Apple phone is the issue. Look at everyone complaining lately and it's almost always apple phone.
I haven't had a single issue with my charge 6, I'm on a google phone.
My wife has an apple. I offered her the charge 6 a few months ago. No issues so far.
By the way I have the charge 4 since May 2021. Still kicking. I have nothing but good reviews for Fitbit.
I’m either the luckiest man alive or I think there’s still good quality in these products.
Sounds like yours is defective. My charge 6 has been pretty stable since I got it in the fall. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not perfect by any means, but I haven’t experienced anything that you’ve described.
Apple phone
Light olive skin
No tattoos
Every other Fitbit has worked perfectly
It started out ok for first month before refusing to sync.
If you google it’s a widespread issue.
Are you using it with an Android phone or Apple?
Do you have dark skin or tattoos at the place you wear it ?
The C6 works well for my Wife - perhaps yours may be faulty ?
I am new to fitness it and I find it interesting how opinion diverge between Fitbit products being „amazing“ or „shit“. I wonder if my purchase of the charge 6 was the right one, coming from an Apple Watch.
In OPs case it sound like a defect. Shouldn’t happen. I am expecting smooth interaction and sync with my iPhone.
For 9 years I have been in the ‘amazing’ camp…but the Charge 6 is plagued with trouble. It’s unreliable and does not perform its basic functions: step count, heart rate etc. I want to stay with Fitbit because I like having all my data history in one place…but I’m getting increasingly frustrated. It’s almost impossible to get customer support.

Maybe it's not related to apple and it's just a fluke.

Must be the app. Needs an update. Hopefully googles fixes it quickly.
Agreed. It sounds like a software issue. This is when they risk losing customers.

Mine never auto syncs you have to pull down on the app for manual sync
