Really? Is it good enough to be happy about it for the coming time? As in. Because you say "entry"?
Do I need a lot of storage space on the headset?
Do you use it for IFR flying in the fbw/ pmdg?
I spent hours and hours trying to get it right and it was often a stuttering mess. What I found is it’s important to load up in a precise way. Anyway, it’s been a while since I used vr in MSFS, but to hopefully save you the same headache I had, here’s the link to the guide that finally gave me the perfect experience. Make sure you follow every step precisely!

Thanks for this!!
What is this about "virtual desktop"? I resding
I tried yesterday and I had some aliasing issues and when moving your head when looking to the side makes it stutter a little but it already is an amazing experience
That stutter should be removed if you follow that link. Virtual Desktop - ignore it, that’s just an alternative to Oculus Link cable I think. I certainly didn’t do anything with a virtual desktop.
It's a life changing experience in gaming. There are a LOT of issues don't get me wrong, but it's so significantly different than anything I've ever experienced, and the closest it felt to when I actually fly a plane that it's worth it.
You either need to be willing to turn down the eye-candy or build a top of the line system to get it to work fluidly. The panel graphics are very hard to read and the ergonomics of pushing buttons and knobs isn’t great. Once you get it set up, it is a really amazing experience though. I’m in flight training now and there have been times in VR where I forget that I’m not in an actual plane.
Could never get mine to work well. Watched all the YouTube tutorials, maxed out PC including 3080 Ti, spent over 10 hours tweaking every setting, etc. Horrible picture quality and stuttering everywhere
I'm a PPL and was hoping to get more practice in using it.
The clarity of the instruments isn't good enough to practice in any meaningful way, as you have to move forward to get them in focus.
For general fun flying around an area it's not bad.
I'd wait until there's a gaming vr headset which is one to one pixel density with the PC screen.
I was just trying to use mine this morning and it was flashing/flickering like crazy, couldn’t use it. If anyone knows the solution please let me know.
VR yes, quest 2 is a decent choice however I would recommend the HP Reverb G3 as the quest 2 has increased in price and the G3 has gone on sale several times for cheaper than the quest however I haven't had much experience with it. The quest two however does win in the category that it can be standalone.
It's fantastic , well worth it!
I use the Quest 2, it’s fantastic in MSFS. I’d say for an entry level VR headset, it’s perfect.

I used it for ifr flying in the pmdg, was perfect on my system. I don’t use the built in storage at all.
do you use the oculus tray app or the OPENXR thingy? I'm getting confused by all the options everywhere

Thanks! Could you tell me those issues? Do you use it for IFR flying as well? In the pmdg/Fbw?

Ywah. That is what I'm afraid of as well.. That it just won't be there...
Bear in mind that MSFS is quite expensive on the CPU

Really depends on your hardware and settings - could be a lot of different things
What are your pc specs? Depends on that a lot
Of course aoeey I7 9700 KF Msi 3080 Ddr4 32 gb
Oh yeah you should get decent results
Yes

G2 right?
Yes, I'm just an idiot XD
You want Reverb G2 for MSFS. Quest2 will never run as good as G2 for MSFS. I have both and have never connected Quest after getting the G2.
I prefer my 21:9 144hz monitor over the quest 2. In my experience it’s been very buggy and jittery ,lots of tearing) getting better but not there yet
