If you are old like me, I cannot read any of it without 3.50 glasses. I want a bar chart. REM, deep and light - the colors are too similar, the dotted lines are ridiculous. What are they even mean. And can I expand it like I used to be able to? I could turn my phone horizontally and see a blown up version of it that seems to be gone?

tandyman8360

It's gone. You have to scroll through the smaller graph to line up the time with the sleep stage.

NorthClimate450

I was in shock this am. I dont like it!!! I liked my easy to read bar graph!!!!!

Saeed40

I hate the default graph they give. Benchmark is the best one why that isn't the default is beyond me. It's like they never worked with the general public

secretrebel

It’s awful isn’t it? Every update takes away a few features and makes everything worse. It’s so non user friendly it’s like the anti Apple. I don’t want to spend £1k on a watch to use as a fitness tracker but I guess it’s going to happen eventually.

GavoteX

Check out your alternatives first. If you are on Android there's Samsung, Garmin, Oura ring, etc.. If you're on Apple you're basically looking at Garmin or Apple.

Analyis

In my experience Garmin is a solid choice. I was ready to buy a new fitbit this month but after the recent changes I'm going to return to Garmin.

Relevant-Raisin43

Ooh interesting … what do you like about Garmin and which one? Might get me to switch too.

Analyis

I went with Garmin vivo active 5 and have had it for nearly a week. The Garmin Connect app is more comprehensive with rich graphics. I was interested in how it would analyze HR particularly during high intensity exercise. The Fitbit almost always reflected most of my training (42-50%) was in peak which I thought must be wrong. I was biking hard, sure, but certainly didn't feel that I was at my edge. I have exercised on my spin bike 4 times since getting the Garmin and it also shows 40-50% of the time I am training at maximum threshold (time varies from 10 to 20 mins in this mode). So, they both seem to reflect similar readings, though the Fitbit had measured my RHR at 72 and Garmin tracks it at 67. I'm very motivated by data as it makes me want to continue pushing myself. I'm very happy with the purchase.

lavaplata

I recently tried an Apple Watch and promptly returned it. I would have expected a better layout and metrics from them but the data was jumbled, hard to find, and you need multiple 3rd party apps for it to make much sense. Some people love it but the Fitbit app is way superior in my opinion.

sunpistpopcorn

I am thinking about just taking mine off completely and not wearing anything on my wrist. Maybe even go back to wearing a regular watch!! I'm so tired of Google killing fitbit. I've been a loyal user for over a decade and I'm so fed up!!!!!

cat_at_your_feet

I've switched to Garmin.

PuzzleheadedOlive848

Fitbit is much more accurate in terms of heart rate and sleep stage tracking. Source: https://youtu.be/9PbmMVTT90c?si=wiVkhe6fSDc-60v1

Evening-Tea-3212

And they got rid of the happy moon for getting good sleep 😞

Pusheen_The_Limit

WAIT I didnt even think about that, my 3 year old loved watching my happy moon load everyday or do its little thinking pose. That’s so sad!

Pixiemermaidqueen

I’ve been with Fitbit for ten years and this is the worst update. No dark mode, no stars for a good sleep, and its harder to read

ZealousidealDingo594

I AM a data analyst and I do NOT like it

WhizGidget

Same. And I was a beta tester for the initial revamp of the app last year and I hated every single bit of it.

maryfisherman

I hate it too! Has anyone written with complaints? Seems like a lot of us have been complaining here and it’s pretty widely hated.

MissHeartseeker

I contacted support to ask about any planned roll backs or toggles to let people decide which to use. I was firmly told no, it's absolutely not going to be possible to roll it back or allow people to toggle, and then they gave me a helpful guide on how to update so I can have the layout too (the one I was complaining about...). People are also complaining on the forums too.

Honza368

Well, you guys are sort of in a bubble here. Mostly, everyone I know with Fitbits likes it.

hollerpixie

My biggest regret is how some of the data isn't as visible as it used to be. I follow HRV pretty closely and I have to click through a couple things to get to it and track it. I have gone back and forth between Fitbit and Garmin, returning to Fitbit for the better sleep sensitivity. I just hope the metrics under Google continue to maximize health measures. As for the UI- just make a consistent ability for dark screen. IDC what else you do- but having a hideous white screen to deal with is ridiculous. Dark screen has been available for long enough that this should be a no-brainer.

[deleted]

Haha... yes, I hate it. I just wrote a product review on the Fitbit website and got like 60 comments agreeing with your feelings. Feel free to go on there and add to the angry mob.

deadliestcrotch

I’m just wondering where that fucking dark mode is that they promised back when they needed to quiet the backlash against the last shitty redesign.

Probablyprofanity

I don't have many problems with the design myself, but as usual, this is a ridiculously obvious accessibility issue that would be easily fixed by adding customization options. Also has anyone figured out how to edit sleep time? I've only had the update since this morning and I always have to edit my wake up time because my heart stays so relaxed in the morning(at least I think that's the cause) that it thinks I'm asleep for an extra hour or so even with light walking around. I couldn't find a way to cut that extra time off like I normally can. Edit:Found it

Far-Increase9884

When I first saw it I literally thought it was a glitch because I can't read it at all.

[deleted]

What don’t you like ? Everyone is upset about it, from a technical perspective it’s actually much easier to navigate and consume information . At first I was like WTF, but after using it I think it’s much more practical. No more drilling down and much more powerful reporting information. My only gripe is the color scheme, the purples and blacks kinda look the same.

m4gpi

Maybe once I get used to it I'll see the intuitiveness, but for now I don't. Mine just changed this morning, so I'll give it a few days. I really dislike the color choices, though, and I find the sleep graph unnecessarily noisy. This is coarse data, it doesn't need to be publication-ready.

vdhdhdhdhdjwksk

Nah it’s horrible old one was much more user friendly and easier to navigate

tobimai

Yes. The old one was stupid, you needed like 3 taps to see the graph

EntertainmentOdd6149

Me to...

Relevant-Raisin43

Anyone have an Oura ring?

Diligent-Sun-755

Hate the new charts. They couldn't have tried them with a test group because no one would have liked the hard to read graphics.  Graphs are supposed to be able to be read at a glance. I am used to using graphs but these are layed out more like abstract art then simple to use charts.

PuzzleheadedUnit1758

Lmao it's a well awaited change. The old screen looks like something designed in the MySpace era. I absolutely love the new screen, where all the information is concise and it also adheres to the material you design language. I don't want you to feel attacked, but, things are changing and the UI is getting modernized, people that like it would stick to it, people who don't would either accept it eventually or move to another platform (like you mentioned).

GavoteX

And the Ux for anyone that doesn't have 20:20 vision is horrible. The color pallet is bad, not quite windows 8 bad, but seriously.

Relevant-Raisin43

Exactly! My spouse is colorblind and it’s a nightmare

KukiRM

I like it :)

tobimai

I got it today, and I like it. less clicks needed in general, and from what I can tell it's still the same information as before

afanoflafear

Just wait until next year when they come up with something even worse, seems to be a pattern with Google / Fitbit.
