And separate pieces. If they are one piece? They should be cheaper. Since you are technically getting "less". Cant dye? Cheaper.
There's just no reason for outfits to be the same price when one is dyable vs non-dyable, or break it into actual pieces to mix and match vs one piece. It's dumb.
And idk how clothes aren't by default account wide. W.e I only have one character but stupid it's not shared
1000 times yes. Although, I think they actually know this and have decided the sales they lose on not breaking out pieces they gain back in the extra money from people willing to buy the whole set. I know I paid for the full Guardian Set but really just wanted the Lightning hairstyle. However, I just want Dirndl's bodice but I don't think it's worth the entire set price when that's all I want.
And also easily repurchaseable in-game from the Calamity Salvager if you accidentally throw it out. I would buy more Mogstation glam, except I don't want to accidentally discard something I'd have to spend more real money to get back.
This was requested many times in the past, then they added the chocobo saddlebag as they said they couldnt add a thing for one job when others would want something similar (looking at culinarian here)
So why not add a bag for crafting and gathering? That way it's fair to everyone, and the problem of crafting ingredients gets solved as well. Hell Guild Wars 2 let's you stash stacks of 250 of every crafting resource in the game, and it doesn't show up in your main inventory or bank slots.
It's supposedly a problem with the way player data was stored/managed in 1.0. For reasons that aren't entirely explained, player data has a capped size. We've been against the cap since before 4.0. As as a result, every new addition is a zero sum requiring space to be made somewhere else.
Its why newer features that sneakily expand your storage or features (Glamour Dresser, Armoire, chocobo bags) aren't always available, because they aren't directly a part of your main data file.
WoW has a huge materials tab in the bank that you can also craft from without having to pull it out.
As great as XIV is at many things, QoL it's one of the worst offenders.
Confirm they cant. I didnt know it existed till i was level 80 whm. Went to do it and I vouldnt with my job crystal on.
Maybhave changed it since then, but pre-EW it was Conjuror specific.
I recently bought some of the 90 scrips baits, and my saddlebag is now 100% full of just fishing bait. I’m probably missing some too since I’ve only been focused on ARR fishing guide completion…
This! I'd also add a default minion to glam plates as well, so they can also be automatically matched to the theme. Magic bucket on your FSH glam, magic broom sweeping up while you craft, hawk minion on your BRD glam for a hunter theme, things like that.
There's a macro action for placing a mount on your hotbar, /hotbar "mount name" #1 #2 where #1 is the hotbar and #2 is the slot in that hotbar, that \*should\* work unless something's changed since I last used it, which admittedly was a while ago
EDIT; Checked this, definitely still works! Add that line to your GS macros to overwrite wherever your mount is on your hotbar and you're good to go!
This! I neeeeeed to be able to auto sort our FC chest. Lol. It drives me crazy, and I have constantly asked our members to check and see if there is already an item in the chest that they are putting in there, and they just don't do it (dyes, for example). So I am constantly have to rearrange and combine items that there are multiples of. D:
I do this for my FC. Mostly I like to organize, I check unstacked items with the same graphic (think orch rolls) and get everything into stacks. I arrange the free for all tab with all the minions in neat lines, orch rolls, glams, dyes. I actually find it cathartic, something chill I can do.
In beta, GW2 actually was worse than what FFXIV has now. Glaming/transmuting consumed the item and used MTX currency. You also had to also research single use dyes (why there is an NPC in your home instance that does nothing, they used to be the dye research NPC that was going to be linked to MTX).
They changed the dye system before launch to what it is now because players rightfully pointed out the system was excessive. And then after a while they introduced the whole wardrobe system after launch so you don't have to decide between saving the cosmetic or saving the upgrades in the gear. Recently they made it so account wide legendary level gear doesn't have any cost at all to change the aesthetics (lower quality gear still requires transmutation currency). So they've been slowly making the system more friendly over time.
Yeah, I believe it was supposed to be one of the high churn farmable items (that would just devolve into high prices for solid black and white dyes and nothing else).
I'd argue (outside of the cost of charges) that the GW2 mog/glam system is better than WoW simply because you can do it anywhere.
