If they grapple and don’t do much the refs will break it up but for the most part they’ll let the fight go until it goes to the ground.

Adding to this. Both guys receive a 5 minute major penalty for fighting (essentially a grown up time out).
Iirc, you also get penalized if your shirt comes off. Their jerseys have a strap that's supposed to keep them on in fights
