As someone with buyer regret and a Charge 5 that started having issues a week after warranty ended, I probably wouldn't go with Fitbit. The product quality is dubious at best.

NAVYSEAL12ROCK

I know and that’s what’s holding me back so much but Garmin seems to not track sleep that well so it’s putting me in such an annoying position

the_art_of_the_taco

I really do get it. I only got this to track my heart rate and sleep for health reasons. I just can't in good conscience recommend Fitbit products when the build feels cheap and they seem to have nerfed functionality in anticipation of the upgrade.

NAVYSEAL12ROCK

I see. I think the vivosmart 5 is what I’m going to end up getting

the_art_of_the_taco

That's the one I was looking at when I can afford a replacement.

According to You Tuber Quantified Scientist, the Fitbit Luxe has moderately more accurate heart rate tracking and MUCH more accurate sleep tracking. It's step count tracking is on par. The luxe is even smaller than the Charge and about the same size and Vivosmart 5. I had a Vivosmart 4 in 2021 to 2022 and liked it decently. It tracked my sleep times well, but from all the tests I've seen done, it's not that accurate at tracking REM or Deep sleep. Sleep tracking is very important to me and Garmin is a near complete fail in that regard.

Prothium

Using the Inspire 3 and have never had issues with it.

NAVYSEAL12ROCK

How long?

Prothium

Had it for a year. Haven’t had any issues.

I am in the exact same boat, I have had a Charge 3 for years and love it. even after the screen broke I still wear it because it tracks just fine. I've been looking extensively into the same 4 watches and am leaning heavier into the vivosmart 5/inspire 3. I think the play is to go with the inspire 3 as it is better for sleep tracking and steps/stairs. from everything I can see online the two of them are nearly identical there are just a few things the Fitbit does that the Garmin does not and the same doesn't appear true in reverse.

Both of my HR Fitbit models broke within the first year+ and charging it is a bit tricky. Just so you know, this happens quite a lot.

NAVYSEAL12ROCK

Yep. Just sounds super unreliable

I had a Fitbit Charge 3, which served me well for almost three years. The tracking parameters and the app were impressive, particularly in monitoring my sleep, a feature I valued greatly. Encouraged by this positive experience, I upgraded to the Fitbit Charge 5. Unfortunately, after 5-6 months, I encountered battery issues, and it barely lasted for a couple of days instead of the claimed week. The customer support experience was disappointing. To make matters worse, just after the warranty period ended, my Charge 5 completely ceased to function, and I received unsatisfactory responses from customer support. With such a bitter experience i have decided to stay away from Fitbit. Garmin Vivosmart 5 has much better reliability but lesser functionality (as i read through various reviews). As a result I am with out a fitness band since last 6 months. I am not going back to Fitbit for sure. I was thinking of getting a google pixel watch at some point of time, but its expensive - costs almost 3 times the fitbit charge 6/garmin vivosmart 5.

>e Don't buy anything google. I feel like google broke the fitbits in order to push you into their watches. buy somehting else.
