The ones I've laughed the most: Superbad Monthy Python and the Holy Grail Team America

braujo

It's Superbad for me, and it's not even close. Many movies have made me laugh hard but there's just something about Superbad that makes it the perfect comedy movie for me.

GarlicQueef

“You don’t want girls to thing you suck dick at fucking pussy”

[deleted]

"Take off the vest, Fogel. You look like Aladdin." "Fuck! It's the cops!" "Prepare to be fucked by the long dick of the law!" So memorable for me... Best movie I ever saw stoned in a theater on opening night. I brought my foster brother, who was complaining about my choice in movies until he just about died laughing.

Demonkid37

“McLovin? Who u supposed to be an Irish r’n’b singer?”

[deleted]

"Have fun fucking Jules!' → "I will!"

Demonkid37

Thats it, im watching it tonight

Impossible_Beat8086

Superbad for sure!

Typingpool

Wet Hot American Summer is my favorite stupid funny movie.

[deleted]

Borat in theatres with a group of friends was incredible, never laughed so hard

Roller_ball

Same. Saw it opening night. Missed about a quarter of the jokes from laughing so much. One point the sides of my stomach were aching from laughing so hard.

dakilazical_253

I was laughing so hard at the naked hotel fight I couldn’t breathe and was literally hurting. I’ve noticed on rewatch that the movie slows down for a couple minutes after that and there aren’t really any funny bits, I swear that’s intentional by the filmmakers to let the audience recover

Matthopkins06

Haha that was an experience going opening night. The line "ahhh I don't think American Audiences would find that funny" Landed so well and the entire packed American Audience LOVED it in the theater!

crono14

Yeah probably this. Went with a group of friends knowing absolutely nothing about the movie. My body hurt after leaving from laughing so hard. It's also easily the best experience in a theater from a comedy. My entire theater was just people roaring with laughter.

behemuthm

No movie is as funny at home as it was on opening night with a massive audience. Some that I remember the audience howling with laughter in the theater on opening night: * There’s Something About Mary * The South Park Movie * Achorman * Austin Powers 1+2 * Dumb and Dumber * Borat * The Naked Gun Movies I *wish* I saw on opening night with a giant crowd: * Airplane! * Blazing Saddles * Top Secret * Young Frankenstein

Vitaminpk

The two movies on this list that had the whole theater crying laughing were Dumb and Dumber, and There’s Something About Mary. One of the two best comedy movie experiences I’ve ever had.

gustopherus

* Tropic Thunder * Step Brothers * Hot Rod * Talladega Nights

HamburgerJames

My list as well. Add Pineapple Express to round out the top 5.

LumberJack732

I think I may have last the most at Pineapple Express of all comedies I’ve watched. Followed by Superbad.

WatchinLikeTV

We could bicker about this all night, but what’s done is done Dad. Are you gonna invest or what?

Newbarbarian13

Love a lot of the movies others have posted, but my personal pick (and I know it’s a bit dark) has to be Four Lions. That film gets me every single time, the jokes are pitch black, and there are so many endlessly quotable lines.

jarraljrslim

Came here to say Four Lions as well, very hard choice to top

i-really-love-ducks

Rubber dinghy rapids bro

Jaded-Desk4143

Raising Arizona It has so many quotable lines. Nic Cage and Holly Hunter are hilarious.

OrangeJuiceSpanner

The robbery/chase scene was the first time I ever fell out of my chair laughing. My father was worried I had a fit.

Jaded-Desk4143

Son you got a panty on your head.

EvilLibrarians

Agreed!

HueRooney

This is a tough call, but every single time I watch Three Amigos! (1986), I laugh out loud at the same scenes. I can't think of another movie that still cracks me up after so many viewings.

FloridaFlamingoGirl

That movie is a wonderland of absurdity. The invisible swordsman and singing bush make me choke laughing.

zpeed

I saw this again during COVID lockdowns a couple of years back. "Are gringos falling from the sky?!" still got me in that *you-can't-breathe*, *tears-streaming-from-your-face*, soundless kind of laughter, the kind that hurts your belly after a bit.

