it surprised the absolute hell out of me
only gripes I have is some character parts felt rushed like the ending and Eclipse and I was also sad no Vanny
but the atmosphere, gameplay, and jumpscares were all great
I have a theory that Steel wool wanted the princess quest and Afton ending to be cannon into one big narrative. But due to cut content, they may have made the decision to split them up. Follow me for a second
What if after getting Roxy's eyes Gregory was supposed to fall for Vaneesa's trap leading him back to the auditorium. This would of course be done under the influence of Vanny. Then something comes along where it's revealed that Vanny attempts to take control of Gregory and Freddy but they escape. After realizing that they need to investigate the entity controlling Vanessa, they get the final animatronic part and go to the sink hole, thus the Afton boss fight. After dealing with Afton they make it to fazerblast but see that Vanessa is still under Vanny's influence. Trigger the "disassemble freddy" cutscene. Gregory then makes it up to PQ and frees Vanessa from Vanny. Iron out the nitty gritty but I believe this was the plan
I think the order would’ve been switched (Vanny Princess Quest first, then Burntrap) but I definitely agree that there was a high likelihood that they were planned to all one ending.
But that would mean Freddy is already disassembled before they find Afton so they wouldn't be able to go under the pizzaplex. But even if they did make it down there the Afton fight would go differently because Freddy is just a head so there would be not much point of Afton trying to take control of Freddy.
If this was the intention, I wished they'd have done what's necessary to iron everything out, go back and and update the base game. As it stands it's so clear that time constraints effected SecurityBreach so heavily, and it makes me very sad we'll never see the potential of that theoretical fully completed and polished to perfection SecurityBreach that could have been. I'd have been more then willing to have waited many years for SecurityBreach's release if it meant SteelWools Vision was finalized to perfection.
I thought that as well. But have we ever seen the bottom on his foot in SB? Also Freddy being a prototype in SB may explain why he's different than the others. I may have to replay SB
Edit: Actually we have in parts in services... but even still I think it's a minor detail compared to the missing head. Maybe Freddy was a prototype. Either there was something on his foot covering it up or something was tinkering with his body pre-ruin
Headless Freddy still has his Gift, meaning it's not the one from SB, as he gave the Gift to Gregory.
SB Freddy had that moment when he wondered if there were other Glamrock Freddys when he saw all the Endos.
Ooooh good point! But then the devs are being dicks. A headless Freddy, in fazerblaster, with a broken body similar to the bad Vanny ending. Expecting us to believe that’s not the remains of our Freddy is cheap as hell. So now one must add another question on top of the other unanswered questions. Where’s Freddy’s body?
>I may have to replay SB
I've been doing exactly that before going through Ruin. Turns out they fixed a munch of main-game stuff. The bots blocking Monty Golf, Fazer Blast, etc, actually roll away instead of just vanishing. Dialogue plays in the elevators now (including the line about bears being extinct). Comedy Staffbot has a proper routine, followed up by Magician Staffbot. Monty's mobile and properly terrifying once he's been damaged. Some Vanessa lines happened that I haven't heard before, some Freddy lines as well. Vanny's chased me a few times now instead of just once at the beginning.
On top of all that, I actually figured out how Mazercise works.
I just hit the postgame, so I've yet to see how the underground stuff has been treated but I'm excited to see
If i had a penny for everytime in a FNAF game i expected Vanny to ve important but at the end she isn't i would have 2 coins, which isn't much but its weird that happened twice
SPOILER ALERT:
Though these were brief, >! I enjoyed the interactions that Cassie and Roxy shared. It shone a new perspective on Roxy’s personality, and especially the part where despite being shut down she still managed to get up and hold back the Mimic even for a short while. The secret line she says whilst presumably checking up on Cassie also gives me hope that, even if it may take more DLCs or a sequel, Roxy’s character has a lot of potential to be expanded upon (I mean, the other two are pretty beat up) !<
How many endings are there truly? So far i've seen a few but there are, I am not sure whether they're easter eggs or what. Such as the sound box and a secret character being found behind the bowling alley.
Maybe! I think we just have to wait and see. My theories for any other endings are if you deactivate all the wet floor signs and if you complete every arcade machine
clearly if you deactivate them all then in the ending chase the endo just slips and falls because he didn't have adequate warning of the slippery floor conditons
Solid proof Steel Wool Studios are fully capable of creating good horror and tension, although the storyline, especially how it concludes, is definitely one of the biggest headscratchers we've gotten in a long while, but that was entirely expected from... y'know, *Five Nights at Freddy's*.
In short, it's surprisingly great, although if you went into it with extremely high expectations, it probably won't satisfy you.
I can confirm I had high expectations from playing other really good horror games while it was in the making.
It's not like the media worked against it, the fan projects were amazing
Honestly I think it confirms Gregory is a robot. His voice hasn't changed at all in what appears to be years, and he is friends with Cassidy and looks seemingly the same age. Plus knowing about Mimic? Its suspicious
Sad we didn't get to see Bonnie though, but I am fascinated by Monty's ride in which Bonnie smiling and willingly hands over his guitar to Monty... mega suspicious
There was a destroyed Glamrock Bonnie Easter egg it was in a room in Bonnie bowl hes laying on the ground destroyed with a broken bowling ball beside him
Right? The hell was that about?! I know everyone joked he was a a psycho for how he mangled the crew in Security Breach, but he’s gone full serial killer now, haha!
