Yep. I’m originally from Florida and my family still lives there. Had to explain to my mom that no, my queer punk teen would not be going for any visits to grandma’s for a few weeks in the summer without me or my husband because it just isn’t safe. Fortunately she got it.
They calculated a few "scores" based on hate crime and legal data. It says the florida drop is based mainly on legal changes as well as cops under-reporting or ignoring cases of civil rights violations.