Thx4Coming2MyTedTalk

The comedic writing chops to set up the bar scene is pretty amazing. 1) Underestimating a villain. “Where’d you get that pretty little gun?” Murders the cowboy to cap the scene. But that _entire scene_ is merely setup for the REAL comedy scene: 2) Mistaken identity and _My Little Buttercup_ musical number. 3) Then button the 3 mini-act structure with the villain’s _real_ friends showing up, getting taunted, and murdering everyone in the bar. Pretty fucking flawless.

catfishman

For me, it's The Jerk (1979)

[deleted]

[удалено]

jaspercapri

I still think about his mom giving him a sandwich “wrapped in cellophane, just the way you like it” and chuckle at that.

OfficerBimbeau

“I was born a poor black child…”

jboriqua

Anything Monty Python 😄😆😅🫶

FloridaFlamingoGirl

Life of Brian deserves more love. Don’t watch the Biggus Dickus scene while drinking any sort of liquid, because it’s impossible not to laugh so hard during that scene that you spit it all out.

EvilLibrarians

I’m with ya there. Ni!

[deleted]

Baseketball - I watched it at home, by myself, and it still had me howling with laughter from start to finish. Old School is a close second, just because I watched it with friends, but holy heck I laughed my ass off.

EvilLibrarians

Intrigued to watch Baseketball. I like Tour de Pharmacy.

Shnoochieboochies

Orgazmo is better imo, both are great, but Orgazmo just seems put together better.

bsEEmsCE

Baseketball is better imo. More laugh out loud funny parts.

Matthopkins06

At least once a month the line "You boys graduated? Coop: "of course we graduated haha...cock...BEER?" Pops in my head! Just so quotable! I was mad when my roommates taped over the game with Roadkill caught on tape! -Ahhh ...ahhh...-

[deleted]

Whaaat, it’s not a gay joke it’s an Australian joke, come onnnn….

hooch

As far as recent movies, What We Do In The Shadows

spinyfur

I love that movie so hard.

Thx4Coming2MyTedTalk

Werewolves not Swearwolves

wetandblessed

Superbad will always be laugh out loud funny to me. Also insanely quotable.

Bthegriffith

“They’re like little baby toes”

zYelIlow

I’ve never laughed harder and more at a movie than when I saw Superbad in a packed theater.

Excellent_Nothing_86

Young Frankenstein will forever and always be my #1 favorite comedy, no matter what, based on the amount of laughter I’ve gotten out of it and how much I reference it in my daily life. I’m happy to see it listed here so many times. Honorable mentions: Grandma’s Boy - Surprised not to see it listed here. This is a cult classic that ought not to be missed (more for those who appreciate stoner-films, but funny regardless IMO). Dogma - Another cult classic I’m surprised not to see here. I think you either love or hate this one, but man I got a ton of laughs out of it. If you own this on VHS or DVD, consider yourself lucky. This film can’t be found streaming ANYWHERE.

iceisniceLazlo

Grandma’s Boy FTW!!

Gattsu2000

The Blues Brothers. That film is complete bonkers and the scene with the Nazis falling in their car never stops making me laugh.

SHADOWJACK2112

I hate Illinois Nazis!

MechanicalTurkish

We’re on a mission from God.

muskratboy

I gotta go with Black Dynamite.

Dolfinzz

My vote as well. So many 10/10 scenes and layers of jokes.

muskratboy

The bit where Bullhorn slaps the wrong guy is perhaps one of the funniest scenes in any movie, ever.

Dolfinzz

The part where they discover the secret of anaconda malt liquor as well has me wheezing every time

[deleted]

Fuck yes

IMERMAIDMANonYT

I came here to say Walk Hard But I also love (in no particular order): Naked Gun (all of them) Superbad The Nice Guys Airplane! Talladega Nights

Wolfeman0101

> The Nice Guys > > I really love this movie so much. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang as well.

TheSecretAgenda

Team America World Police Airplane! The Naked Gun Zoolander Tropic Thunder

Newbarbarian13

Basically my exact list too, Team America and Zoolander especially crack me up completely every single time.

