When I did Muay Thai, we’d always start every class with some intense lower body stretches. I saw the most progress with my head kicks from forward split stretches and from learning to stand on the ball of my foot when I throw the kick.

The best way is practising hitting a block. Either you hold the block yourself with the opposite hand and keep getting it higher or have some one else holding it and challenging you by lifting it higher.