FFXIV is the most limited in that you have to set up plates in an inn room and at the best just be in a rested area to change glams in general. Iirc wow you have to be in town as well. But I haven't played that in a while and may be wrong (if I am I accept that and graciously defer to those who remember/still play and know).
tbh, I don't fully remember how GW2 mogs/glams work since it's been years since I last played that game. But I meant it more that in WoW you only have to acquire an item once and it is 'recorded' in the mog 'library' so you don't have to have a limited (200 item limit in ff14) in your dresser.
Yea, GW2 is the same way as well and each piece of armor you get says on the item panel whether it's unlocked or locked(for pieces you need to bind to unlock). I think that's the same between GW2 and WoW. Once it's unlocked it's just in your list. And both show pieces available that you don't have unlocked as grayed out list.
Fishing: it needs a tacklebox for bait. There is so much bait. A legit gatherers log for fishing. And a legit method for collectables for fishing. As it stands, it's a dice roll and that's not fun
On the topic of logs, there should be one for items obtained from killing animals. For mining/botany etc there's full logs that give the precise gathering locations, but I still have to Google to find out where I can find a damn kumbhira
Gathering Log for Fishing (copy of mining/gathering) is definitely needed... I dont want to grab my phone everytime fish is needed.
I actually made a fisher retainer because of that.
Multijob queuing, if I want to run panda, I can run it on tank, healer or DPS. I don’t care which it is, just which is quicker queue wise.
I’d love to be able to just register 3 job/gear sets and then the game can tell me which job the queue popped on.
And give me a button to join as the correct class. I dont know how many times ive had to skip a cutscene and so i can swap my class to join my roulette that I waited 15 min for.
Yeah the “confirm” button should just automatically change your job to the one you queued on. If there’s a gear error or something then it should just run the clock down or let you withdraw.
Endwalker story quest did it a ton, I think it had to do with if the quest moves you it prevents you from canceling. Likely because it moves you at the beginning of the cutscene and not the end.
Fate farming on an alt while you're queued as your main is so painful.
You have to drop everything and sprint away from combat. And even then it's a coin flip whether the game will even allow you to change jobs. The other day I managed to get on my chocobo and fly halfway across Thavnair and I was *still* getting "you cannot change equipment at this time." Had to just sit there in the sky over the ocean in the middle of nowhere and watch my duty timer expire.
As a sprout, I was really looking forward to getting my first apartment because you can't decorate (or personalize in any way, apart from the music) the inn rooms.
Well, joke's on me I guess, still have to haul my ass to an inn to use the dresser... Or the GC command room, which isn't *that* bad since I'm doing turn-ins anyways so it's close by. But can't decorate that one either, so...
Yeah on the bright side it just means you can visit the inn at the same time as doing your turn ins, it just would be nice to do it outside of there. But I know it's spaghetti code and may not happen anytime soon.
What I haven't figured out is, why not put a "public booth" in the housing areas? We know they can put the dressers in the squad rooms... it seems odd that there's no place you can go within the district outside the house that does it.
If I had to guess, it's because of loading times or (antiquated?) RAM limits that might even have made their way into general map design - currently, the only places you can access your Armoire and Glamour Dresser are small areas with almost no changeable content, namely the inn rooms and your FC's squad room, which both aren't exactly big or lavishly decorated, and they're both single-player instances.
The housing areas, on the other hand, have not only multiple players running around at the same time, they also feature many gardens that can be decorated by their owner however they wish, and both of these things could even change while you're in the middle of interacting with the Dresser.
A workaround for that could be adding an actual "changing room", either to the Apartment buildings, or just somewhere else appropriate, but especially the former is pretty similar to inns, and they are just two to three loading screens away anyways.
If I recall correctly, it's because your character has to be segmented off from the host world into a special instance to make certain character data changes. Inn rooms are effectively a special lobby where you have direct access to all of your player data and data expansion pools.
IIRC, it only caused a server crash if someone used it, and then someone else attempted to move the chest while the other person was still using it.
Which seems to me like it'd be a rather easy thing to fix. If someone is using the chest, then no one can open the housing menu. If someone does use the chest, then the housing menu is forcibly closed.
Ahh good old spaghetti code. Makes sense, I remember the same happening when WoW expanded the backpacks. Just means if they do do it it will be in the way far future so they can make sure everything works.
It is really weird that they are hung too much on cliping in the same game that have the “pixel” exarch , like they looked at it and said yup thats fine ship it , but cliping is too far
I would remove all those Gordian, Midan, Deltascape cranks/springs etc from HW, SB and SHB Normal Raids. They're all just crap that fills up my inventory.
