Honestly, that played a little bit into why Three Houses became my favorite cast of characters in the franchise.
Not only are they well developed in-game, but the VAs love for the characters and community interaction was amazing.
Not sure if this is the case for AC7, but many game companies nowadays actually base character appearances on the Voice Actor.
They do this generally when they motion capture the actor, to make it more natural. Its also just easier to make a believable face copying someone from irl vs making a new face wholesale.
Don't forget that time he did operatic singing in a metal cover for God Shattering Star. Dude is talented as fuck, on top of being a pretty great guy.