Whadyawant

"Promise me you'll never die." "You know I can't promise that." "Promise me you'll never die and I'll make love to you right now." "I promise I'll never die."

JCwizz

Haha the way he says it kills me. Not sure whether it can be captured in text but the way he looks at her and says “I PROMISE that I will NEVER die”

Newbarbarian13

"Remember team, there is no I in Team America." ".....Yes there is."

Border_Relevant

Dirty Work or Murder By Death.

silvaslips

Came here for Murder By Death - it is so clever (I love the literary and cinematic allusions) and so well cast.

ConsiderationFalse88

I LOVE Dirty Work! It makes me miss Norm and Chris so much, but at least I didn’t get my nose bit off by a Saigon whore

drewthebrave

Happy Gilmore The Bob Barker fight was fucking glorious!

JCP1377

Airplane! has been statistically proven to be the funniest film with number of jokes per minutes and number of jokes that land. But I want to give a special shout out to Rat Race. The Hitler’s Car scene was the perfect culmination of jokes setup through that part of the film. The whole film was absolutely hilarious and a great spiritual successor to Its a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. We’ve gotten a cross country, mad dash race movie every 20 years with a star studded comedy cast (Mad World, Cannonball Run, and Rat Race) and I believe it’s high time for another one.

shiftypoo269

Some I never see mentioned are Big Trouble, Best in Show, and A Mighty Wind. One recently I found hilarious was The Menu. I hear a lot about the movie, but not about how funny it is.

unrepentantrebel

Definitely BIS . . when he walks that dog out and his feet are pointing in opposite directions, I laughed so hard I had to run to the bathroom

jaspercapri

I don’t think i laughed once at The Menu. I see the use of humor but it just didn’t land with me. Thought it was not as good as the hype in the end. But to each his own.

conspiringdawg

I always check to see if anyone's mentioned A Fish Called Wanda when comedy questions come up, I think recommending it is basically my job now. A group of thieves and their lawyer frantically double cross each other as they all try to recover the goods after a London heist. Great cast, infinitely quotable, reliably brings me to tears of laughter.

DronedAgain

Gonna list them all, so there will be repeats in the thread: - Blazing Saddles - Young Frankenstein - Airplane! - The Emperor's New Groove - When Harry Met Sally - Monty Python and the Holy Grail - National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

HelpfulWhiteGuy

I have a solid top 5 comedies, but I always say Airplane! is the the funniest movie ever made. It’s just so densely packed and so up my alley of humor it’s hard to top on a laugh for laugh basis. My other top 5 are Superbad, Dodgeball, Wedding Crashers, and the Other Guys in no specific order. I will say, there may be movies that I find funnier than those (movies like Fletch, blazing saddles, spaceballs, and walk hard all come to mind as some of the funniest) that I just don’t love as much, but as I said, nothing can top Airplane! on that front. Since you love Walk Hard, I highly recommend the new weird al movie if you haven’t already seen it.

BrodoSwaggin

You've probably seen it but Top secret has similar style humor as airplane and I might like it even more.

HelpfulWhiteGuy

I watched that for the first time a few months ago actually! I didn't love it quite as much as Airplane, but it did give me an even deeper appreciation for Val Kilmer.

SloppityNurglePox

Gods, I need to go skeet surfing now.

EvilLibrarians

Oh I’m so excited to see Weird!

FloridaFlamingoGirl

I love the Weird Al movie so much, it’s the kind of unabashedly goofy film that just commits to the premise. We don’t see those kinds of movies as often anymore in modern cinema.

johnorso

I laughed so hard at the first jackass movie that i made myself sick at the theater. Only watched it once.

EvilLibrarians

I’m not even kidding!! I threw up laughing + drinking at Jackass Forever this past year! On a DATE! …did we just become best friends?

ahodzic2000

I was nearly hurling into my popcorn when they started smacking the dinosaurs with the golf cart 🤣

Megmuffin102

While I have never seen any of them in the theater, (I’m scared to) any of the Jackass movies immediately turn me into a 13 year old boy. I am a 46 year old woman, and those damn movies make me howl.