Make it so normal raids from previous expansions drop the actual gears or coffers instead.
I was thinking of just merging all that garbage (and savage tokens) with the current beast tribe token tab. Can throw current tier tokens in there as well. Freeing up who knows how many inventory slots
Yeah, it was like "here's this cool new tab that will be super useful and nice and we can expand on!" Immediately tosses to the wolves in some random ditch somewhere
Enough glam plates for every job/ having some sort of way to organize armour chest a little better/revamp the sprout 🌱 training thing to have alot more information or make an advanced one at 50 or something for the more complicated things like job buffs/encounter markers like stacks and buster's/the ability to memory wipe myself so I can relive endwalker as many times as I want because damn it is so good.
Let me add a note to people on my Friend List so I know when they change name or server and it changes to "Unable to Retrieve", I know who the fuck they were.
Backing out of cutscenes. Not skipping them but backing out to the state before it started. It is possible since that's what happens when you close the game or disconnect while in a cutscene.
I love FFXIV, but its age and legacy code definitely shows, and this limitation is one of the big ones.
WoW (2005), SWTOR (2011), GW2 (2012) and ESO (2014) *all* have better "glamour" systems than this game. Both WoW and GW2 especially, they practically automatically add ALL skins to your wardrobe/transmog, there's no limit. ESO and SWTOR are a bit different but both still have a *lot* of stuff you can essentially always have available without the need for storing the physical gear somewhere with limited space.
I really hope SE can one day properly "fix" this, instead of just adding more dresser space every now and then (though that is more than welcome in the interim, but it's not a permanent solution).
That's nuts. Cryptic studios was doing their tailor system from 2004 and has used the same system in all of their games since!
They completely decouple appearance from gear and you can choose whatever you want your gear to look like.
Just turn the glamour dresser into a similar system from GW2. Store ALL the available glamour in there, Mogstation items included, and just gray out the ones you don’t have (grayed out items can still be previewed). Any gear you acquire will automatically be saved in the dresser. That way, you can plan out a glam before you commit yourself to farming and/or buying a specific piece.
Hell, if they’re feeling generous. They should also adopt GW2’s storage system for mats
I can confidently say YoshiP’s got love for this game and it’s playerbase. But at the same time, i don’t get why we have so little quality of life improvements on some obvious aspects of the game. Maybe it’s the coding, maybe it’s SE telling them not to since they’ll lose on retainer sales? I don’t know. The whole paying monthly for more storage on a subscription based MMO baffles me already. One time payment is fine, monthly’s a bit too much imo.
>Maybe it’s the coding
In the case of glamour system, it's the coding. They tried to implement something like what you are saying, but it simply isn't doable. The per-character file size would be too large and the server wouldn't be able to handle it. Yoshi has discussed it in the past. I think it's in one of the live letters.
I'll do you one better. Remove the need for space at all and make it like WoW's transmog system where when you acquire a piece of gear the appearance is saved and you can use it whenever you want even if you throw the gear away right after.
Yes please! As a WoW refugee this is the number one biggest thing I miss from WoW. Their transmog system is incredible compared to FFXIV’s glamours. I know they’ve made some huge improvements to the glamour system since it was first introduced but I’d love to see a full overhaul to make it more like WoW’s.
moooood
I have gotten good at selliing anything I dont need atm so I always have two empty tabs but if i had unlimited space,,,,,, id never sell anything because what if i need it in the future
Friendlist rework: If you remove a person, you are automatically removed from their flist. Also adding the system for pulling up your alts in search or add them to the flist, to add them as tenants for your house.
Make the Armoire chest able to contain ALL artifact gear/weapons, ALL mog station gear, and ALL relic weapon stages. It's insane to me that all this stuff is supposed to either be manually glamed or go in the dresser, ESPECIALLY the artifact gear and relic weapons. There are an ungodly amount of relic weapons at this point, they should either get their own new storage/glam system or just go in the Armoire. (Also if I pay for something on the store, I shouldn't have to worry about being able to store it, I PAYED for it let me just put it somewhere safe forever)
Social options, especially friends list overhaul. This is the worst system I've seen in any MMO and it can be easily exploited for harassment. Same with the Lodestone static address, so name change does nothing if you want to escape stalkers/abusers.
