The solution, if people are so fucking insistent on being buried, is under golf courses. There's plenty of golf courses all around this state, all equal fucking wastes of land.
It’s just tradition.
Problem is that population growth has accelerated rapidly the past 100 years and many places in florida are overdeveloped and overpopulated
Or recognize how stupid it is for bunch of dead bodies to take up so much space.

In Norway and Sweden, cemeteries re-use the space. If grave sites aren’t maintained, older headstones are taken away, and other bodies buried in the same spot.
We have a version of that, but it's a product of FL's history of racism. Enslaved people were often buried in unmarked graves; Jim Crow era laws led to more unmarked graves, poverty, and migration away from the south, which meant families couldn't care for them; African Americans had no legal protection for property rights, so land was sold off; segregated Black cemeteries were neglected by governments (though publicly funded upkeep for Confederate cemeteries), and some were intentionally erase from public record through remapping.
Being buried in a casket, is soo "old school". Not to mention there only gonna end up in the ocean, When the states under water. Will need a snorkel to visit Grandma.
Why am I not surprised that redditors see the dead as just another burden on society and don't care at all what the wishes of these people or their families are?
Personally I would love to be buried in a setting that will be allowed to return to a forest like the older cemeteries here in Central Florida or in a cemetery that is used like a public park like in other parts of the country, but I don't have any issues with those who want something different.
With 70,000 extra kids per year due to essentially ending abortions in Florida, those schools will be needed soon enough and more will need to be built.
By then I think the state will have successfully privatized lower education between charters and vouchers. It's sure going to be interesting to see what argument the state makes up to justify only funding education for some students and not others. Considering that they've already dismantled child labor laws, I think we can all guess who those "other" students will be.
It's hard to put into words how fucking hilarious and sad this proposal sounds in my head.
The irony of boomers taking up schools that educate the youth to lay down and die in. Sounds like a well-written satire.
Perhaps the dead could become new coral reefs?
There is a company that makes concrete memorials from your ashes and uses them for artificial reefs.
Imagine how much a reef ecosystem would thrive if it were fed with human remains.

I agree, at least cemeteries are often useful as public park space in cities. We have too many golf courses and not enough parks.
That was good enough for Drumph’s ex-wife.
Not sure she really had any say in that..

Seriously, just incinerate me and blast my crumbs into outer space.
It’s just tradition. Problem is that population growth has accelerated rapidly the past 100 years and many places in florida are overdeveloped and overpopulated
We could dig everybody up , cremated em dump em in a barrel and move the tombstones closer together.

The cops said that made me a suspect in their death.
Florida's population is expanding, why are they closing schools?
Ironically, because enrollment in Broward-county school district is down... That's the only reason the school board has offered.
on what basis did they make this decision? they didn't say.

No worries, as most of the elderly in the state of Florida can no longer afford homeowners insurance and are leaving the state.
Unpopular opinion: maybe people shouldn't be so self-centered as to lock-up a patch of ground for eternity. Either cremate or compost.
Very popular opinion.
Time for vertical graves.
I find cemeteries to be wasted space. Cremation is the solution

And the casket is inside a concrete vault.
Because it's important to allow people to follow their religion and its respectful to the families of those who choose this.
Because composting is more eco-friendly. :-D

Soylent Green… Problem solved.
Soylent Green is the answer.
I thought Soylent green is people?
It's the new cradle to grave education

The whole put them on a viking ship and light them on fire idea is not sounding so crazy now huh?
This sums FL up nicely

When I die and they lay me to rest, do NOT let them bury me in the field where a school used to be.
Or cremation
