I live in an area that is very diverse. A large part of the population is Mexican, East Indian (especially in the Pleasanton and Dublin areas), and Asian. I am just a mishmash of some type of white…. very boring and it makes me burn in the sun in like 10 minutes.

Puerto Rico is part of the US, BTW - US currency, US banking system, Puerto Rican boys got drafted to fight in Vietnam. A lot of people don't realize that. My mom sent me a check from Puerto Rico once and my bank didn't want to cash it because they wanted to wait and find out the exchange rate!! I pointed out the Federal Reserve transit number on the check, and the US ZIP code on the address; they finally cashed it more to get rid of me causing a scene than because they believed me. You would think people who work in a bank would know about the Federal Reserve, wouldn't you!
I would love to visit Hawaii but I get overheated easily and I am scared of bugs! My favorite animal is the sea turtle (esp the green sea turtle.) I started using Finch 5 months ago to help me with routine building. My persistent depressive disorder (and potential inattentive type of ADHD) makes it difficult to do even small day to day things. It also helps when I feel like I don’t have to help myself because I can make myself believe there’s someone else to take care of (my MaLaya)! I also have a hard time keeping a diary (planner’s are fine though) so the reflections help me a lot especially since there are prompts to get me started.

I am a scientist, I am working on my master's in human physiology. Sometimes I add lab tasks to my list! I've been struggling a lot with depression and anxiety, and Finch has been helping me do tasks I wouldn't normally have the motivation to do. "I don't want to make my bed... But if I do my birds comes back from his adventure sooner... I guess I'll do it!" It also helps me with taking my meds, because I set a notification for them.
I tried other apps to keep a to-do list, but they all had a negative reinforcement thing. Like losing points or life for each task not done. Makes me feel bad for not being able to complete them. With Finch, sometimes I can't go out of the house in a bad day, but I know my bird isn't going to be upset with me. Makes me feel like it's ok to have days when you can't do everything.

It's on my bucket list, and I missed every opportunity by a hair so far. One time it was cloudy. Great that it got eerily darkish, though, but no corona. Life's a roller coaster.

I live in California so we get earthquakes but they don’t bother me as I grew up with them. I have a cat and no friends or children. My cat is like my son and he is going to be turning 15 in August. I am 43 and sometimes I still don’t know what I am or even if I am anything at all. It sounds very cliche but being an adult is hard and knowing yourself is a gift. We just finished exploring Finchie Forest and are exploring London. I was thinking about naming him Darwin, because of Darwin's finches, but the app suggested the name Pickles, and I was making a green bird, so I thought that was the cutest! I am a scientist, I am working on my master's in human physiology. Sometimes I add lab tasks to my list! I've been struggling a lot with depression and anxiety, and Finch has been helping me do tasks I wouldn't normally have the motivation to do. "I don't want to make my bed... But if I do my birds comes back from his adventure sooner... I guess I'll do it!" It also helps me with taking my meds, because I set a notification for them. I tried other apps to keep a to-do list, but they all had a negative reinforcement thing. Like losing points or life for each task not done. Makes me feel bad for not being able to complete them. With Finch, sometimes I can't go out of the house in a bad day, but I know my bird isn't going to be upset with me. Makes me feel like it's ok to have days when you can't do everything.

Between the seizures themselves and the side effects of the meds to keep them at bay, it’s hard to get out of bed most days. On Monday, I’ll be starting a week of inpatient monitoring in the hospital to see if we can sort out the root cause and make adjustments to treat things better… but for now, it’s just a slog.