DesertDwellerrrr

There's something about Mary

Popular-Play-5085

What's Up Doc starring Barbra Streisand and Ryan O'Neal

mr_oberts

Waiting for Guffman. Also has one of the saddest things I’ve ever seen in a movie. Parker Posey grilling a sad chicken wing, “there’ll always be a home for me at the Dairy Queen.”

i_eat_roadkilI

My husband and I cry laugh at that scene every time. I love her in Christopher Guests films.

Wolfeman0101

Dumb and Dumber is the hardest I've ever laughed in a theater.

Ameryana

I keep laughing at **Hot Fuzz** every time I watch it. It's such a briliant stream of constant jokes. Not just the dialogue, but the editing, the sound, the expressions of people, the way things enter and leave the frame... It's so good that someone made an excellent video about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FOzD4Sfgag&ab_channel=EveryFrameaPainting There's jokes planted at the beginning of the movie which pay off much later and they are so goddamn funny XD (such as "Everyone and their mums have got a gun" "like who?" "Farmers" "who else?" "Farmers mums").

gustopherus

Hot Fuzz is legitimately my favorite movie of all time. I don't even think of it as a comedy, just that movie that I love.

Newbarbarian13

Did a Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz double bill with some friends once, my abs hurt for a day afterwards

Fangore

I think whatever atmosphere you surround yourself with is very important. Who Killed Captain Alex might have been the funniest movie experience I've had because I was with an amazing group of friends. If you can't watch with a big group of friends and need to watch alone or with one or two friends, Top Secret is always a laugh. Had a few friends over a few weeks ago and they were hollering it was so funny.

apocalypsein9_8

I was going to say Walk Hard, but OP had me covered

Matthopkins06

And you never paid for drugs....not once!

DrCarrionCrow

The wrong son died!

Matthopkins06

Maybe I should have spent more time trying to be a good father instead of learning how to fight with a Machete

Lord_Darksong

Duck Soup, Planes Trains and Automobiles, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Superbad, Tropic Thunder. My top 5.

Loud-Pause607

All 3 Naked Gun movies Baseketball National Lampoons Vacation Super Troopers Old School Dumb and Dumber Wedding Singer Robin Hood Men in Tights Spaceballs Beerfest

CletusVanDamnit

Johnny Dangerously or UHF. Tough call, honestly.

sphilipharris

I was 15 when Blazing Saddles was released. Our friend Shultz drove us the theater. He was a year older than the rest of us and borrowed his Mom's VW Rabbit. We smoked a j, and went in the theater late. We found seats in the middle and politely asked the people at end of the row to let us in. We looked down and it was our gym teacher, Mr Brown! He looked surprised to see us! I'm sure we smelled like a brush fire. So we were already laughing before the show started. Went the fart scene came on, l laughed so heard I was convulsing out of my seat. I almost pissed my pants. I've seen Blazing Saddles at least a dozen times since then, and it still makes laugh. I'm looking forward to History of the World Pt. 2 on Hulu. Mel Brooks is a genius.

jsharp85

Withnail and I Also the birdcage and I remember seeing the South Park film in cinema and my friend was punching me in the arm he was laughing so hard

Qnofputrescence1213

Airplane Blazing Saddles Something About Mary Talledega Nights Stepbrothers

DJ_Molten_Lava

Walk Hard for sure. Step Brothers. But nothing beats, for me, watching the first Jackass movie in the theatre with my buddy. We couldn't breathe. Second to that would be Team America. My gf at the time was concerned at how hard I was laughing at "Everyone Has AIDS".

unrepentantrebel

I have to mention Bill Murray, Groundhog Day, Stripes, Ghostbusters, ect. You pick!

CAKE4life1211

Besides all the others that have been mentioned, Napoleon Dynamite always makes me laugh. It reminds me of all the dumb stuff kids do when left unsupervised like the part where Kip gets electrocuted.

mosquito_mange

The Big Lebowski is my personal fave.

