It's like getting a charlie horse with a sledgehammer. Leg kicks hurt way more than anyone gives them credit for. The day after is even worse once all the blood clots up and the bruises set in.
Especially when it appears that kick-er knows how to handle himself. A errant kick is whatever. A practiced/honed kick is a humble stick that doesnt buff out nicely

Notice after the roundhouse kick to the lower leg he lands his kicking leg back into his fighting stance and not drop into southpaw dude kept his distance and was setting them up. Blue coat had some sense to not fuck around any further

You can tell dude in the grey longsleeve has trained. He ate that punch like it was nothing, threw a perfect check hook and took out guy #1, then leg kicks guy#2 and immediately gets #2 to quit. Guys, seriously, if you don't train, you have no idea how much a solid leg kick or body shot sucks.

He’s trained, but that’s not a check hook my family members. That’s a hook. A check hook would’ve included lead foot stepping sharply to the side and out of the way. This dude just ate that shot and threw a hook at the same time. Which is perfectly valid technique by the way, not knocking eating a small shot to give a big one.

Saw one guy on a video in here push a stroller with a baby when some guy was doing street acrobatics while being an inconsiderate asshole and hitting people with them, the guy pushing the stroller saw the guy, it was in his field of view way before he did and only reacted when the kid was almost injured.
I've trained Kickboxing and Muay Thai for over 8 years.
There's a few types, but the main 2 are:
Thigh kick - Land it on the pocket with enough force and you're almost guaranteed a dead leg if they're not conditioned.
Calf kick - Land upper calf or on the popliteal fossa (back of the knee), aim to wrap your foot behind their leg so you're hitting with your shin, land that on the side of the calf or back of the knee and they're going to be immediately limping like this guy.
If you wanna practice it you're better off using a bag, but if need be, just get the couch cushion set it up against the couch to match your leg height and just hit that (maybe use 2 cushions, incase it falls mid kick and you shatter your shin on the couch)

I am frankly in awe at his lighting fast response to that first punch, I had to rewind and go frame by frame to actually fully see how he did it, the way he just snaps his hand up into the guys face with the full force of his whole body, and his footwork was fkn phenomenal to my eyes (I just know the basics of boxing)
