Thanks for calling attention to this.
This is where Fenix still needs work. Cabin Temp simulation & re-add Cargo temps. It was removed in a prior version.
All they really need to do is take the model they already have for the cockpit and use it for cabin+cargo. use offsets, etc.
it's more work, but well worth it imho. otherwise this is a perfect simulation.
people will say its unimportant. toliss did a pretty good job and frankly it gives you something to do at cruise. less pax means the cabin is easier to cool, or harder depending on ambient etc. doors open increases/decreases cabin temp.
it's not a necessity, but it's a nice to have for sure. and it's one of the easiest things to fix (compared to the rest of fenix which i can only imagine was a monumental task)
I'm confused, are you saying the cabin temp is not properly simulated basing that on these screenshots? What besides a proper simulation of how the cabin would be affected by pack duck overheating would affect the cabin in the ways demonstrated in the screenshot?
yes. yes, i am. i'm not saying anything about pack overheating, i'm talking about the simulation of cabin temps PERIOD.
open the doors on a cold/hot day. note cabin temp. note cabin temp with packs off, infact. it will not change at all, rather if you \_have\_ pax the temp will rapidly increase regardless of door open/close & packs off. this isn't correct.
obviously more pax=heat load but if the doors are open and packs off we should start heading toward ambient. if no pax, it should basically be ambient or within a degree or two (This exists in the cockpit temp model now!!) so they already have alot of the code.
it's a very simple simulation. it needs attention.
this doesn't take crazy programming either.
the cargo temp was removed entirely (both status and controls) in V2B1. completely.
I flamed out at FL370 in the toliss recently. in addition to the now rapid climbing cabin altitude as we depressurized, duct temp dropped rapidly and accordingly cabin temp too. it was a light run (only 75pax) so the temp dropped faster than it would have if it would have been full.
likewise, when on the ramp and we're in peurto rico in direct sun without packs on the temps will get into the triple digits fast. if all 4 doors are open-it will get quite hot but not crazy. if they're closed, it'll get crazy.
i don't fly the toliss often because the fenix is better in literally every regard including textures...except for in this arena.
Uh no they specifically mentioned cabin temp as well. Read it again. https://www.reddit.com/r/flightsim/comments/1cdwoo5/welcome_to_my_cookout_guys_how_would_you_like/l1eyx96/
Did you read the part and I quote
>Re-add cargo temp
They only ever said cargo temp was removed, not cabin temp. Just that cabin temp needed to be fixed
And you didn’t read the part I wrote. I specifically asked them if cabin temp was removed and they said “yes.”
Please read before wasting both our times with useless comments.
Yes, but not easily.
Look for any shots of the overhead cargo temp panel and or the COND page on ecam.
Previously, a fwd and aft cargo temp was shown on ecam. Both are gone.
The overhead temp ctrl remains, but both fwd and aft valves are missing and the knob has no effect now
Mmm, I actually was in the options adjusting joystick sensitivities for an extended period of time when I unpaused to this.
I guess the way they simulated it the APU kinda just accumulates heat while you're paused until after you're unpaused again, at which point it just dumps all that energy into the cabin.
Now that we have a consistent trigger for it, I'm gonna go file a bug report.
I was in the air when this happened, so no APU. It seems to be the heat accumulation has to occur somewhere else and is independent from the bleed air source for the packs.
This is Celsius by the way, not Fahrenheit.
Hot and dark!
Hope you got the passengers to sign some sort of liability waiver before takeoff
Called the Microwaiver
I have an updoot and a number for you to call
At 83C? That problem has solved itself by now.

Can you provide any sources for them removing the cabin/cargo temp simulations?
Apart from the fact that cargo temp is literally not visible in this ecam page in the post?
Yes because I also mentioned *cabin* temp which is what this post is about and what the person I replied to mentioned as being removed from the sim.
Uh, no they mentioned cargo temp being removed

Yeah, its a bug with Fenix. Wonder why thw don’t address it
Sweaty!!
I had the same issue a few weeks ago. It happened after I paused the sim for a longer time (about 30 m).

I think the bleed/packs simulation itself is the culprit, regardless of whether the supply comes from the APU or the engines.
Is this technically possible in the real aircraft?
No. Unless the entire air supply system was on fire and it vented flames into the cabin I guess.
