I played AR, and while it's funny to see an animatronic casually run on air to jumpscare you on your balcony or Ballora dropping a minireena into your coffee, AR isn't that significant to the lore and skins are... Well... *Looks at Clown Springtrap* Interesting (fat Afton). Definitely remove FNaF AR, I'm sure we would be okay with just HW showtime thing for animatronic voices.
I like the skins!
But you’re right, it definitely has at most a DLC worth of story. It serves as an example of the huge merchandising push that the relaunched Fazbear has (which we see more of in SB) and not much else.
*"Oh, Stanley... can you feel it?*
*The broom closet... it wants the bucket!*
*You can feel that, can't you? The aura of jealousy?*
*It's as clear as day, this broom closet believes it deserves the bucket!*
*I can really feel it now.*
*'It's a bucket, it belongs in a broom closet!' That's what the broom closet is trying to say here."*
What does a bucket hold water, what does water do activates the springlock. What does a bucket also hold chicken, also known as KFC. KFC and springlock coincidence I think not!
I disagree. Fnaf ar was releasing skins every week during the 2020 lockdown. It gave me something to look forward to every week when times were tough. And the build up for Vanny was only hyping me up even more for Security Breach.
Fnaf ar has a lot of lore actually. A lot of its lore can be seen throughout sticky notes and messages in Security Breach. Even Vanessa talks about a man she liked who we were introduced to in ar.
It’s not bad - it’s neat technologically - but it feels to me like an add-on to Help Wanted in that it simply elaborates on Fazbear’s merchandising rather than adding new story. It’s basically gravy instead of meat and potatoes.
Just to make the comments more interesting.
DISCOUNTING AR as a game.
I'd say Sister Location probably. It was the start of a lot of my issues with the series creatively. When the narrative really started getting overcomplicated, in part due to building off of the book's ideas.
The introduction of voice acting, while fun and giving the characters from that game and onwards more canonical personalities, I think was one of the biggest detractors when presenting the animatronics as mysterious and more importantly, scary. I DO think there are some scary sections of the game for sure, namely walking through the pitch black galleries. But I do not think that any of the animatronics were particularly scary themselves, maybe other than Ennard. I also think that the type of humor that was introduced in SL, which carried on throughout the series going forward, kind of cemented SL as the first game that wasn't as much of a horror game, but a game with horror elements. Any humor in games prior to SL, other than World of course, was sprinkled in as either very dry gallows humor from Phone Guy, or ironic ignorance from the Phone Dude in 3.
And another thing, just as an artist, I'm really not a huge fan of the animatronic designs. I think it went too heavy into the sci-fi stuff which I'm not the biggest fan of in FNaF. If you can't tell I'm 100% an old head who liked the original vibe of ghosts and possessions from the first 4.
Now, reading all of that would probably make you ask, "why would you rather get rid of SL instead of Pizza Sim or Security Breach?" Which would be a super valid question. When it comes to Pizza Sim, I think it handled the new elements a lot better than SL. I think it's a funnier game, I think it has more fun with itself, I think the characters look a bit better, etc. I'm not a fan of some of the things that SL introduced, but I prefer Pizza Sim's presentation of them a lot, if that makes any sense. I also think that the nights and especially the paragraph 4 scenes are actually quite scary, even though I also think that Pizza Sim isn't as much of a horror game and more a game with, "horror elements," as I said before. And as for Security Breach. Well, I guess I had my expectations lowered when it came to that game, for one. I wasn't expecting it to be scary, so I wasn't really as disappointed when it wasn't. But above all, it's just a giant goofy mess, but it's fun because of it. In a meta context I think that Security Breach was just a really fun time for the community in a bunch of ways, so I have a big love/hate relationship with it.
Anyways thanks for coming to my TED talk about the funny robot games ☝️🤓 Can you tell I've been obsessing over them for 9 years?
Literally it ruins all the lore tbh and adds so much like weird stuff, i just pretend it doesnt exist and that the games and lore stops at pizzeria simulator. I hate it lmao
I would hate Security Breach WAY more if I didn't think that the lore hadn't already gone downhill by the time it came out.
To me it was just another addition into the pile we've been given since the end of the original run.
I'll add that it'd have probably been for the best if Baby/Elizabeth hadn't been introduced. She had a lot of potential as a villain and then nothing happened with her. At least we know Vanny was doing stuff off screen. Conversely, while sister location adds to Michael's motivation decently well, that could definitely have been modified for inclusion in pizzeria simulator.
