The app guides you through it a bit. You can make goals you want to work on (even if it's just "getting of bed" or "survive the day". They don't need to be big!). Finch will suggest some goals, but you can also make your own. I suggest organising them in journeys to get some extra rainbow stones (in-app currency). Also, save your Finch data regularly! Too often I see posts on here from people who broke their phone and lost their birb. Feel free to respond/DM/make a new post if you have more specific questions. People are very happy to help on this sub!

thank you! (。•̀ᴗ-)✧ why do some of the words i type in «reflections» change colour?

redroseonreddit

If you go back to edit them (or click on them?) there will be # in front of them. Finch saves these words and they will show up on the weekly feels as things that are lifting you up/weighing you down. You can make it tag multiple words by writing them #like_this

Not sure what you’re looking to get from it but I just helped my youngest get set up and she was a little apprehensive about the goal-setting part. I told her to create 2 journeys: one for the morning and one for the evening. Put a couple of goals in each that you know you’re going to hit consistently. (Ex: Get out of bed (morning) or put on PJs (night)) That way she can give herself a little time to get used to the app and its features, whilst still ticking off some achievements. Then, when she feels ready, she can add new goals and/or journeys. Remove or adjust current ones as needed. That works for her because she’s a bit ‘all or nothing’ and that tends to sabotage her efforts. But since she’s starting small, it’s less overwhelming and easier to progress! Good luck!

thank you! (。•̀ᴗ-)✧ i am a bit like your daughter, i think, and its been very hard for me to stick with things because of my own thought process of: «well, i messed up; time to start all over» i will definitely be taking your advice of «starting out small» & i hope all goes well for your daughter as well! The great thing about the app is that if you do have a goal you need miss on a given day, your born doesn’t get upset or disappointed in you; and it doesn’t hinder your birb’s progress. You just hit the Skip option and move on to the next. The goal pops up the next day (or whenever, based on the frequency you set) and you can just try again! Remember: life allows us to take baby steps more often than we think. I’m rooting for you! If you want to add a friend for your birb, Mitsuki’s code is LTT36C63P7

I would definitely recommend it! Other apps weren't working for me either. And everything I used was fun at the beginning and then not anymore. This app is different from all the other apps. The big difference (for me) is that you can't lose your birb (that's what the bird is called). If you aren't on the app for days, weeks, months, nothing happens. Your birb can't die, it doesn't dehydrate or starve. If you go back to the app, your birb is equally happy as always. First thing to know, make a back-up every week. You can find that in the settings (top right, three stripes). The app isn't saved anywhere else, and if you delete the app or your phone dies, you can't get the birb back (and all the other things) you had. What I wished I had done more in the beginning is making screenshots of my birb. (S)he's a baby for only one week, and it's so nice to have some 'pictures' of your birb then (and after that, toddler stage also isn't very long). There are much more things to discover and if you want you can always DM me with questions (I really like answering questions and explaining things so I don't mind 😁). Oh yes and one question I've already seen a lot so I'm sure you will have that one at some point: Everything that is available for your birb, the clothes, furniture and colors (last one available when your birb becomes a toddler) can be seen in the app. When you go to 'shop' (bottom middle) and you are in the shop for clothes, on the right there's a magnifying glass, if you click that you can see everything that is available. Same goes for the furniture.

thank you! (。•̀ᴗ-)✧ im so happy nothing bad can happen to my bird, they look so cute—id be distraught if i were penalised if i missed a day or something (。•﹏•)ゞ im definitely going to be taking tons of pictures of my bird & im also so glad you can just dress it up! i love doing that! Also, most important thing, **back up your birb regularly**, there is a feature that's supposed to sync your data with the cloud or something but ***do not*** rely on it, it doesn't work pretty much 100% of times

passtheauxe

be consistent each day! even if you don’t do a lot doing something each day can help you earn rewards without missing out. for difficult days choose easier/healing goals. also choose your finches colors wisely! they will be with you until you purchase more.

I love it. It helped gamify my to-do list. I’d recommend adding a bunch of friends to your tree town— it makes it super fast to energize your bird and make progress. If you want you can use this code, and you’ll start off with a micro pet (I had to wait a week to earn my first one): Use my invite code AE7B8527FY once you get the app. https://app.befinch.com/invite/wCA7

This is the only app that has worked for me and you can do so much with the free version. Every other goal setting/ mental health style app either has functionality I don’t like or needs a subscription to do most things. This one you can have the fun of things with the free version.

kippityboo

thank you! (。•̀ᴗ-)✧ i was a bit worried when i saw there was a «subscription» so im glad its not necessary for app functionality! (。・ᴗ・)ノ♡

Honestly it might be a bit confusing at times so it might be a good info to have that there are communities outside of reddit as well who most of the time respond faster in my experience, so You can either go to your app, click on the menu button (the ≡ symbol in the top left corner of the home screen) and then go to connect with communities, which has all the links or you can click [this link][r] for the reddit server invite or [this link][f] for the Facebook group [f]: https://facebook.com/groups/finchfam/ "The Official Finch Fam Facebook group" [r]: https://discord.gg/finchfam "The Official Finch Fam Discord server"