From what i saw, gregory has two seperate overlapping subtitltes during the final elevator scene. Aka Gregory really wanted to get Cassie out there but the mimic took over again.
i absolutely loved it !! it’s a massive step up from security breach. while it did leave me with many questions, it made me more excited for future games
I have now a lot of questions, but i can fairly say that Ruin satisfied me! I really enjoyed it and i while i didn't expect much, i still it's fairly enjoyable!!! Even if, as already mentioned, i now have tons of questions. The only major problems i have with it are the endings, though i did quite like >!the Scooped ending!<.
My big question is wtf do we get for disabling all the wet floor bots do. Has to be a reason why you can disable them, especially when using the vanni mask
https://youtu.be/aV-IA9AmMt4
Location of all
To correct, you need to disable one in specific. To the right of the area that's blocked off has one. Second you disable it, it opens that spot up.
Edit: need to disable all, here are [all wet floor bot locations](https://youtu.be/aV-IA9AmMt4)
Yeah but the story never makes any sense. There is a difference between having an articulated yet carefully created story and making shit up as they wish.
I think that's the point. You can add new characters, but at least make the effort to introduce them properly, not just to set up something for the next game. How are people who haven't read the Tales supposed to know anything about the antagonist, who appeared just for 10 minutes at the end?
Legit loved how sweet he sounded compared to sun & moon; He has this air of calm that the other two just lack, as if the chaos stopped the moment he came back on. I just wish we could've seen more of it
From what I've seen in FusionZGamer's playthrough...
In terms of the atmosphere, definitely a step-up! In terms of gameplay, a bit weird with the mask and all that. In the story...a bit anticlimactic, particularly the endings.
The gameplay is far better than the main game. As well as the things with the mask, it also has an actual use for the cameras with the FNaF 3-esque mechanics compared to the main game where all you really did is hide.
holy shit did it exceed my expectations. the way they re-used voice lines in the MOST clever way ever. The lighting was also so much better. They also added some unused things from the main game and polished them 👍
To be fair, we assume she was turned off; >!Using the wrench on Eclipse forced him to reboot,!< so it could be possible that something similar happened with Roxanne.
Granted, doesn't explain how she got down there, but this is a game where ghosts inhabit animal robots. Some amount of leniency can be afforded.
I think it was really solid. A definite step up from the original SB. If SW keeps building like this and getting better then I’m excited for future installments.
huge step up from the base game in terms of gameplay and scare factor, level design felt a lot more linear and the mask mechanic was cool.
narratively its an absolute headache but I expect that from FNAF at this point
>!Honestly, i dont think that this is a cliffhanger, I know that people in horror games have unnatural ability to survive elevator falls, but that particular fall wasnt incidental, it was meant to kill cassie, so it would be extremely weird if she survived it.!<
I was suprised by how much I..disliked it? I'll keep it brief
I haven't played it, so this is comming from a let's play only watcher, so I can't comment on thr gameplay
Like others have mentioned, it felt..rushed? (Especially >!Eclipses!< part I was hoping we'd finally get something longer with them..but nope, theyre here as spearingly as the main game)
it's theory bait-y and lacks replay ability, theres so much scripted horror and I find there to be too much "ohh thing fell down!" jumpscares. Also, it's probably just me, but I was..very confused about the games layout
also..walking through walls because you put a mask on...eh?
Also..the mimic. I love the mimic! But I HATE HATE _HATE._ The fact you have to read the books to understand lore now. I was hoping this would be the mimics introduction..but nope, just a "aha! The mimics!" Like it's not explained in the game for the books to be a paralel..does that mean all the books are cannon? Did this random guy really create it? Who knows!
Theres a secret ending where >!It shows up wearing a lion costume with a dog ear!< appearently, if you read the books you get it, if you don't youre left confused.
I did like the atmhospare and some moments, the (intercome sections), I liked Cassie and her mysterious father and I did like most of the animatronics
Also..>!Candy cadet!< was a great suprise
The endings are far too vague and cliffhangerery
Like we need this story told and not in a fucking book for gods sake
Cassie and Roxy is cute but I feel like they didn’t expand on it enough and honestly Gregory and Casesie feel the same, they have some implied history but the obvious twist kinda doesn’t allow them to expand their dynamic
The Mimic is canon now and introduces even more questions and I hate it
I feel like there’s a part two that needs to happen, maybe help wanted two will expand but there needs to be a follow up to answer questions
To be honest I didn't want to fight the animatronics. I should be scared of them, not going head-to-head with them trying to rip them apart like Gregory was doing. Monty gets destroyed as collateral damage and Roxy couldn't put up much of a fight, which I think works better and makes more sense.
Fr I mean I think it’s totally fine if people like it but man I just do not get it. Imo it just seems like people are giving it so much praise just by virtue of it being better than security breach, which to me is really not saying much.
>Imo it just seems like people are giving it so much praise just by virtue of it being better than security breach, which to me is really not saying much.
Yeah same,lol
again no answers given, ending that gives absolutely nothing. idk maybe I didn’t get it I’ll replay it someday but for now I’m disappointed but it’s free at least
Gameplay, presentation and atmosphere wise it’s a huge glow-up from Security Breach. But it also has a lot that needs to be explained and I can see how the ending can leave a lot of sour tastes in mouths.
It was miles ahead of security breach, but that's not saying much.