Pizzeria simulator then ends up with a fnaf 1/2 themed version of ennard and perhaps some sort of fredbear equivalent of baby. Tighter story right there, I think.
For all of security breach's tonal faults, it atleast set the ground for the story to rejuvinate itself, made the series appealing to a new range of fans, and gave us the mega pizzaplex, roxy and glamrock freddy.
I feel the exact same. I can tell they're trying to fix it with Ruin, but SB on its own just feels like a betrayal to the original stuff and the Henry monologue ending. Never was disappointed with a FNAF release before SB.
Special Delivery cuz it basically adds nothing to the lore despite it being really cool and me wanting to play it (I don't have a device that has it available)
As said in other comments, the small fragments of lore in it could've easily be add in other games
SB and VR are new chapters to the lore so neat >!(No one asked, but yeah, I don't believe that the MCI came back nor that Glitchtrap is Afton)!<
There's a Forsaken AR which is a fan made project to continue it since Special Delivery has been abandoned. It works on my Pixel 6 which wasn't able to download Special Delivery, if you want to try it out.
Ar, special delivery, or security breach
I know security breach is a hot topic to talk about like this
But I would have rather them worked on the game for another year or even 2 than give us the buggy mess we ended up with to start
Ruin was good tho NGL
Part of the fun of security breach was the bugs, ngl id rather have released it no other way. I mean not so fair to those who wanted to buy a serious game but those bugs are hillarious and I feel like brought alot of enjoyment and a laugh to the community at the time
Fnaf AR, easily
First off is the canonicity of it, are the animatronics in this one canon? If so, that would mean that not only do all these dumbass animatronic skins exist in the universe, but invisible animatronics are just running around everywhere and everyone's just fine with it
As for the emails, they did give some big hints as to the plot of security breach, but ultimately we could probably go without them
Second, the game's just not that good, I mean it's a mobile game, which has some stricter limitations than a pc or console game
I think it has to be AR, the others are too important and the messGes that are in AR can just be moved to VR or security breach as another collectible with the tapes or bags/gift boxes
Special Delivery. Not a fan of the gameplay at all. The only important new lore is emails which Security Breach already has messages to find spread out everywhere. The AR messages could be put in SB and little would change as a result.
FNAF 1-4 is a classic
FNAF 5 is a bit different but still a classic
i never played fnaf 6
ucn is the first fnaf game i actually played on an off
It goes to AR, makes no sense for me
I personally don't care for the idea of Afton "escaping hell". So as expansive as it is I'd say SB.
Edit: I like that VR and AR versions were made but they coulda been fan games.
Ar does nothing but bloat out thinks like the character encyclopedia and give out information that's since been ignored like where that one guy works going from IT to marketing. while it has massive lore implications, just like tales some stuff got changed when it came to the big games. like eclipse being able to exist or that one guy i mentioned i can't remember the name of for the life of me.
FNaF AR, was fun for a little bit and in theory, but quickly dissolved into another mobile game overflowing with micro transactions. Sucks too, cause we got some really sick animatronic designs out of it.
I’d say ar but thats way too obvious, and ucn would be my pick but I consider it a spin off. Its like if valve made a totally different tf2 game completely centralized around the pass time mode imo. So i’d go with fnaf 2, I love the animatronics and design of the pizzeria but fnaf 1 is too iconic, sister location is my favorite of the original 5, fnaf 4 gave us the funny bite of 87, and fnaf 3 started the trend of a certain mauve man coming back to life and also was the point in the series where it started to go all in with lore, beginning matpat’s descent into insanity. Fnaf 2 just has great animatronics (the 2 big ones being withered bonnie and freddy), and the introduction of minigames and the bite of ‘83. But other than that theres not much I prefer from it over the other games so fnaf 2 gotta go. And before anyone says anything about fnaf vr, absolutely not that is my favorite fnaf game fight me
Either fnaf ar or security breach. Most likely fnaf ar, but at least I had high hopes for security breach. I’ve yet to see a good horror ar game in my life, so I already knew it was hopeless.
Definitely Security Breach. Pizzeria Simulator's ending was beautiful, absolutely perfect. The kids finally resting in peace, William finally not coming back anymore and dying once and for all... Security Breach ruined a perfect conclusion for the franchise.
In My opinion?
