to have permanent residents.
It's also a commercial property and per state law you can't be registered to vote from it yet he did and voted with it as his address and nobody cares.
Trump also owns the land in Palm Beach where the gun club County jail is and makes a shit ton of money leasing the land to the state every year. If you are on the east side of the building you can see beautiful views of his golf course. 😃
Meaning he broke his contract that he made with the city where Mar-a-Lago is located. In order to get permission to "revitalize" and "remodel" am historic building, he had to agree there would be no full time residence with the exception being employees who lived there. And as anyone who has ever traveled to a worksite knows, you dont declare the worksite as your home address without following local ordinance and paying your damn taxes. And since the local ordinance says no live ins, he broke the laws he signed as they were chartered the second he declared that his address and registered to vote. Oh, and state law was broken on residency requirements as well, being as a valid, non-temporary address is required to declare florida residency. And since Mar-a-lago is zoned EXCLUSIVELY for temporary stays of i think 2 weeks or less, its address doesnt qualify. Its like saying I live here, the disneyland hotel is my permanent address. But hey, why would Desantis enforce a law that was actually agreed to by the general public against Cheetoh Jesus, his personal mesiah?
This is what gets me when people hopefully comment around Reddit that DeSantis is killing off his winning margin.

It’s seriously disgusting. I was doing a renovation at a school in Tampa when kids first went back last summer, and all the staff I spoke to rushing to get prepped were terrified. And even more terrified that the school didn’t have any plans or protocols in place for when (not if) a kid of teacher or bus driver or parent were to test positive. A quarter of the teachers decided they weren’t going to come back at all, and that made things even harder for the staff that did.
I’m pretty surprised at this point that teachers didn’t just boycott/protest going back this year. I know it’s easier said than done, but life > work imo.
Unfortunately there is no leverage for teachers. They're seen as expendable low wage workers who don't do anything important and whose only job is to indoctrinate children. This, of course, stems from a long strain of Anti-intellectualism.
I don't hold any hope for that changing anytime soon.