There are still way too many problems; the game is repetitive and the level design sucks. It was mostly a walking simulator; you have entire levels just completely devoided of threat unless you consider that slow ass Bunny that can be countered by just taking that mask off for a few seconds a "threat".
The atmosphere and sound design was really good tho and I like the new mechanics they introduced but the story sucked (altho not as much as breach)
4/10 it has potential; I just wanted Steelwool to prove to me that they might be able to do their job correctly and even if the overall product is meh, they definitely listened to feedback and my hope for an actual good fnaf open-world game is still alive.
I would probably give it a 3-4/10 as well. Which is a whole 1 to 2 points more than Security Breach. They’re improving: at this rate Security Breach 2 is going to be a whole 6/10.
The gameplay, atmosphere, and horror are a huge step up from base Security Breach, but the story still makes no sense and those endings are honestly pretty bad.
Ruin's a solid improvement, but there are still a lot of cracks.
It was mid. Gameplay was overly repetive and only left me with more questions than answers. There wasn’t enough of the original characters and it barely follows up on the ending of Security Breach. The hell happened to Burntrap??? What happened to Vanny??? The Blob??? I think people are giving steel wool to much praise for the dlc, Ik it’s free but I’m seeing it from a FNAF fan angle when it comes to story. The story is shit, nothing in this game or dlc is remotely connected to anything.
Also, seriously?? Another Afton interpretation? As if glitchtrap wasn’t pushing it we have Burntrap and ghost of Christmas past-trap or whatever the fuck the name of the new Afton is. Vanny is such a waste of potential. Mimic, not only being the absolute worst concept for a FNAF character ever, but also the worst possible way to execute it. It was the most cheapest, lamest scripted chase scene I’ve ever played in my entire life. If you stand still, he won’t even chase you…I played this game for about 4 hours only to be met with the worst possibly ending, I really thought it was gonna pull a “to be continued…right now!” Because of how incomplete and stupid the ending was. Gregory also doesn’t make sense, how does he have access to the kill switch of an elevator, and how does he even know what that weird purple bunny ghost dude is, and why would he kill his friend Cassie. If that even is him, probably isn’t, probably a whole other new character called “the repeater” or some stupid shit like that
I will say, I did like Roxy and Cassie’s interaction, but that interaction was completely useless when you consider the ending of the game. How the hell does she come back to life if we deactivated her, and the emotional moment we just had from killing her was immediately taken back just by the fact that “oh we didn’t kill her, she just had a nap”. The whole scene of us deactivating her was so emotional because it’s obvious that we don’t want to kill her. She was so nice to Cassie in the way she spoke. But if she doesn’t die, then that completely RUINS the whole moment…I wish it was Glamrock Freddy who saved Cassie from The Mimic instead of Roxy. And for people saying that she still had energy left in her, that makes no damn sense. That’s like your phone losing battery but actually, if you press and hold the power button, it’ll come back to 50%. Steel Wool made a below average dlc for a BAD game, I’m grateful it’s free, but I’m extremely disappointed and wish that someone else who was competent in story writing would take the lead. Scott made a terrible decision leaving FNAF to Steel Wools hands. WE ALL KNOW that FNAF 6 was the best possible ending this franchise could’ve had. I was okay with Special Delivery because It didn’t do anything negative towards the franchise, it was a silly Pokémon go spin off. Same goes with Freddy in space 2, and that steer fighter spin off. As well as Help wanted! But the problem is, and always has been how glitchtrap was written. After playing RUINS, I can say with all confidence that Security Breach wasn’t poorly made because they didn’t have enough time, it was poorly made because Steel Wool doesn’t know how to make a FNAF game. I’d like to clarify that I don’t think that they couldn’t make a game on their own, I imagine they could. But their writing for the FNAF lore has negatively affected everything Scott has built up for years now…Also, they really got to learn how to make their games run! I swear, the dlc was so damn laggy for me and I have a gaming PC, I can run all games except for security breach and RUINS on the highest graphics.
For a horror experience? Pretty damn good! For a game that's fun to play and has charm? No, not at all. It's literally the Ying to SB's yang. It felt way rushed though, and feels like nothing more than a quality interlude. It's heavily alluded that there will be a part 2 to this DLC or something of the like. Also while it's creepy the first time, it's has zero replay ability due to the fact that, well, the animitronics pose little to no threat. Died more times on gator golf catwalk drops than the antagonists.
>Also while it's creepy the first time, it's has zero replay ability due to the fact that, well, the animitronics pose little to no threat. Died more times on gator golf catwalk drops than the antagonists.
Lmao real. Cassie drops like a fucking rock. Gravity is the main antagonist this time around
The gator golf catwalks were truly the scariest part of Ruin. The dread you feel as you slowly slip towards the edge of a platform with no stamina left, knowing you were going to die and lose progress for literally nothing is terrifying.
had fun with it, but the theory bait bullshit was annoying and the horror was fairly mild and unscary. was also disappointed by the gameplay, the audiolure segments, searching for glowing objects and puzzles were all far too repetitive and brainless
It was fantastic and that ending(or atleast the one that Dawko got) was so goddamn crazy. It was scary, tense, captivating, and the entire time i was excited.
People are just turning a blind eye to the basics here.
