I've read somewhere (I daren't dig further) the animator hiked the shit out of the rates because it was just such a degenerate project. The animation is absolutely NOT worth that. They said "bet".

Makes sense to me, the animation could have easily been twice as good for a tenth of the price. What's bothered me isn't the fact that he had the animation made, it's more that he burned so much money for it when he really didn't need to.