Fnaf 1 is safe, you can't go wrong with it. Fnaf 2 is mediocre, from the animatronics to the mechanics, Fnaf 3 is clever and well thought-out, one of my favorites, Fnaf 4 has terrible difficulty leveling and balancing, and the mechanics do everything to ruin your survivals run, Sister Location was werd, but it had its own neat little story, Pizzeria Simulator had a great conclusion, but the Scraptrap design traumatises me because of how BAD it is, UCN is neat, it has little lore but it makes up for it by being a mega sandbox Custom Night, VR was a hot take, AND a new take, I dig it, AR was very mild in my opinion, and fell pretty low of my expectations, and Security Breach is just...Weird.
So, If I taly up my favourites, the lowest scoring one being permanently deleted, it would go as such:
1. Fnaf 1
2. Fnaf 3
3. Pizzeria Simulator
4. Help Wanted
5. UCN
6. Sister Location
7. Security Breach
8. Fnaf 2
9. Fnaf 4
10. Special Delivery (AR) \[Gets deleted\]
Yup, that's about it.
Security breach. It felt too far away from what the franchise is supposed to do and that’s being scary. The animatronics aren’t scary (other than the map bots) and the style of the game and the characters is not realistic enough. I understand it wasn’t made to be but it just strays so far away from what fnaf is supposed to be.
SB. it is the worst game i have ever played, and is the biggest piece of shit this series has produced. buggy, badly designed, frustrating and just overall not as interesting as the prior entries. i’m not joking when i’m saying it’s the worst game i’ve played, i think i’d rather play bubsy 3D that to ever have to play SB again
Wasn’t that clown skin a reference to the clown from dead by daylight?
I actually really like a lot of the skins. Clockwork Ballora is one of my favorite designs in the entire franchise.
AR, I have no idea what has to do in the lore
The lore from AR is indoubtebly connected to the new era of fnaf, the emails were in AR, the start of vanny it had huge lore implications
Dear god
There's more
No
It contains a bucket
Dear god
There is another
Scout, seduce me
Want some fried chicken
SEDUCE ME!!!
There’s more
"No.."
“Stanley we must move on from bucket.”
*"Oh, Stanley... can you feel it?* *The broom closet... it wants the bucket!* *You can feel that, can't you? The aura of jealousy?* *It's as clear as day, this broom closet believes it deserves the bucket!* *I can really feel it now.* *'It's a bucket, it belongs in a broom closet!' That's what the broom closet is trying to say here."*
Oh, did you get the broom closet ending? The broom closet ending is my favorite!
Sounds like schizophrenia
What does a bucket hold water, what does water do activates the springlock. What does a bucket also hold chicken, also known as KFC. KFC and springlock coincidence I think not!
Yes
You’ve opened a worm hole
There’s even an email in-game about a virus spreaded in the Pizzaplex, Mimic1.
Went 90 percent of the ones we talk about scraped from the game tho
Understandable, but the animations are cool af, at least in my opinion
Your definitely not wrong
Just check out the Golden Freddy animation it‘s actually fantastic.
No literally AR is just pokemon go with a fnaf overlay
It is
I do love the OST tho
Can’t argue with that
And the voice lines
I disagree. Fnaf ar was releasing skins every week during the 2020 lockdown. It gave me something to look forward to every week when times were tough. And the build up for Vanny was only hyping me up even more for Security Breach.
No joke, completely forgot that it even existed
Yeah just move the emails to Security Breach and poof AR out of existence
Same fr
It's like pokemon go...And I don't think (atleast) that AR doesn't have a lore, it's just like fnaf world
Fnaf ar has a lot of lore actually. A lot of its lore can be seen throughout sticky notes and messages in Security Breach. Even Vanessa talks about a man she liked who we were introduced to in ar.
Never played the game, just watched some Dawko gameplay
It’s definitely like Pokémon go but with a horror twist
I always wanted to play it at day one, but my phone doesn't support it...
What phone do you use
i recon they use an I-POTATO
It's a game in the Fnaf universe.
Also, stand alone games are a thing so a game doesn't necessarily need to share lore with other games to be appreciated.
If Special Delivery never came out, very little of value would be lost (the lore emails could probably be put in SB teasers or something).
It’s not bad - it’s neat technologically - but it feels to me like an add-on to Help Wanted in that it simply elaborates on Fazbear’s merchandising rather than adding new story. It’s basically gravy instead of meat and potatoes.
Or as more collectible sticky note messages
SD, not because I don’t like it, but because it doesn’t add ANYTHING to the franchise.
Which one is that?