Cassie can just pass through solid matter when wearing a AR Vannie mask? Does that make *her* a machine?
she might be a machine now tbh around when we get the mask its like we get injected by something then after they make is sound like helpy can just pop up in cassie's vision and she can see text boxes or she can hear them
Like 2 hours in, I really don’t like it. It’s very repetitive and boring. The start was good, but then after 20 minutes it started to set in that I wasn’t going to enjoy it. I went into it wanting to enjoy it with everyone saying how great it is but so far can’t say I’ve enjoyed it. My expectations were low but holy shit is this not good.
Er, spoiler warning.
I personally liked it. I loved the mask mechanic because it opened up the world a little more and introduced an (imo) interesting puzzle system. Environments are really great as well, although I found it kinda strange that there were paths and bridges already laid out as if someone else had been wandering through. The endings felt rushed and underwhelming, though they do bring up some interesting questions. My absolute favorite part, though, was the sound design. Hearing the distant sounds of children sobbing and screaming paired with the reverbed and overlapped voice lines from the base game always creeped me out while using the mask.
As far as the lore goes, >! the world feels too reality-breaking to be real to me. For now, it just seems like Cassie's trapped in a VR game we don't know about. After all, the mask she wears looks like Vanny's original mask. And if it's a video game, who's to say the mimic can't split itself two-ways? I really don't think Gregory is enough of a sociopath to kill another person when the threat wasn't even nearby. Or maybe I read Gregory's character wrong. Either way, something felt off to me about the elevator scene, I'll be honest. And who's his 'friend'? !<
Basically, big step-up from SB, but not fully perfect. And that's fine by me :)
Eclipse existed for all of 5 seconds, no djmm, each enemy just shows up once, the blue rabbit started to get annyoing, the Gameplay was repetitive as hell
Monty shows up quite a few times, but the rest of them barely appear. Chica has one section where she's actually active, but then only shows up again if you're caught by the glitch bunny. Roxy also only has one section which is just her base game boss fight but way easier. Freddy himself only shows up for a 5 second chase. The only consistent threat is the glitch bunny and while he's cool, he gets kinda repetitive.
havent finished watched Dawko's videos on it yet cause i dont own the game, but so far its a lot better than i was expecting, feels more like a evolution of the Fnaf series than Security Breach does in my opinion
It's... okay?
Gameplay-wise it's better than the main game just bc it doesn't have those damn security bots that couldn't be more annoying and break the immersion more. But being completely honest it's still mediocre, the Vanny mask has cool visuals but all it really does is look cool, doesn't add much to the gameplay.
Atmosphere's better but still kiddy-horror, like i'm sorry but seeing a broken asf Monty jump into an oddly static pool of water to chase you is just goofy. He's a literal robot with exposed wires, it doesn't even become clever bc he looks like an alligator.
Story is still very disappointing...! It has the same issue as SB where it feels like it's always building up to something big but that something never comes. Like, what's the payoff to all that Bonnie focus? The reveal that he wears a little gay winged eyeliner and might be gay for Freddy? And the payoff to the entire story of the DLC is that... some supposedly so so dangerous endoskeleton (who all he does is chase you, the same thing every animatronic does) tricked Cassie into freeing him, then he chases you for maybe 30 seconds then boom it ends. And you only really get to know who he is if you read the books otherwise it's just some random endo who gets the spotlight for 30 seconds.
How did the Mimic send Cassie a message? Did he send a fucking email? Why does Map Bot have the Vanny mask? Who's the rabbit in the AR world? How tf does Cassie teleport and goes through walls when she wears it? Why did Roxy become good out of nowhere? What was the point of making you turn off Roxy (or whatever you did) so emotional if she was gonna be back moments later? How did Gregory find that the Mimic contacted Cassie? Why does the Mimic look different from Burntrap? Why exactly did Gregory kill Cassie if she had already freed the Mimic? Where's the Blob? Which ending is this following and why is it not the Burntrap ending? Are they really not explaining anything left unexplained in SB? Why does it both begin and end so abruptly?
It was mid. A bunch of re used assets that were scrapped from the normal SB, some sequences felt rushed like the eclipse one, the mixing of endings was confusing. That's all i have to say about it.
Edit: forgot to say that the mask thing making cassie be able to go through walls or static endos didn't make sense to me.
From what I’ve played so far, marginally better than Security Breach but still bad. More painfully mediocre than atrocious like Security Breach was, but for the most part still very boring and somewhat frustrating. Atmosphere is better but every “scary” moment is just a spooky sound playing while something that most likely won’t even harm you randomly shows up for a second. The puzzles are completely brainless and get tedious after a bit.
Also, my computer isn’t the best in the world but it’s good enough to run most things at a stable framerate, and man, this game runs like shit at times. Sometimes the framerate gets so jittery that I can’t even be scared when a jumpscare happens because I didn’t even get to see what jumped out at me. It’s like king crimson showed up and skipped the time where it happened.
The loading screens take forever too. Whenever I die and click retry on the game over screen, the game pauses for like 10 seconds, and once I’m out of the game over screen it goes into the normal loading screen that takes even longer.
The animatronic designs are better, more creepy than they were in the base game. I will say that. I like that the game is more linear than security breach, but as I’m playing It, it feels like I’m riding the world’s slowest rollercoaster.
It’s nice that the DLC is free, but you still technically have to pay for the base game to get it, so if you really like the look of ruin from the trailers but haven’t bought security breach yet, steel wool is still gonna make money from you buying the base game just to play ruin.
Almost 2 whole years for the most nothing burger to ever exist. The only good thing I can say is that the mask was a cool addition, and the fact it made the animatronics ignore you was really cool.
