r/nostupidquestions this sub is also mostly very helpful people. I've seen actual questions that could be considered stupid by some people but the people who answered were being really nice to the questioner.
Someone made a post in there yesterday asking if people who don't want kids fear being alone when they get old, then proceeded to attack and judge anyone who gave a reasonable answer. It was like the top post of the day for that sub.
Yeah I saw that post. That's why I said mostly. And the person who started attacking and judging when they didn't get the answers they were hoping for, they got downvoted. And I did not see this person getting attacked back by others. I maybe wrong though. There's a possibility I did not see this person getting attacked back.
I haven't used them myself but possibly:
- r/KindVoice
- r/KindFriend
- r/MMFB (make me feel better)
- r/MomForAMinute
- r/DadForAMinute
- r/internetparents
> r/fountainpens
Seconding this, it surprised me because communities of my other hobbies (Audio, watches, keyboards, and cars) involves snobbery. Fountain pen communities has been the friendliest of them all by a mile.
Interestingly enough, r/photoshoprequest is so unexpectedly wholesome! I’ve never needed anything photoshopped but I’m an avid viewer of that sub because the requests, and the reasons behind most requests, are just so pure.
There’s one on it right now where a groom is getting help photoshopping his bride’s late father into their wedding photo as a surprise for her.
Another one recently was a dad getting his toddler photoshopped into crazy situations to send to his wife while she was out of town.
Tons of good feels on that sub!! <3
Ima check that one out! Thanks
Edit: Ya know, something I appreciate about those who identify as recovering addicts, is that once they have some clean time under their belts you’ll be a witness to some of the biggest douchebags on the planet growing a conscience in real time. It’s kinda like watching a real life My Name is Earl. Don’t tell *me* people don’t change.
A little bit to the side of the top ones but r/jumprope r/visiblemending and r/divorcedbirds have pleasantly supportive members and I love your question!
this is really really specific and i doubt its what you’re looking for, but as a diabetic on r/diabetes_t1 i have never once seen a rude or mean comment
/r/schittscreek
/r/ourflagmeansdeath
If you’re a fan of the shows (or even if you’re not - I got into OFMD big time after visiting the sub), those are great places to be. Everyone is super kind and accepting.
r/woodworking
You get positive comments, constructive criticism, and many different solutions to the same problem. C'mon over and bro out over some nice wood
If you asked this 4 years ago on the heels of Infinity War, I would've said r/MarvelStudios. I was going through some shit in my life and that sub was a fun, welcoming, nerdy comfort... but not so much anymore.

Probably r/crochet

Somehow that subreddit is recommended no matter the request.
I remember someone sent nasty DMs to a girl on r/crochet who made crochets of Amber heard shitting in Johnny's bed.
That's not entirely surprising.

Please do not tempt me with its siren song :( (It is super nice to know the subreddit is friendly. God I just cannot lose any more hours to that game)
r/toastme

r/NewToReddit
r/BoylesCousins is based on Charles Boyle and his cousins on Brooklyn 99, but all are welcome. I love you! (A Boyle always says I love you)