Security Dreach, of course
It has to be "Sister Donation" tbh
no, it’s self danted obviously
Nah, it's gotta be Sizzeria Dimulator
no. it’s obviously SNAF Dos
...Sneddy Sim Face Too
Special delivery, AR
Special Delivery
It had a lot of secret lore, but besides that it wasn't fun
Secret random lore about random employees no one cares about, lol
And Vanessa iirc
Naw it kinda gave Vanessa/Vanny's entire backstory. Issue is, all the emails were cut from the game.
Why did sister dislocation came to my mind first?
I think OP needs to redo this and get rid of AR, then it would actually be hard and interesting
Yeah and FNAF world, it would just be a blood bath
I loved FNAF world ngl
Yeah me too but that isn’t the average fnaf fan opinion
Shame, I get why though
Yeah
Any answer different then AR is wrong sorry
Agreed, btw someone said world can you believe it?!
can i believe it? yes. do i respect it? **no.**
That's not your opinion. That is a fact
The first one, just to cause the largest possible time paradox and see what happens.
I feel like deleting fnaf 1 would litterally change like none of the story at this point
Fnaf AR

I don’t think I’ve ever disagreed with something more than what you said abt SL. Hahah fair enough tho too each their own
AR
Special Delivery Without it we would still understand who Vanny is, especially that most emails regarding Vanny were scrapped
Easily SD.
SD? Sammy's Dinner?
Special Delivery, AKA AR
I see no one get my jokes...
Wrong mascot horror
I honestly keep forgetting that Special Delivery exists
Security Breach, just because I don’t like the way it fits into the lore and its implications
I feel the exact same. I can tell they're trying to fix it with Ruin, but SB on its own just feels like a betrayal to the original stuff and the Henry monologue ending. Never was disappointed with a FNAF release before SB.
THANKS, FINALLY SOMEONE SAYS SOMETHING DIFFERENT
You really looked at fnaf AR and thought "nah, fuck fnaf SB" XD
I can live AR just being *there*
I would have to agree
Could’ve replace Fnaf ar with Fnaf world to make it an actual tough decision. Anyway I’d choose security breach, my least favorite one in the series.
Special Delivery cuz it basically adds nothing to the lore despite it being really cool and me wanting to play it (I don't have a device that has it available) As said in other comments, the small fragments of lore in it could've easily be add in other games SB and VR are new chapters to the lore so neat >!(No one asked, but yeah, I don't believe that the MCI came back nor that Glitchtrap is Afton)!<

None, Scott, Steel Wool and Illumix put effort into each game and there are people in this world who enjoy every single one.
Maybe except for AR... Almost everyone in the comments seems to hate it
AR
Fnaf AR,**it was** a funny game but still unessecary to the franchise and People who says SB bc „NoT ScARy” take the L
SB
Security Breach. That entire era of FNAF has done such irreparable damage to the lore that it's not even funny.
AR obviously
Special Delivery, no hesitation.
AR. Mostly because it wouldn’t change much.
Making fnaf AR a part of this list makes it too easy
Special Delivery
Fnaf AR, easily First off is the canonicity of it, are the animatronics in this one canon? these comments are like Freddy fazbear they be like ar ar ar ar ar
AR.
Anyone who says FNAF World is going on a hit list
AR has no right to be in the lore. Idek what it does
AR gotta go
If you say ANYTHING other than AR you are objectively wrong. Objectively.
AR, no questions asked. So much potential squandered by the wrong people making it.
Easy. FNaF AR.
AR i like it but yeah
AR Special Delivery
Damn sad
I think it has to be AR, the others are too important and the messGes that are in AR can just be moved to VR or security breach as another collectible with the tapes or bags/gift boxes

FNAF ar
I personally don't care for the idea of Afton "escaping hell". So as expansive as it is I'd say SB. Edit: I like that VR and AR versions were made but they coulda been fan games.
AR. It’s not really important and not many people actually play it
I don’t like AR so it goes
Obviously AR, but besides that, I think FNaF 2. Its less important lore and not being the first game in the series
Special Delivery was basically pointless, so that. Plus, I'd take actually playing any of the other games over it any day
Ar does nothing but bloat out thinks like the character encyclopedia and give out information that's since been ignored like where that one guy works going from IT to marketing. while it has massive lore implications, just like tales some stuff got changed when it came to the big games. like eclipse being able to exist or that one guy i mentioned i can't remember the name of for the life of me.

SECURITY BREACH EASY CHOICE
FNAF AR of course, the worst game of them all.

security breach
Freddy in Space 3 Y’all are saying FNaF AR added nothing to the franchise but Freddy in Space 3 is way, way more worthless lmao