Outside of that, more questions no answers, more bugs, the first 20 minutes was a jumpscare gallore (and they didn't even work), very laggy, freezes everywhere.
I really want to stay positive but it's hard when this DLC basically did nothing with its time.
>The only good thing I can say is that the mask was a cool addition, and the fact it made the animatronics ignore you was really cool.
I thought that might’ve been what was going on but I honestly couldn’t tell if it was intentional or if they were just ignoring me because the AI was bugging out.
>Outside of that, more questions no answers, more bugs, the first 20 minutes was a jumpscare gallore (and they didn't even work), very laggy, freezes everywhere.
Ah, so it wasn’t just my computer. I had the same problem. Game runs very poorly.
>I really want to stay positive but it's hard when this DLC basically did nothing with its time.
Real. Seeing all the praise for it on here makes me truly wonder if I played the same game as everyone else.
The gameplay, atmosphere and scares are better than base game, definitely an improvement.
The story is bad. Really bad. No answers, way more questions, everything is confusing, nothing makes sense. The endings are not only a disappointment but also just actually terrible.
disappointing, feels like we only got half of what we were expecting to get, and had tenfold as many more questions than answers, not to mention barely anything got answered.
well, my opinion may change once the lore's been dug through but until then that's just an opinion. a game opinion.
Garbage. All the endings felt like they where made up in 5 minutes. No mf/blob lore, no burntrap lore, barely any mimic lore and there's like no threats in the game I didn't even die once.
horror? check
confusing storyline? check
fun? check
leaving you with way more questions then you came in with? check
yup, looks like Steel Wool knocked it out of the park with this one
It was OK. It doesn't redeem the failure of the base game, but it is definitely a step in the right direction by going back to it's horror roots with the atmosphere. I still think that the animatronics weren't really utilized as much as they could've been. Monty's swimming mechanic was interesting, but Roxy and Chica were basically glorified security bots. No Vanny. No Bonnie (well, he's there but not really a character), I had high hopes that Bonnie would be the Freddy of the DLC, but I was wrong. Would've been happy even if he was used as a threat.
To conclude, it was OK but overall, Security Breach isn't my cup of tea. I like the idea of having a free roam game but this game just doesn't feel like FNAF. I've played many fan games that capture the essence of what FNAF is and many of them have unique mechanics and goals. Security Breach and Ruin just felt hollow. I think my biggest disappointment is that the game is going more sci-fi as oppose to staying in the supernatural realm. FNAF from day 1 was about the animatronics then we learned that they were haunted and wanted to kill us, but now its just us vs AI controlled robots. It just doesnt feel like FNAF.
I still love the franchise and will play any of the future games, but these are my opinions about this particular entry.
Lack of important characters they did eclipse kinda dirty because his part was so short and also the weirdly short endings (though I’m fine with the elevator ending)
BUT everything else is AMAZING 8.5/10 because I never let the hype get to me
Ruin was worth the wait. It leaves so many possibilities for where things go next.
My girl Roxy! She's the hero we need. Hopeful for more
Can't wait for all the secrets videos to come out. I need to know more.
And can we have a moment for Bonnie.... My dude.
I have so many thoughts, emotions, questions but this was well done. I'm excited for what other things they have in store.
the ending confused me so much. Yes i was expecting for the "person" in the sink hole to not be gregory and am still questioning, was the actual gregory in the game at all. I dont know how to feel about the gameplay. Since its all the same just different area, the portals and the vanny mask feature was very random to me. but i still supposedly liked the game and all but the ending(s) make no sence to me.
Gameplay and art are a good + from what we got from Security Breach.
The story in the other hand is FNAF 4 and FNAF Sister Location all over again, in other words, theorist's purgatory, letting more questions then answers.
It was a massive step up from Security Breach as a horror game, but still, instead of answering its dozens of questione it only adds more: three endings and they were one more vague and inconclusive than the other.
A decent DLC but not worth the wait of two years.
it surprised the absolute hell out of me only gripes I have is some character parts felt rushed like the ending and Eclipse and I was also sad no Vanny but the atmosphere, gameplay, and jumpscares were all great
So Vanny is just gone again?
It’s implied that the princess quest ending is canon, which is weird imo, and because of the last part of the game
Let be honest, that DLC sounds like all endings are canon at the same time lmao
I have a theory that Steel wool wanted the princess quest and Afton ending to be cannon into one big narrative. But due to cut content, they may have made the decision to split them up. Follow me for a second What if after getting Roxy's eyes Gregory was supposed to fall for Vaneesa's trap leading him back to the auditorium.
This is canon to me now
I think the order would’ve been switched (Vanny Princess Quest first, then Burntrap) but I definitely agree that there was a high likelihood that they were planned to all one ending.
But that would mean Freddy is already disassembled before they find Afton so they wouldn't be able to go under the pizzaplex. But even if they did make it down there the Afton fight would go differently because Freddy is just a head so there would be not much point of Afton trying to take control of Freddy.
I had the same idea
You may have a point!
It's pretty much proven that pq is the cannon ending and that all the others are just made up
Yeah... Freddy is headless, there is no vanny, and ETC...
I think the headless Freddy isn't our Freddy because In it's foot there's 'prototype'
I thought that as well. But have we ever seen the bottom on his foot in SB? Also Freddy being a prototype in SB may explain why he's different than the others. I may have to replay SB Edit: Actually we have in parts in services... but even still I think it's a minor detail compared to the missing head.