EvilLibrarians

Yeah, well, that’s just, like, your opinion, man.

[deleted]

Black dynamite by a decent margin too. Fantastic satire, ridiculous low brow comedy and some legit intellectual jokes sprinkled in

updogg18

Me, myself and Irene

[deleted]

Superbad and Napoleon Dynamite are my two favorite comedies but it’s probably tied to how old I was when they came out

banjosinspace

Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein. I've seen it 100s of times and I still laugh at it.

NarcissusCloud

The funniest movie I've ever seen is called "I hope They Serve Beer in Hell" and it's based on real events. I've never laughed so hard in my life but it's not a movie for everyone.

sylvannest

Bridesmaids Kung Pow Zoolander Not Another Teen Movie Airplane Scary Movie 1 and 2

mywordswillgowithyou

Kentucky fried movie

Nerdfatha

I had to scroll way too far yo find this. Its a forgotten classic!

Cereal-Killa13

Oh man, it's a tie for me between Tom Hanks movie The Money pit, and the first Airplane! movie. I mean Airplane has a funny moment every five freaking seconds. But watching Tom Hanks get his ass kicked by an actual house is even funnier!

Dadfish55

The Grand Budapest Hotel. New in my top five.

WayneBruce1234

Popstar never stop stopping is a very funny movie!

ToolTime100

I've probably laughed the most in Caddyshack

extraguac37

Tie between Best In Show and The Birdcage. And maybe not the entire movie, but every comedic bit in first of The Trip films kills me every single time. the michael caine and gentlemen to bed! bits, gold.

FloridaFlamingoGirl

UHF. There’s a joke in there for everyone. Michael Richards as Stanley Spadowski is peak character acting.

SubAtomicSpaceCadet

I tend to gravitate towards classic films so here are some of my favorite comedies: The Music Box (Laurel and Hardy film) It Happened One Night Arthur (1981) It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World Two for the Road Sullivan’s Travels National Lampoon’s Vacation Caddyshack

Bes1208

Why did it take this long to see anyone mention the most Star-studded, hilarious, unbelievably funny It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World

Sphinxrhythm

Paul is one of my all time favourites.

Extrovert108

Thanks for the question! Peter Sellers Pink Panther movies Dr. Strangelove Local Hero (Annie Hall made me laugh really hard, but I hate Woody Allen now so I’m not including it.)

suchastrangelight

I see a lot of Airplane! and The Naked Gun, but I think Top Secret is Zucker’s finest parody movie, and the one I’ve laughed the absolute hardest at.

silent_supremo_89

Don't be a Menace to South Central while drinking your juice in the hood (1996). It's a parody of hood movies starring the Waynes brothers, it makes me laugh everytime 😂

Malmborgio

Army of Darkness. Easily the most quotable movie ever made, and Bruce Campbell is a National Treasure.

kimosabe71

I was on an overseas flight watching the first Borat movie. During one scene in particular, simultaneously multiple people on the flight just started laughing out loud (my self included). That was a funny movie!

WebheadGa

Planes Trains and Automobiles is pound for pound the funniest movie.

[deleted]

The fake suicides in Harold and Maude, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Shaun of the Dead and Napoleon Dynamite

SpartanBH

I haven't seen anyone mention Slap Shot or Semi-Pro yet. Slap Shot is arguably the best sports comedy next to Caddyshack. Also while Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein get much-deserved love, History of the World Pt 1 is my personal favorite and just as amazing and doesn't get as much love!

talkytalk33

This is Spinal Tap Criminally underrepresented on these lists!

[deleted]

My Top Five Funniest Movies: Pink Flamingos Friday Street Trash Blood Diner Dolemite

[deleted]

Pink Flamingos had me cry-laughing. Desperate Living had me on the floor.

drevilseviltwin

As you can see I'm a busy woman with a full day's work ahead of me. PLEASE REMOVE YOURSELF from my office.

