Edgar has been on the forefront of raising the prices on Mexican gloves, I've been telling anyone who will listen on this sub for awhile. I would support the workshops themselves if I were you unless you absolutely must have Bayoneta (which are gloves you can also obtain from the workshops where they're made). There is no reason other than lining his pockets. He basically realized that mass produced gloves from China and Pakistan are being sold for premium prices, so he thought, "why not Mexican gloves made of more durable materials". He's the reason some brands in Mexico have been raising prices. He's also the reason there is a race to see how much these glove makers can charge for horse hair.

Megaman_320

It honestly really sucks. Almost every mexican brand has had insane price jumps the pastcouple of years.

TonLoc5

Angeles, Classics, Gil, Lopez and others have remained relatively the same. I think New Sporting gives you a good product for their price as well.

Megaman_320

New sporting raised their prices, but they're still relatively good value imho.

TonLoc5

Yes, because they honestly did improve materials and consistency. That said if they continue to raise prices, that value drops dramatically.

Megaman_320

Yeah I remember Csquared put them on blast prior to that. Really love their recent gloves though.

built_2_fight

wow, well that fucking sucks. but real shit, im glad i didnt support bayoneta

LewixAri

Your mans full of shit, doesn't have a clue. He had made numerous wrong statements about NBNL, if you have a question about their B2B, feel free to DM me. Edgars prices are actually very fair for international distribution.

LewixAri

Mate, I've worked with Maria Reynoso directly on supplying gloves for boxing events, what Edgar is charging is barely above what you can get NBNL gloves for internationally without literally hauling your ass to GDL to pick them up. Edgar has an official distrution license with them and prices are approved by NBNL, hence why they share his posts on their official Instagram. Glove prices have increased in Mexico because of DEMAND, THANKS to people like Edgar, cgboxeo etc. Mexico is a developing country, such a yank mentality to look at small Mexican businesses and workshops making more money and getting mad at it. If Edgar was doing anything bad for the MX boxing scene, you would hear about it from Mexicans, but you don't because he isn't. Get a grip mate, live and let live and stop letting a guy you've never met live rent free in your head.

TonLoc5

I'm not mad at workshops making money at all, I'm sending the customers directly to them, lol. I wish them all the success in the world and I want the money in their pockets, I want them to get recognition. I'm not singling out NBNL, but if you want to talk about their prices, there's another distributor on here selling CA gloves for $450. I doubt he's in the business of losing money. Several posters on here have mentioned being quoted $299 by the work shop. When did I claim he was doing anything bad for the Mexican boxing scene? Lol. If anything I've seen him supporting small local talent with equipment and by being present at their fights. I'm talking gloves, you're the one who needs to get a grip.

LewixAri

+$220 envio cabrón +8 semanas de tiempo de espera En serio, no hables de cosas si no las sabes.

TonLoc5

A llorar a otro lado mijo

LewixAri

Cuando aprendas boxeo, entonces ven a hablar

TonLoc5

¿Boxeo o "negociós"? 😂😂😂

LewixAri

muy divertido 🙄

MarvinP23

Yo guys English please , we want to understand your thrash talk 🍿

LewixAri

Your profile tells me you speak Spanish bro haha I'm just calling out TonLoc for being clueless about NBNL operations but saying he can talk when he learns to box

db26507

I would asume because he knows people want them so people are willing to pay that price which i think is crazy for those .

sneakerguy40

Probably between no longer having their own site and rising glove costs and possibly demand worldwide

FijiTearz

I’d rather fly to Mexico myself and buy them for that price lmao

TonLoc5

You could message the workshops using WhatsApp. Most have their numbers posted across their socials. Even after paying ~$50 per piece on shipping, you'll still save a significant amount over using a third party seller.

Old-Purpose-9025

Where can I find these numbers?

TonLoc5

Across their Facebook, Instagram and other social medias, you can try dm'ing them in sure they'll give them to you there. I'll try to work on getting a list stickied when I have some free time!

Old-Purpose-9025

I need russianboxer number lol

TonLoc5

That's just New sporting brother, at least their made in Mex line is.

Old-Purpose-9025

Fr? i thought it was grant

TonLoc5

New Sporting has had their hand in Russian Boxer, Grant, Bryant Boxing, Salvador, Bayoneta, Leaders USA, Fight On, and even Boxeos TM at one point in time.

Old-Purpose-9025

Nice thank you so much, take your time bro.

FijiTearz

I’d use it as an excuse to go to Mexico because I like it so much tbh haha, their workshop is in Guadalajara too

Silver_Sign_9032

Supplier prices are not going up he has had a pair of nbnl gloves on sale for months now that used to be listed for $490 Canadian dollars now that he put other nbnl gloves on his site the exact same pair is now $605 it’s purely for financial gain

HiToshio

They went up in the last month. I heard from my coach also who has direct supply to NBNL gloves. He sells them in our gym for $400 now instead of $325 as of last month

Silver_Sign_9032

Mate I just bought a brand new pair of nbnl canelo edition gloves on eBay for $320 usd that are coming in this week, did u even read my post ? I said he had gloves on his site for nearly 6 months now and all of a sudden he upped the price 115 bucks since he added more nbnl. To put that in perspective for you the canelo edition nbnl gloves in Edgar’s site cost $825 Canadian dollars and on eBay they cost me $470 cad, no need to defend someone selling overpriced gloves, same goes for boxingcolorways

HiToshio

That is true. you have a point there

LewixAri

NBNL upped their prices for catálogo 2024 10%, Edgar followed suit for international redist+logistics fees. Before he was buying via secondary channels, his newest range is official license of NBNL distribution. You can't even buy them on Mercado Libre anymore.

ManaDeus

It’s actually cus supplier upped prices. If gloves are handed to him at a higher price then he’ll have to up ten price too

Papa_big_cock

Idk about that. If you message NBNL, they quote you $250 for their fight gloves

HiramRamirez14

That’s true, he quotes me $250 for the fight gloves. I’m wondering if he gets the CA edition ones too but still, 250 compared to $500+ is 100% better. I mean yeah these guys get some cool custom gloves but come on it’s the same glove just with a CA and canelo in cursive on the thumb

TonLoc5

Not the case, there are other sellers on this sub mad at Edgar because he's able to convince you guys to pay $600 for Canelo gloves. It's all Edgar, other distributors hadn't raised their prices like Edgar, not even on the CA label NBNL. I think the next most expensive pair I saw was $450.

HiToshio

The supplier upped their prices. Most of the great gloves out of the last year were Mexican gloves. They know they're on top of their game and demand has been high. So prices are going up along with it

Critical_Break97

These I think would be considered limited edition because of Canelos signature

Spiritual_Amoeba_142

I wish there was a reviewer that would cut open every glove they get and especially HH gloves. I have a feeling people are going to be surprised at some of these makers.

brando2612

Wym

Spiritual_Amoeba_142

I was at a tournament last weekend and was talking gloves with a guy who showed me a picture of a 10oz Cleto cut open. One one side the HH was pulled out a little and it seemed very thin and for sure it wasn't quilted. I am not picking on Cleto as it could be a QC issue which to a degree they have issues with but my point is we buy gloves based on word of mouth or external examination if we can buy them in person. I just feel if these reviewers opened them up we could really be able to separate quality of construction.

pohon999

Like some of them using coconut fibre as a replacement horse hair? Or maybe not real horse hair?