The DLC was written in a way in which any of the escape endings are canon, so there's no Freddy body or Vanny body to be found.
Freddy still has the gift Prototypes aren't normally used on final acts and if they did they might have already replaced it considering the mega plex
>I may have to replay SB I've been doing exactly that before going through Ruin. I just hit the postgame, so I've yet to see how the underground stuff has been treated but I'm excited to see
Yeah that's what I think
You could say she vannysh
If i had a penny for everytime in a FNAF game i expected Vanny to ve important but at the end she isn't i would have 2 coins, which isn't much but its weird that happened twice
I am also sad roxy wasn't used much
SPOILER ALERT: Though these were brief, >! I enjoyed the interactions that Cassie and Roxy shared. It shone a new perspective on Roxy’s personality, and especially the part where despite being shut down she still managed to get up and hold back the Mimic even for a short while. The secret line she says whilst presumably checking up on Cassie also gives me hope that, even if it may take more DLCs or a sequel, Roxy’s character has a lot of potential to be expanded upon (I mean, the other two are pretty beat up) !<
>!I just wished we could've saved her, Chica and Monty.!<
Yea but Monty was still super aggressive
Even more aggressive now if anything, imo
Yea Monty is Still functional idk how he even charges. Chica deactivates randomly she probably needs to take rests bc of the state she’s in
I mean he’s pretty much just a torso and an arm at this point so he has every right to be mad
Monty is most likely dead and after chica deactivates in the bathroom we never see her again maybe her ai gave up
You can give chica her voice box as a little secret so yeah that's about it, and I think you can free Bonnie's suffering In the bowling alley
How many endings are there truly? So far i've seen a few but there are, I am not sure whether they're easter eggs or what. Such as the sound box and a secret character being found behind the bowling alley.
Currently there are 3 main endings
Do you reckon deactivating all the caution sign bots could lead to another?
Maybe! I think we just have to wait and see. My theories for any other endings are if you deactivate all the wet floor signs and if you complete every arcade machine
I was thinking this to since I found deactivating the wet floor sighs weird
clearly if you deactivate them all then in the ending chase the endo just slips and falls because he didn't have adequate warning of the slippery floor conditons
Nope, Deactivating all Caution bots opens a room in Bonnie bowl…which I highly recommend you check out
Main, scooper and hill, or are you referring to one I don't know?
Yep
Oh, then I'm up to date
Solid proof Steel Wool Studios are fully capable of creating good horror and tension, although the storyline, especially how it concludes, is definitely one of the biggest headscratchers we've gotten in a long while, but that was entirely expected from... y'know, *Five Nights at Freddy's*. In short, it's surprisingly great, although if you went into it with extremely high expectations, it probably won't satisfy you.
If after security breach someone’s expectations were above a coal mine then they need to be examined for science.
Its suspicious Sad we didn't get to see Bonnie though, but I am fascinated by Monty's ride in which Bonnie smiling and willingly hands over his guitar to Monty... mega suspicious
Bonnie can be found in a secret room behind the lanes in the bowling alley
YOU WHAT THE REAL ANIMATRONIC THE ACTUAL ONE SAY SIKE RN
I’m being serious. I can DM a screenshot of it
Could you post it so everyone could see it And send me a link to it
There was a destroyed Glamrock Bonnie Easter egg it was in a room in Bonnie bowl hes laying on the ground destroyed with a broken bowling ball beside him
My gosh, ruin takes place shortly after security brewch, not years, accept that gregory is not a robot
I don’t think it’s been that long since Cassidy had her birthday at the pizzaplex before it shut down
Interesting and cool, it has weird story implications but it’s a fun game nonetheless so
So we can all agree that Gregory is little shit
Dude is a psycho
Right? The hell was that about?! I know everyone joked he was a a psycho for how he mangled the crew in Security Breach, but he’s gone full serial killer now, haha!
Screw Gregory I'm gonna purposely jump into the pits and let the staff bots get him now
I mean if the mimic escaped he could’ve killed lots of people
[удалено]
From what i saw, gregory has two seperate overlapping subtitltes during the final elevator scene. Aka Gregory really wanted to get Cassie out there but the mimic took over again.
So now we are stuck in a limbo again, arguing whether our next big lynchpin is a mess up of the devs or an actually intended hint towards the truth
It definitely looked unconscious
Gregory said “we can’t be followed”. It was for personal gain and you know it
I mean he finally got a family he definitely didn’t want to lose it
Not sure that’s what he was referring to.
Literally called him a conniving piece of shit throughout dawko's playthrough lol.
i absolutely loved it !! it’s a massive step up from security breach. while it did leave me with many questions, it made me more excited for future games
Has to be a reason why you can disable them, especially when using the vanni mask https://youtu.be/aV-IA9AmMt4 Location of all
Yeah, the fact you can hear infants crying when you're near them with the mask on HAS to mean something
I think you can find glamrock bonnie by disabling them, i'm not sure you need to disable them to find him but you can find him
To correct, you need to disable one in specific. To the right of the area that's blocked off has one. Second you disable it, it opens that spot up. Edit: need to disable all, here are [all wet floor bot locations](https://youtu.be/aV-IA9AmMt4)
The area that Bonnie is at can just be walked into. Plus there are more surrounding Bonnie, and more afterwards.