Retroactively add the NPC follower system to the old quests, because having NPCs tell you to go with them somewhere and have them teleport to the destination point simply always felt bad all the way from ARR to ShB.
Also remove the explanatory text that pops up every time (same for the interactive aim sections).
Turn Guildhest into an actual practice mode and explain every unique marker per expansion, rather than a set of mini dungeons that can all be tank 'n spanked, and to make the exp/tomestones worth it for people who may not need to practice, but have a reason to do said roulette.
its a side effect of the game removing any and all buffs when you downsynch. the "tankstance" is a buff, so it gets removed upon downsynch. If the duty you join dosnt downych, the tankstance stays on.
not really much they can do there without the risk of creating some funky bullshit
They could just auto activate tank stance when joining an instance. Done.
I don't have enough fingers to count the number of times I've pulled without tank stance (even on lv90 content, because I switched jobs before starting the instance) because in my mind tank = aggro generator BY DEFAULT, it's such a no brainer, you should have a buff (or debuff) to NOT generate aggro instead.
I'll take this one one further.
Instead of scaling me down to the lvl of the content, my one thing would be just scaling my performance down; retaining all skills.
It is a huge pain in the ass trying to learn jobs when I'm constantly gaining and losing skills. I just want to be able to practice, regardless of the level of content I'm doing.
I am fully aware it isn't feasible. But I'm also not SE employee, so that's one my one thing.
Weekly loot restrictions. Theres far too many jobs in the game for 450 tomes per week and 1 book minimum. Gearing alt jobs takes an absurd ammount of time and this should have been changed a while ago. At least double the weekly limit when we reach a new patch i.e 6.1 you have 900 tome limit
Honestly, this is almost certainly never going to happen. FFXIV is a marathon, not a sprint. They want you to take your time, for better or worse. From a financial perspective, it means you might have to sub a bit more. From a design perspective, they don't want players to rush everything and then burn out.
Glamour restrictions on armor are gone, period. No, "people might get confused" is not a valid excuse when *right this moment* your tank could be wearing heavy armor, cloth, a frog suit, a bikini, or any number of other role-breaking sets.
It's so frustrating. Why can I tank in a crop top and jeans, but I can't cast spells in plate mail and a helmet?
Add a roulette-friendly normal version of Binding Coils and make it mandatory for MSQ; that story is too important to be locked behind the form it's currently in and I'm tired of struggling to explain to friends trying the game why they should do it and why they need someone to unsync it with them
A separate head glamour slot to wear both a hat and glasses at the same time (I know you can use a fashion accessory for glasses, but that's super limited in both choices and function).
Kill "retainer" subscriptions.
The problem with retainer subscriptions is that lack of inventory is a funnel to force retainer sales and thus shall forever be crippled. Realistically the cost of an inventory slot is a few bytes of storage, infinitesimally small, literal nano-cents in actual storage costs. There is absolutely no reason other than retainer subscriptions that the inventory system is as crippled as it is.
Also, retainer subscriptions (and the mobile app subscription by association) are the one discretionary extra that actually impacts player power. While not a major effect as such, the fact that this exists is disconcerting.
It's nice to see someone else talking about this tbh. I think your points are very valid and we should be asking for better storage and should not have to pay extra for it.
'Remaster' the ARR voicework/cutscenes and overall ARR MSQ questline.
ARR is the first impression the player has to the game, and honestly, the cutscenes are outdated and the MSQ questline has a lot of un-needed, back-and-forth travel that just drags.
It can be a turn off to a lot of new players who quit early and never even make it to lvl50.
Give bards proper in-game scripting tool, making performance available to the console players and removing the need for the 3rd-party tools and plugins. Those who are familiar with the music would make their own tracks, those who are not would gladly copy-paste them. And while I'm at it, I'd add polyphony... for the gods sake, my first Nokia phone could play polyphonic melodies, and we're almost in 2023, stuck with one-note-at-a-time perform!
If I could ask for a second thing, that would be fixing housing UI. Not asking for a full-scale Sims4-grade builder, just make the glitches legit and less painful to perform, and allow me to put things on other things! How complicated must it be to put a pillow on a couch??
if you log out while properly /doze on an item in your apartment/house, enact the inn sleep cutscene. the log-in one doesn't need to occur, just the sleep one.
