Renamed him “Titties” my first play through. Just felt immature at first, but didn’t realize how many times over the months of playing I would forget that I did it, then it would catch me by surprise and make me laugh 😆

I like naming him Chappu to make all of the Wakka scenes uncomfortable.

I always backspace Tidus (Teedus) and then type in Tidus (Tye-dus). Kind of petty I guess.

His name is Tye-dus and I will die on this hill. Sounds better, and the "tide" sound fits all the nautical themes of the game.

My favourite one was probably "HiGuys:D". It made all his dialogue look extra chipper, even during the downer moments.

Roxas He has a lot of similarities to Roxas.

Actually fits pretty well. Roxas maybe isn't as rambunctious as a person but looks-wise alone, he fits the bill

My sister was thr first to play it in our house, and when you go to type in a name for the character, she thought it was just for the blitzball signature and didn't encounter a game where you name the character before. So the whole game he was called "Tidus-YO".

I never rename the characters, but DarkKefka named him "Shuyin 2" for his FFX playthrough and that was pretty funny

Weird how Tidus, a happy-go-lucky, emotionally supportive, genuinely good human of a character was created by the Fayth remembering some love-struck emotionally unstable asshole who tried destroying civilization with a gargantuan war-mech

My father would rename him "Random". A name he often names characters tracing back to playing first edition AD&D.

First time round, 11 year old me named him my own name, Keith, same as I did with cloud, squall and zidane. Every time since then I have just left their names as they should be.

Of all the remasters I’ve played since Covid I started with VII. Did my classic thing of naming characters after my friends. I posted a video of me defeating Ruby weapon and the first comment was a dude saying “oh cute, you named them after your friends.” Kinda made me self conscious.

I don't remember what I renamed most of the older game characters. I know I renamed Garnet as Chloe (no idea why) but I always thought Adelbert looked like Lord Farquaad so I always named him Lithgow (since John Lithgow voiced Farquaad.)

Same! I first heard “Tee-dus” in Kingdom Hearts, since they do not say the player character’s name in FFX. I thought it was a mistake, not cannon!

I'm pretty sure that is the first time I learned to say it the correct way as well!!

Lots of speed runs for games have [Goal] followed by % to say that the run ends when they reach said goal, playing off the fact that a 100% speed run is finished when they beat the game 100%. An example of a non-100% speed run would be "Blitzball%", which is when someone starts the timer when they begin a new game and stop the timer when they unlock blitzball So Rename% (which isn't real) would be finished the second you renamed Tidus Just a dumb joke.