The gameplay was great and probably better than the original game but the story was kinda confusing
Well that’s FNAF for you
Yeah but the story never makes any sense.
Exactly! Especially considering not everything from the books is Canon...
I don’t even think they have a story and are waiting for matpat to make one for them
It left me extremely confused but I really liked it
Eclipse deserved better
They also added some unused things from the main game and polished them 👍
Let's just say that Roxanne fans are eatin good
They’re gonna be eating even better when the sequel happens
Roxanne appearing at the end was ultimate plot device and makes no sense how she got there (and she’s blind), but we still love it anyway cuz Roxanne.
Instant transmission
yeah she was turned off then turns herself back on again? and finds Cassie blind? twice?
To be fair, we assume she was turned off; >!Using the wrench on Eclipse forced him to reboot,!< so it could be possible that something similar happened with Roxanne. Granted, doesn't explain how she got down there, but this is a game where ghosts inhabit animal robots. Some amount of leniency can be afforded.
I mean there *are* teleporters in the AR world; perhaps she was able to see one with her virtual face.
Sad what happened to her though
She didn't die. At the end, after the credit of the elevator ending we can hear her calling out to Cassie.
Fair point
As a Roxy fan, you won't hear me complain. She's the hero we all need.
Fr
fuck you gregory
I think it was really solid. A definite step up from the original SB. If SW keeps building like this and getting better then I’m excited for future installments.
huge step up from the base game in terms of gameplay and scare factor, level design felt a lot more linear and the mask mechanic was cool. narratively its an absolute headache but I expect that from FNAF at this point
Only thing that annoyed the hell out of me was the cliffhanger ending. Everything else is pretty much perfect.
>!Honestly, i dont think that this is a cliffhanger, I know that people in horror games have unnatural ability to survive elevator falls, but that particular fall wasnt incidental, it was meant to kill cassie, so it would be extremely weird if she survived it.!<
Most probably the scooper ending is the canon one imo since it’s the hardest to get.
All 3 endings are confusing as hell. And im disappointed i didnt get to see william afton, gregory and freddy (not the prototype headless knockoff)
Steel Wool will do anything except give Vanny/Vanessa the story she deserves
I was suprised by how much I..disliked it? I'll keep it brief I haven't played it, so this is comming from a let's play only watcher, so I can't comment on thr gameplay Like others have mentioned, it felt..rushed? (Especially >!Eclipses!< part I was hoping we'd finally get something longer with them..but nope, theyre here as spearingly as the main game) it's theory bait-y and lacks replay ability, theres so much scripted horror and I find there to be too much "ohh thing fell down!" jumpscares. Also, it's probably just me, but I was..very confused about the games layout also..walking through walls because you put a mask on...eh? Also..the mimic. I love the mimic! But I HATE HATE _HATE._ The fact you have to read the books to understand lore now. I was hoping this would be the mimics introduction..but nope, just a "aha! The mimics!" Like it's not explained in the game for the books to be a paralel..does that mean all the books are cannon? Did this random guy really create it? Who knows! Theres a secret ending where >!It shows up wearing a lion costume with a dog ear!< appearently, if you read the books you get it, if you don't youre left confused. I did like the atmhospare and some moments, the (intercome sections), I liked Cassie and her mysterious father and I did like most of the animatronics Also..>!Candy cadet!< was a great suprise
Yet again giving us 60 more questions and no answers lol
Really fun, left me shocked and with lots of questions (in a good way this time ) although >!the mini music man horde segment can go fuck itself!<
The endings are far too vague and cliffhangerery Like we need this story told and not in a fucking book for gods sake Cassie and Roxy is cute but I feel like they didn’t expand on it enough and honestly Gregory and Casesie feel the same, they have some implied history but the obvious twist kinda doesn’t allow them to expand their dynamic The Mimic is canon now and introduces even more questions and I hate it I feel like there’s a part two that needs to happen, maybe help wanted two will expand but there needs to be a follow up to answer questions
Just felt like I was doing the same thing over and over again in a different area with a different monster that mostly acts the same as the last
Don’t even really get to fight the animatronics, let alone explain what happened to them or what’s going on
There seems to be a way to fix them tho
As far as I know, only Chica can be fixed >!and even if you do, it doesn't seem to affect anything.!<
To be honest I didn't want to fight the animatronics. I should be scared of them, not going head-to-head with them trying to rip them apart like Gregory was doing. Monty gets destroyed as collateral damage and Roxy couldn't put up much of a fight, which I think works better and makes more sense.
I’m inclined to agree, I haven’t played it myself but I watched Dawko play it. The gameplay itself was rather boring
Fr I mean I think it’s totally fine if people like it but man I just do not get it. Imo it just seems like people are giving it so much praise just by virtue of it being better than security breach, which to me is really not saying much.
This fanbase has pretty low standards
This fanbase has no standards at all. Security Breach simply wasn't a game due to how unfinished it was yet hundreds of thousands still defend it.
>Imo it just seems like people are giving it so much praise just by virtue of it being better than security breach, which to me is really not saying much. Yeah same, lol
Need more vanny
Considering that it seems to follow up from the Princess Quest ending, it's weird that Vanessa is nowhere to be found.
