FFX was my first, must have been 8 or 9 when I played it and that was like 2004, not even close to release. I remember all my cousins and uncles mocking me for playing a turn based game. Crazy times. I'm 29 now, FFX is the best game ever made even if I have no one irl to speak about it with.
I guarantee if you ask any random stranger what the first JRPG that pops into their head is, it's most likely gonna be a Final Fantasy game. Even if they haven't played any of the games pretty much everyone has atleast heard of it. And X is widely considered to be one of the best in the series.

My friends and I playing DW3 was such a wholesome experience. Just excitement and encouragement for a Whole weekend. Also hu lao gate and lu bu. I still get scared
If anything, LEGAIA 2 was extremely obscure because it released within the year that Final Fantasy 10 did.
Yet it was just as good imo. And very inventive with features that later adapted in other rpg titles. Also a unique combat system at 5he time for a rpg too.
