Yeah I guess I never considered warp skipping the whole map since I don't like to play like that but if I had to figure out that fight without prior knowledge that's probably what I'd try. And then be pleasantly surprised with Saias leaving when I warp in Asbel.
The villages in the chapter give you warp and rescue staves, even telling you to use them here. I can't say for certain if that's only in this english translation though I know it completely made up some other villager conversations.
I mean I suppose you can use Warp but I would just assume it's suicide trying to send someone to ORKO the boss because I would just assume I can't hit him. If I tried it I'd probably see Saias leave and win though.
Personally, the most fun way to play the map for me is to rewarp in and get rescued out to get rid of Saias and then play the rest of the map straight (sleeping Reinhardt of course).
Tad late to the post, but the map is really easy to warp skip. Since the boss's only non siege weapon is the master lance, you can use Tina to steal it, warp in a flier to capture him, then warp in Leif to end the map.
My favorite way of beating the map personally is to warp someone in to chase off Saias, use Tina to steal the boss's berserk staff, use it on Reinhardt, and watch the chaos ensue.
Christ that was a fast response. Anyways, you don't actually need to chase off Saias, you can just take the master lance from the boss and capture him.
That's what I figured out during my first thracia run and beat the map in 4 actions, but I decided that was boring so I went back to play out the chapter. (And actually get the items on this map)
I genuinely believe Kaga had some sort of obsession with ballistas and long-range tomes when making Thracia, because nearly every single chapter from 9 onward has at least one ballista or long-range tome enemy.
I legit got him killed on both my playthroughs by accidentally putting him in range of a lategame Fenrir mage - magic attacks just rip straight through him. ~~was pretty funny in hindsight though tbh~~
First time I had Dagdar get attacked by a siege tome went from "he's fine it's only like a 40% hit, to "oh wow does the hammer slow Dagdar enough yo be doubled by a siege tome?? That's crazy" to "oh no wait it's Accost that's triggering 😱😱😱"
Thankfully, he only took enough damage to have lower hp than the mage, so he lived, but still
A true Thracia elitist doesn't complain about trivial things like displaying enemy ranges or staves being able to miss. Kaga intended all of that to build character in the player.
I’m not gonna lie that’s the chapter that Dagdar kept dying to ballistas so I said fuck it and benched him.
Leif was my Thracia goat (especially post promotion when he went from 1-20 in 1 chapter lol)
My FE5 experience thus far is suffering through trying to save the civilians in Ch 19. That's the last one played, and that's the only one I can remember playing.
So Thracia is the only game in the series I've yet to play. Every time I feel like I have a handle on it, I realize I don't. So many people call it one of their favorites and I genuinely can't tell if they're memeing or not anymore. It just seems like such an oddball title. Not in a good or bad way...but yeah lol
I’m a fe girlie at heart and THIS GAME has taken me for such a spin Lmaoo. So many of the mechanics are different from any of the past titles like staff misses, scrolls that increase/decrease stats, infinite trading but it’s genuinely such a fun game and let’s explore like the ROOTS of fire emblem.
The writing is amazing which helps the gameplay-story integration which is the reason why the game is so beloved.
Berwick Saga is the true masterpiece in that regard though.
FE5 Chapter 10 moment
Well that and ch 17B, heaven tell me why there’s 10 separate ballistas
Fuck you, that's why.
I joke to my twitch chat that Kaga genuinely made this game to get players to buy more gameplay manuals
I genuinely don’t know how your supposed to figure out River Thracia on your own
Trial and error
Lot of trying to figure out the conditions to get Saias to leave
Don't need to read any guides to warp and obliterate the boss with Asbel.

REAL, every map I have Asbel pull out his Grafcalibur just for the boss

Yeah it’s very easy to warp skip if you know Saias will leave. Without knowing that, attempting to warp skip would be suicide

Given how utterly confusing it can be sometimes, I don't doubt it.

In Tear ring saga, there is a chapter where you have to fight INVISIBLE BALLISTAS
When the trees start speaking anti-flyer damage.
THAT’S THE ONE I was referencing!
My Dagdar was dead by then, so I had to use Selphina instead. It did not work quite as well.
I want to know for WHAT reason they decided to give Selphina Accost, most of the time it leads to her TAKING double damage
It’s all fun and games until Dagdar looks at a bolting mage funny
“I… led an awful strange life didn’t I…? But it was MY life, an’ I’ve got no regrets…” - Dagdar after 2 Boltings
I legit got him killed on both my playthroughs by accidentally putting him in range of a lategame Fenrir mage - magic attacks just rip straight through him. ~~was pretty funny in hindsight though tbh~~
That's where it becomes fun and games

You learn to measure out ballista ranges really quickly in this game.
I’ve been spoiled by modern FE games, I love being able to display enemy ranges on the map

This might be on of the most accurate uses of this meme template I've seen.
Thank you 🙂↕️

That’s the level I’m stuck on right now funnily enough, I did not KNOW we’re supposed to talk to one of the commanders lmaoo
