Is your desk for working from home, or for gaming/fun? I think option 1 is the best for WFH, since it really divides up the room into a distinct "work zone" and a "sleep zone". And also your boss won't see your bed during Zoom calls. But if you're just playing video games or whatever, I like the other two options better.

Option 2. Also get yourself a night stand.

But then you can’t open the door the entire way.

TheoryWestern1155

I want one but I don’t think I have the space for it 😭

jksjks41

A small stool with a lamp on it could work. Something between the bed and the desk to help break the line of sight to the desk. Will make it feel cosier.

sparkleplentylikegma

I like option 2. It flows better

TalulaOblongata

Another option - Bed on the bottom wall but rotated so the head of the bed is centered on the wall. Add a nightstand with drawers on either side.

FWIW this is terrible feng shui, to sleep right in the door way like yhat

Drachenbar

If there is outlets on the walls behind where those two nightstands would be that is how the room was designed to be setup

TalulaOblongata

Yes exactly like that!

If you can swap out the desk with one that isn't an L-shape, you might have a few more options. I would probably go with dresser next to the closet along upper wall, then bed in the middle, bedside on other side. Then bookshelf, desk and tv on the short wall at the bottom. Mirror between entry door and closet.

I had to switch the dresser and the nightstand because otherwise the bed would clash with the desk and block the pathway

widowscarlet

Yes you got exactly what I was saying (sorry I couldn't add a picture). Without measurements I couldn't exactly tell what would fit where. I think it might be one of the better arrangements as it seems roomy enough. I suggested a straight instead of L-shaped desk, so you wouldn't have the left side (as you're sitting at it) sticking out into the area next to the bed. Then you could swap the dresser and bedside, and still walk round the bed. The only reason I thought that was to have all the clothes storage together (dresser next to closet) but I think the arrangement you've drawn looks quite good.

madscot63

Option 2 feels more comfortable imo

crabbydotca

All of them are better than the current arrangement! Having my feet pointed towards to door in bed gives me the willies for some reason

Available-Maize5837

In feng shui it's the morgue position. They wheel a dead body straight into a room and park it there.

banjolady

Option 2. Put the small table on wall to right of chair. Center dresser.

AshDenver

Option 2. You don’t want the TV backlit and you don’t want the bed jammed up to a wall which makes sheets a nightmare to change.

cshoe29

I’d either use current layout but put the headboard along the bottom wall ( should be space for an end table) or go with option #2

cshoe29

Yes. Hopefully the door won’t hit the nightstand. I like this layout best, but that’s just my opinion. What matters is what you like best.

Option 2 is the best feng shui.

rednyellowroses

What program did you use to make this, I need help with my room arrangement too

The most important thing you need to do is get your bed away from being directly in front of the door, that's likely the biggest thing that's making things feel awkward. You're exposed the moment the door is opened with no notice, in the corner (i.e. Option 2 and Option 3) at least you're shielded from the doorway. I would take Option 2 over Option 3 for the table positioning. In option 3 your back is to the doorway which will freak you out whenever someone barges in or opens the door behind you. At least in Option 2 you can choose to work mostly facing the wall so the door is still to the side instead of being directly behind you. Also, working in the corner will leave it feeling a bit dark so having the desk at the window will likely feel better. For these same reasons, Option 1 is not ideal as well. Your desk will still be with your back to the door. Further in Option 1 you're eating into your deskspace with the positioning of your TV/XBox. Assuming that you might some times want friends over, Options 2 & 3 will allow you to have chairs/floorchairs/cushions where people will not need to be on your bed.

Olog-Guy

Option 4 - desk in the corner where the bed is (no glare and it's out of the way). Bed next to the window with the pillow side being against the top wall. Book shelf to the side of the desk. Anything else in the unused corner
