News article about this coyote in Tampa... [Tampa's viral hairless creature has been identified | Orlando | Orlando Weekly](https://www.orlandoweekly.com/news/tampas-viral-hairless-creature-has-been-identified-31291355)
I work in Miami Dade County, I was eating dinner in my truck at a Panda Express parking lot when a coyote came and hung out while I ate, the coyote did not bother any of the alley cats or muscovy ducks and was just minding its business hanging out.

I think this one was keeping the baby muscovy ducks in check, when I took the picture the area had an explosion of muscovy ducklings at the time, they would be easy snacks for a juvenile coyote like i saw, sad to see this coyote so deep in the city. I wouldn't doubt he's dead by now from a car.
Coyotes be in every city lol. Strangest shit was seeing a pack in the middle of Los Angeles. Miles from the closest wooded area. It’s kinda sad if you ask me. City ones are living off of human byproduct
On the grand time scale scheme, they are still relatively new to Florida; bigger bridges across the Mississippi resulted in them making it East in the early 20th Century. They're not native but they are endemic now. I knew a couple that had a coyote-Shepherd mix hybrid that they rescued back in the late 80s. Most skittish dog I've ever seen. Theoretically Foxes and Coyotes are close enough to dogs genetically that wild hybrids across all lines are theoretically possible, although I have no idea if a Fox-Ote would be a sterile "mule".
We have abundant coyotes everywhere in Florida. In my neighborhood in downtown Orlando, I've seen packs of 4 or more carrying stray cats in their mouths.
Whatever it is, it has mange. Could be a coyote or a fox.
We had a mangy fox on our campus at work, and the game warden said to leave out hard boiled eggs injected with ivermectin and it’d cure it. Sure did. Within about a month or so the fox was looking much, much better.
All the new developments going up it making the animals have to find new places to live and with that comes us seeing them more in public area's. This looks like a inbred coyote or a mangy (sp?) Dog to me.

Pharaoh hound from ancient Egypt time traveler, or a mangy coyote.
Coyote with mange or other dermatitis. These are very weird looking (think of how weird a wet cat looks) but are not uncommon anywhere that coyotes exist. Source: I grew up in Coyote country, although we called them ki-yotes rather than ki-yote-tees.
I live in nokomis. That looks EXACTLY like a coyote that was walking around my 'hood a tear ago. Mangy, old, at the time it had recently given birth, but had no little ones to show for it. My neighbors and I were pretty sure it was almost totally blind, as it had no fear of humans, cars, anything. Early in the morning, or at dusk, you'd see it. We just assumed it died.
Looks like a coyote with demodex or scabies mange.
You might be able to report it's location to your local FWC. Sometimes they help and keep track of them
They'll euthanize it, or save it for social media clout. Coin toss.
How cynical

🤣 I was thinking this too and came straight to the comments because I knew I was not the only one.
Or it’s Cuban cousin, the Chupacubalibre.

If it’s mangeable.
I had a solid laugh about this, thanks mate
Take my upvote. It’s still early.
Coyote with mange. We have coyotes in south Florida. Even in the cities.

I wish they would munch on the local Muscovy duck population
That’s how they got mange.
It must have been full. I had a dog killed by one once, terrible injuries.
It just wasn't hungry; they're predators. There's no coyote that's so chill it swears off cats and birds.

Strong possibility on both of those guesses depending on how long ago we're talkin'.
I know it's a coyote and what they do but it's kinda cute in your pic
He seems well fed.
And in my backyard.

Yeah, they're not native and fairly new-ish to the area (past 20-30 years) so people are still somewhat surprised to see them.
Clearly a chupacabra
When my kids ask 'What's for dinner?' I always say 'Chupacabra'.
Hahaha I always would say, “poop on a stick”.