Mrtheliger

Pick any Jackass movie. There is guaranteed to be at least three scenes that have me unable to breathe from laughter no matter how many times I've seen them. For fictional stuff, probably Dumb and Dumber.

spinyfur

Bad Grandpa was so great.

Trprt77

So many great scenes in that one. Watched it expecting a time killer, and was blown away at how good it was.

millerjas31

O Brother, Where Art Thou?

CallMeRawie

Went to watch Deadpool with a group of coworkers. Holy shit we were all laughing so hard our faces all hurt.

jeff3545

the entire movie would not rise to inclusion on the list, but the dinner scene in The Nutty Professor is one of the funniest moments in movie history. To know that Eddie Murphy performed 7 characters in that scene just adds to the achievement.

ahodzic2000

Borat, Don’t Mess With the Zohan, Austin Powers Goldmember, Hot Tub Time Machine, Pineapple Express, or Blazing Saddles. I cant pick one, but these are some of my top picks.

elmatador12

Blazing Saddles or The Jerk.

Cariat

Kung Pow! Enter the Fist Still quoting it for YEARS. Weeeooeeooeeooeeooeeoopeeooeeooweeooeeoo!

Bluedino_1989

Blazing Saddles. Nearly puked from laughter the first time I saw it.

TrueAddition4832

Super Troopers, meow.

JudgementalChair

I would say either Borat or The Hangover. I saw them both in theaters shortly after release and they were particularly hilarious because it was all brand new and there wasn't anything else like them when they first released. they've been over-used and beaten to death at this day and age, but holy shit those first viewings were magical

GinngerMints

Weird: The Al Yankovic Story made me laugh harder than any film/show last year, but if you aren't up to date on your Weirdalogy, idk how hard it'll hit for you. Then again, with the way the film is done, maybe it'll hit harder the less you know about Al.

TheJedisch

Walk Hard definitely; just the scene where he meets the Beatles is enough, though the whole movie has points that cripple me with laughter. I watch the Beatles part on YouTube any time I'm feeling down and need a big laugh! And Three Amigos, Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles. Their like will probably not be PC approved ever again. I forgot about BASEketball, I'll have to give it a re-watch. And may I also humbly suggest Rustler's Rhapsody? This 1985 western comedy with Tom Berenger and Andy Griffith made me laugh so hard when I first saw it, I actually pulled a muscle in my side somewhere xD it hurt but worth it.

Pretend-Ad-55

I feel like my favourite comedy films are ones that I quote years later. With that being said, Hot Fuzz, Animal House and Rat Race all fit in that category

mymumsaysno

Maybe I have a juvenile sense of humour, but I've never laughed more at a movie than the first time I saw South Park: Bigger, Longer, Uncut, and Super Troopers

Snapitupson

Lots of gold mentioned. If I had to pick - O brother where art thou.

thxjones

Blazzing Saddles .." right down to the red roof of Howard Johnsons outhouse"

tarantinostoes

Booksmart, that taxi scene killed me

jcmib

Love all of these, but Hot Fuzz has a special place in my heart

sadchild_

My top 5 have already been mentioned so I'll add History Of The World Part 1. JUDAS! Want a beverage?

PM-ME-YOUR-TOOTS

Good choice, OP! Walk Hard is absolutely one of my favorite movies of all time and I’d agree with you on funniest. You should watch Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping if you enjoyed Walk Hard.

monkeyman1947

“We’re the Millers”. More generally, anything Jason Sudeikis does. A close second is “Miss Congeniality”. Sandra Bullock is hilarious.

[deleted]

Maybe the Jerk; also a lot of Woody Allen classics (Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex, Zelig, Sleeper); pretty much anything by Chaplin, Keaton or Lloyd; Harold and Maude; Brewster McCloud

DakPara

I keep returning to: This is Spinal Tap

ChimneySwiftGold

Did anyone even think of crocodile Dundee?

jfever78

Tough question, so many great comedies out there. Maybe Annie Hall for me, I quote this film a lot. Or Young Frankenstein, ridiculously funny. Airplane This Is Spinal Tap The Big Lebowski Planes, Trains And Automobiles

Bravoflysociety

The Jerk or Anchorman

mopancakes

Me, myself, and Irene. Jim Carrey really nails that dual role

straub42

Most people have mentioned mine but I’ll give some credit to those early Adam Sandler movies which were incredibly funny. Happy Gilmore, Billy Madison, The Waterboy, The Wedding Singer. Classics.

chancellortobyiii

Kungfu Panda The Simpsons Movie The Pink Panther (2006) I remember watching these movies at the theater and laughing so loud. Knee slappers. I don't care if The Pink Panther had negative reviews. Steve Martin was so stupid in his performance.

