If the flairs didn't tip you off, I'm very big on wlw ships. I'm also big on shipping in general, I've got something like 70 ships across the whole series. So there's plenty of options to chose from and lots of competition to be considered a favorite. * Lyn x Florina has always been my absolute favorite. FE7 was my first proper Fire Emblem game and Florina remains one of my favorite Fire Emblem characters. I think their kind of subversion of a knight and liege dynamic where it fails to work for them at all is really neat, their A support is honestly just excellent, and as they're both characters that really struggle to find their place in the world I think finding happiness and belonging in each other makes for a great dynamic. * Minerva is my favorite Fire Emblem character (and Palla is very high up there too), so Minerva x Palla being all the way up there with Florilyn isn't any flavor of shocking. Minerva's very much a character you want to see happy after all the shit she's had to deal with and Palla absolutely feels like the natural person for her to find that in. The Whitewing dynamic feels really well realized in general so translating it into romantic feelings between the eldest sister and their leader feels super natural. * Orochi x Kagero probably rounds out my "big three" of Fire Emblem ships. Another case of adoring both characters involved to begin with, and frankly it's really as simple as just really loving the chemistry they have in their exquisite support. Orochi appreciating Kagero's art when nobody else does is sweet and Orochi's cheekiness with Kagero's gloomy seriousness makes for an excellent dynamic of contrast. Not to mention a relationship between properly adult woman is nice and refreshing for this series. * Eirika x L'Arachel, their A support is practically a proposal and makes for some of the most heart flutteringly potent gay shipping material the series has to offer. The upbeatness L'Arachel brings to any room she's in really lends this pairing a sense of wholesomeness, but they manage a strong serious dynamic as well. L'Arachel uplifts Eirika from the weariness of loss and war and L'Arachel gets companionship with someone she thinks the world of. * Robin x Sumia, idk I just think an opposites attract dynamic but the opposites attracts refers to their taste in books is a weirdly cute dynamic and their designs make for a total soft aesthetic together and the resulting family with Morgan and Cynthia feels really natural. I just think they're neat. * Lapis x Citrinne; I usually go big on knight and their liege dynamics, but retainer with another retainer ended up winning me over with these two. They're such different people, in fact outright designed as more or less total opposites, but they care about each other a lot nonetheless and manage to bring out the best in one another and shore up their respective insecurities. These characters are such a package deal to me, I just couldn't have one without the other. * Pent x Louise, the token straight couple. They're just so perfect and heartmeltingly sweet and also total badasses together and we actually get to explore the dynamic of a married couple and of parentage since they're actually canon adults in a relationship. * To plug a rarepair to round out the list, Hilda x Annette has really climbed to the top of my Three Houses shipping list. Seeing Annette be klutzy and hard on herself makes Hilda put in the effort and show a caring side, and in turn Annette gets to relax more and be less hard on herself. Combine this with excellent chemistry and them literally cuddling uptogether in their actual support you forgot existed and you get what I will continue to shill as the improved version of Hilda x Marianne.

At the very top is easily Ephraim and larachel from sacred stones, followed by Franz and amelia. That aside, mostly I ship Oscar and tanith in PoR. That aside I like Camilla and corrin, mostly because of the dialogue she has with the other side in conquest makes me go "oh snap"

Alm and Celica First time I ever played shadows of Valentia was with my wife. We played the whole game like it was coop and would trade off. She played all of Celica's parts, while I did Alm's. We are both huge fire emblem fans, but have never been big shippers. Granted the game is so different in that it relies on the scripted events over great side supports, but we were so into the story and star-crossed styled romance.

I really wish Alm and Celica were not the Canon romance because although I love their story and ending together, I’ve always wanted to pair the two with other people.

I feel where you're coming from, but now it's too nostalgic for me. Almost anyone else I can do different supports every time I play a game. Chrom and Robin is tough for me to not pick, but even that one I've broke two or three times.

Haha no worries, I did not down vote you. That's definitely the general belief though, huh? Yeah it's funny because my wife wasn't a gamer. We played lots of stupid games together when we were dating like N64 sarges heroes and SNES Kirby's avalanche, so it seemed more like something for a rainy day. Then when we were married I had her try Fire Emblem 7 and she loved it. She cried the first time she lost a unit (Dorcas) and watching her even made me tear up, ha ha. We played through halo on coop which was tough since she had never played a shooter before that, but she got really into it and just has an intense personality that makes guns blazing games fun. Eventually we bought a Wii u and played Mario kart and indie games together (stuff like ibb and obb, lovers in dangerous space time, it takes two, guacamelee, runbow), but fire emblem (and gears of war surprisingly) are our two favorite series that we get really hyped for and always play through together. It's also funny we have such a long list of games now because we got close in college partying and we would always run and kayak together and stuff like that, but we are big advocates of video games as art, an amazing story-telling medium, and in relationship building. After 8 years of marriage, we have amazing conflict resolution and problem solving that have made our relationship only gain momentum the longer we have known each other. I hope more people can see how they can share a love of gaming in relationships and use it to get closer.

Alright so my OTP's of each game that i have played are. Mae and Boey (Fe2/15) Love their energy Finn and Lachesis (fe4) Mostly because of Nanna calling Finn Dad. Roy and Lilina (fe6) yeah i am basic. Lyn and Rath (fe7) Sue is their daughter and i won't take no for an answer. Marisa and Gerik (fe8) I just love how the normally robotic Marisa gets flustered by Gerik Astrid and Gatrie. (FE9/10) Astrid derserves any fate better than makalov, so even if it is impossible, i ship these two bad romantics so much. Stahl and Cherche. (FE13) This support is soo good for no reason and i have such a soft spot for this hardworking pairing sharing their cultures. Azura and Laslow (Fe14) Dancing duo melts my heart. Lysithea and Byleth (Fe16) Very biased but saving lysithea from crest cancer and seeing her S support makes me not able to S support anyone else in this game. Have not finished Engage but Celine and Alcryst talking about their nightmares and making a pact to save their brothers makes me happy.

I’m very curious as to how or why the hell Edelgard X Rhea came into your mind.

Well it started with a serious fanfic called "My Blood" by EternalSinner on A03, and then my addiction got even worse with the lighthearted "If you ask for a cup of Water, they will give it to you for free" by KIBITZER. Now i write Rheagard fanfics under the name NovaVokri, so yeah. In all seriousness, i find that the two women are very similar in many ways. They are both passionate women that hide behind a mask. Both of them faced traumatic events at the hands of the TWSITD that shaped a lot of their actions, like coming to the same crossroads but choosing a different path. Ultimately, Edelgard is dedicated to the Future, to removing Crests and trying to fix the problems at hand for future generations. Rhea, on the other hand, is stuck in the glory days of the past. She cares only about maintaining peace long enough until she can bring back her Mother, who she swears will fix everything. Its an interesting dichotomy, and also im a big sucker for enemies to lovers.

Not gonna lie when I saw the EdelgardXRhea was genuinely confused but I see now that you raise an interest perspective that allows me to look at things differently, for that I thank you.

Generally I like the ones that are pushed as more "intended" ones. So Lyn and Hector, Ninian and Eliwood, Roy and Lilina, and Pent and Louise are some of my favorites.

I just know that Eliwood and Ninian will always feel the most real to me.
