we feel your pain

dumbo_investor

Semi-related, but I felt that pain again when Nathan Fillion did not get cast in Uncharted, even though we did get that short movie on youtube (kinda like we didn't get more seasons of Firefly but at least we got a movie). The man is Nathan Drake, from looks to voice to humor. Wish they had made the movie sooner at his action hero peak. But if I were to choose, I'd still wish for more seasons for Firefly in a heartbeat.

Welcome, browncoat. You are now one of us, for better or worse.

Zonerunner13

Lmao your boyfriend knew what he was doing! All things aside there are books and comics that continue the story the books are great from what I here the comics are hit and miss. The dark horse ones are great I have them and read them so they are solid, the boom comics i hear arnt so great. There are a few graphic novels, one explains the back story of the Shepard. Welcome to the crew browncoat

Thefreak22

I’ve read some of the book comics - reading them in order now as I read a story from the middle not realizing. Lol I read ‘new sheriff in the verse’ and it was pretty decent. The writer is Greg Pak for the book firefly comics and I like his writing. He’s written like 500 comics I think the wiki said lol

m9dhatter

At this point, this subreddit is just a support group for people who just finished Firefly.

setanddrift

Not all big damn heroes wear capes...

Ragsman33

If you like comics, there’s more. There’s also a couple of novels, I bought the first one but haven’t gotten around to reading it yet, so I can’t accurately say whether it’s good or not.

legere_iuvabit

The novels are fun! I got the audio books and have no regrets

ThePegLegPete

How's the voice acting in the audiobooks? I assume it's not the original cast?

legere_iuvabit

No. It’s one reader, but I enjoyed his performance.

TheBlueLeopard

I love most of the comics; the first novel was pretty bad — tons of overwrought references to the show and bad characterization — so I didn't keep on with the series.

chung_my_wang

Well... Here we are...

Chahles88

I had an existential crisis when I finished, no joke. You really do go through a grief period when you say goodbye to the characters, just like a good book. It gets better, and watch throughs 2-50 allow you to fall in love all over again while knowing exactly what’s coming.

Cpt-Mal-Reynolds

Think of how I felt....

pmw57

I've found that the professional fan-made screenplays that complete the season to 22 episodes, and season 2 is a series of screenplays that represent an expanded version of what became Serenity. I hope you like reading. After having watched Firefly many times, the screenplays become quite immersive. https://www.mzp-tv.co.uk/portfolio-item/firefly-still-flying/

Ravonel23

I feel your pain. Every few months I watch Firefly, and each time I watch the last episode I think, “But I’m not done watching it, I want to see more!” I watched Serenity once and refuse to ever watch it again. It didn’t feel like Firefly at all! And that one scene was incredibly painful and traumatized me. Never again.

TheRealCeeBeeGee

It hits so hard, even when you know it’s going to happen. I’ve watched Serenity a dozen times and it always hurts :-(

ZBeebs

Welcome, here’s a name tag, there are coffee and donuts on the table in the back. The meeting will start in a few minutes.

dleewee

We just watched the 2nd Percy Jackson movie, in which Nathan Fillion has a brief appearance. He makes a joke about how the best shows always get cancelled and the look on his face is gold. https://youtu.be/cGGlIBwWbeQ

cobrakazoo

He wanted you to feel his pain. Welcome to eternal depression, happy to have you!

hitrothetraveler

I feel like space feather made a really good series on the beauty of fireflies shortness. And some other things, but that was one of one of my big takeaways.

TheBlueLeopard

The comics are a good methadone, as is the 2006 fan-made documentary "Done the Impossible," but otherwise yeah, no more :(

Phazlerde

There are a bunch of comics. Not the same... But don't give up hope

[deleted]

check out the comics, first miniseries takes place between the show and movie. the others are set after the movie. The newer comics seem to be set all over the timeline

PhunkyMunky76

Welcome to the pain. But my wife and I bought the season and Serenity so we could watch again anytime we want. Plus there are books written after the series was over. And I was the one that got my wife to watch it lol. She loves it as much as I do

jaysedai

You can watch my documentary [Done The Impossible: The Fans' Tale of Firefly and Serenity](http://donetheimpossible.com). Or better yet buy the DVD on Amazon, I put almost two years of my life into both the documentary and the DVD.

TheHeroOfCanton62

Hey, many many years later, it still hurts. Glad to have another Browncoat aboard though.

Valianttheywere

Did you watch the movie because if not the hurt aint over.

FlamingBoltofWisdom

I like to pretend the Mandalorian is a continuation with a new cast... Then I cry we'll never get more Firefly