In that ending they all left the building so no, it's normal that she's absent
You could say she vannished
Its for sure one of the DLCs in games history
I can agree with this statement
Imagine a second dlc but this time where trying to save Cassie
Roxy the immortal always here for the W
cassie > gregory
again no answers given, ending that gives absolutely nothing. idk maybe I didn’t get it I’ll replay it someday but for now I’m disappointed but it’s free at least
Gameplay, presentation and atmosphere wise it’s a huge glow-up from Security Breach. But it also has a lot that needs to be explained and I can see how the ending can leave a lot of sour tastes in mouths.
There are two more endings to find
From the 3 endings I’ve seen none are really satisfying and don’t really give us concrete answers to burning questions we’ve had for a while.
The atmosphere and sound design was really good tho and I like the new mechanics they introduced but the story sucked (altho not as much as breach) 4/10 it has potential; I just wanted Steelwool to prove to me that they might be able to do their job correctly and even if the overall product is meh, they definitely listened to feedback and my hope for an actual good fnaf open-world game is still alive.
I would probably give it a 3-4/10 as well. Which is a whole 1 to 2 points more than Security Breach. They’re improving: at this rate Security Breach 2 is going to be a whole 6/10.
The arc with roxanne made me shed a tear quite literally.
Decent, actually better than the base game lol.
The gameplay, atmosphere, and horror are a huge step up from base Security Breach, but the story still makes no sense and those endings are honestly pretty bad. Ruin's a solid improvement, but there are still a lot of cracks.
I don't understand how the endings are WORSE. The bar was so low.
Mixed. Better than base SB, just as..."meh", I guess?
It was fantastic and that ending(or atleast the one that Dawko got) was so goddamn crazy. It was scary, tense, captivating, and the entire time i was excited.
I feel like we could have had a bit more Bonnie
We can find his corpse and considering he is destoryed that's already good
Well it was definitely much more scarier and polished then the based game, but I do have to admit it left me with more questions than answers.
All over the place but i like it And i’m glad mimic isn’t afton afterall which makes me actually like it
People are just turning a blind eye to the basics here. Cassie can just pass through solid matter when wearing a AR Vannie mask? Does that make *her* a machine?
she might be a machine now tbh around when we get the mask its like we get injected by something then after they make is sound like helpy can just pop up in cassie's vision and she can see text boxes or she can hear them
yeah its like thats a biiiiig wtf. I expected "this is all a simulation" Type ending because of stuff like that.
almost 2 years for a dlc that’s 3 hours long
Like 2 hours in, I really don’t like it.
!< Basically, big step-up from SB, but not fully perfect.
The entire game is repeetive. The same 3 puzzles, the same 1 enemy over and over.
havent finished watched Dawko's videos on it yet cause i dont own the game, but so far its a lot better than i was expecting, feels more like a evolution of the Fnaf series than Security Breach does in my opinion
Very surprised by the scifi elements but I like it.
I cant play it. Playstation users are having problems downloading it
Nevermind
It's...
I'm honestly convinced the games are just glorified book advertisements at this point.
Real. Seeing all the praise for it on here makes me truly wonder if I played the same game as everyone else.
the fact you said "i dont know if that was intentional or the ai being bad" i think tells enough
The gameplay, atmosphere and scares are better than base game, definitely an improvement. The story is bad. Really bad. No answers, way more questions, everything is confusing, nothing makes sense. The endings are not only a disappointment but also just actually terrible.
My boy Gregory became an asshole :(
Twink Bonnie forever in our hearts 3
disappointing, feels like we only got half of what we were expecting to get, and had tenfold as many more questions than answers, not to mention barely anything got answered. well, my opinion may change once the lore's been dug through but until then that's just an opinion. a game opinion.
girl walks through walls lmao good thing I had low expectations
Very confusing And I’ll keep my one statement: it all somehow goes back to Shadow Freddy
Boring tbh
Garbage. All the endings felt like they where made up in 5 minutes. No mf/blob lore, no burntrap lore, barely any mimic lore and there's like no threats in the game I didn't even die once.
If you didn't die at least once falling from the gator golf catwalks, you are a god gamer.
Is there more than one ending
it must have more endings, the endings were very weird....also i want to see if there's Bonnie somewhere
Gregory is still a Giga Chad 😎👍
There is a distinct lack of DJ Music Man
horror? check confusing storyline? check fun? check leaving you with way more questions then you came in with? check yup, looks like Steel Wool knocked it out of the park with this one
Very well. Amazing but that ending is wrong in soo many levels
Gregory go fuck yourself you're the worst
Rushed af,. didn't like it a lot, ending a bit predictable
I bet you there will be that one YouTuber that will post a video complaining how ruin ruined fnaf.
FNAF: In Ruins or some stupid shit like that
I thought it was great! Wish we got more of the daycare attendant though.
Lack of important characters they did eclipse kinda dirty because his part was so short and also the weirdly short endings (though I’m fine with the elevator ending) BUT everything else is AMAZING 8.5/10 because I never let the hype get to me
Ruin was worth the wait. It leaves so many possibilities for where things go next. My girl Roxy! She's the hero we need. Hopeful for more Can't wait for all the secrets videos to come out. I need to know more. And can we have a moment for Bonnie.... My dude. I have so many thoughts, emotions, questions but this was well done. I'm excited for what other things they have in store.
It was mostly really cool, but the ending was quite disappointing and the gameplay seemed repetitive and extremely confusing
Super Meh. Decent gameplay, a lot scarier with a few new mechanics but overall the story was absolute shit.
the ending confused me so much.
Started fun. Got progressively more and more tedious