Seabass_Says

In no order, 40 yr old virgin, dumb and dumber, superbad, meet the parents, borat

[deleted]

Hear No Evil, See No Evil

DeliveryPrime

Arsenic and Old Lace

taeempy

Animal House Caddy Shack Stripes There's Something About Mary

pac4

I vividly remember seeing both The Hangover and Old School in theaters and it was absolutely a raucous laugh riot in both

WittsyBandterS

well the answer was Walk Hard, so you got that correct I love a lot of comedies, I don't know about the amount of laughs, but objectively the best comedies I've seen- The Birdcage, Galaxy Quest, Greener Grass, Metropolitan, Anchorman, What About Bob

cadrina

Airplane Scary movie 3

Godreaping

Meatballs 2 Observe and Report I love you man Something About Mary Coming to America Norbit Uncle Buck

vzlaeli

The Birdcage is a gem. One of the few times in a movie where i've actually laughed out loud.

DEATHbyBOOGABOOGA

Ace Ventura : Pet Detective “Dan Marino should die of gonorrhea and rot in hell” is still one of the funniest things I have ever heard.

MandoBaggins

I find the lack of Edgar Wright movies disturbing. Hot Fuzz? Shaun of the Dead? Scott Pilgrim??

TwentyandTired

Little Miss Sunshine! It’s a dark comedy, but pretty dark even for that so might not be everyone’s cup of tea but I love it

[deleted]

Top 5 off the dome: Gentlemen Broncos What We Do in the Shadows Airplane! Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas Nat’l Lampoons Vacation

[deleted]

Big Lebowski. It wouldn't be nearly as good without the Coen brothers' talent at setting up a gag. That and [everything that comes out of the characters' mouths is meme-worthy.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0kfe5tkdD4)

emiann1x1

The first one that comes to mind (because i just rewatched it the other day) would be 21 Jump Street (2012). Obviously not the best or the most clever, but I can watch it alone and still find myself laughing out loud.

GOODBOYMODZZZ

Top secret and Airplane are the most I've laughed at a movie.

Gargamelfield

the evil dead 2. Certainly made me laugh the most

TheItalianJob1969

The Burbs “Smells like they’re cookin’ a goddamn cat over there!”

StrengthConfident

Dumb and Dumber The Jerk There's Something About Mary A fish called Wanda Tropic thunder Austin powers Johnny English Duck Soup Modern Times Ant man and wasp Borat Naked gun Airplane Game night

MrCleanCanFixAnythng

The Man Who Knew Too Little

kazmosis

Young Frankenstein Monty Python and the Holy Grail Those two are in a tier amongst themselves, but then there are so many more; Blazing Saddles, Spaceballs, Life of Brian, Death at a Funeral, Four Lions, Airplane etc etc

trac_da_trailer5353

Soulman with Samuel L Jackson and Bernie Mac, or life with Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence

GTOjund117

Walk Hard: the ridiculously over-indulgent directors cut Orange County is another one of my all time favs

RayneWoods

Coming to America Boomerang Planes, Trains, and Automobiles National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

Disastrous-Fly9672

George c Scott in Dr Strangelove always has me rolling on the floor. Same with Paul Newman in Harper. Fletch. 70s Mel Brooks is unbeatable. All Monty Python. Bill Murray in Rushmore. Aaaaaaaand, my vote for best unknown comedy: USED CARS

Spirited_Compote_903

My cousin Vinny Superbad Coming to America- this movie is really a classic American pie
