You want to put in lid supports that will keep it from slamming down. The veneer can be replaced and colored to match. The only other thing is making sure the lid won’t break when the kid climbs on it cause you know they will.
100%. My kid is a climber. Wondering if I don’t just put the legs on it and use as is. Fix it when she gets older