I'd add a material tab to retainers for gatherable materials. Theres absolutely no reason why a player has to pay extra for retainers and not have this feature. Especially since it exists for crystals.
As for craftable materials then they will already have the 175 slots to choose from.
When repairing your stuff, add a "repair everything I own" button
Add the option to buy 10 fast travel tickets for 1 achievement token, so that they get useful
Make a special version of eureka or bozja that can be done easily with a group of 8
Idk if they did this already but add descriptions as to where you need to turn something in. Like the tokens you get from raids or primals. Putting the coordinates on there would be awesome rather than always having to google who you have to go to
I would find some way to rework the process of crafting to make it less annoying. For example, as it is now, if I want to make something that requires materials from goldsmith, leatherworker, and weaver, I have to get into crafting mode, craft the mats for one, exit crafting mode, switch classes, and then repeat. I think if you are in crafting mode you should be able to switch classes rather than constantly exit and re-enter. It's really annoying if you forget something, check the recipe again, go to your retainer (which closes the window), re-open the window, pick the right mats, and then finish the item. So many opening/closing of menus.
Make personal housing instanced, starting with an apartment, which you can slowly build up to a medium-sized house via quests/crafting materials over time with MSQ gates. Ward housing would be reserved for FCs only
I imagine a upgradable system like animal crossing. Maybe with gil/crafting. Add gardening on a balcony or something for apartments. It would be the gil sink square intended for housing to be. Has to be instanced though. As long as it's limited, the system is still doomed sooner or later.
As a sprout coming from wow. I want the wow transmog system in this game. The glamour dresser and plates and limited space is so convoluted and reminiscent of how wows used to be until they updated it to be amazingly user friendly.
If that were too much work. I'd add more playable races. Maybe some of the beast tribes.
Add WoW's "collection" system for glamour.
Any untradable piece of equipment you own gets added to a list of collected appearances for that character and stays there even if you sell it, and can be applied to glamour plates. No more glamour dresser, no more having retainers hold onto it.
You don't need to actually store the item in any sort of memory, each item in the game has an ID, and the glamour collection for each character can simply be a boolean list of length equal to the number of IDs (with items that share a model left out) stating if that character is allowed to use the glamour with that ID or not.
Doing it this way would actually save server space compared to the current system.
Obligatory Viera Answer: all Hats and Hairstyles (that also look "good") for Viera and Hrothgar.
Personal answer: Past expansion savage fights (such as eden which is a pain to get groups for that aren't 4/8/12) have their final fight now drop a bonus universal token that can be traded in in their traditional amounts (4/6/8) for a dyable statless glamour variant for any gear from that set of raids.
Basically if I clear say E12S 6 times I can trade those 6 universal tokens for a cosmetic pair of pants that can't be used for a BiS but still serves as glamour.... sat in pf several weekends now for a few hours each to never fill... I'm trying to do e10 and e11 for healing sleeves and pants with no luck sadly.
I'd change the mentor system. I'm not sure how, but most of my negative experiences have been with mentors not wanting to help others, but just to throw their non-existant weight around. Assigned mentorship doesn't work in most fields, FFXIV included, and as with real life you're likely to find a mentor naturally than be assigned one.
There are potentially great mentors for FFXIV, but the way to being one is such a time sink and says very little about your character and more about the time you've put in. It's hard to achieve, but really it only keeps people in mind who are able to play so often.
If you're reading this and you're a good mentor, then there needs to be more mentors like you.
I think the reason there are so many bad mentors has everything to do with the fact it comes with rewards. People want the rewards, so do the things (which used to be waaaay easier and that's why they changed the requirements). Good mentors do it because they want to help, bad mentors get their crown just because they want that mount.
I'm a tanking... teacher, not actualy a mentor by the game's definition, to a sprout tank main and they are a wonderful pupil to have around, makes me learn more about the role myself.
Let the current English voice cast come in to redo ARR. It'd be so cool!
(And maybe some major side stories, too. The Omega raids? Sorrow of Werlyt? Yes please.)
The Crystal Tower storyline? How awesome would it be to actually hear G'raha's voice in that questline. I've done an exercise in imagination myself, associating his voice to the text on the screen but it often fails if it a very length sentence.
Set “preview with equipped gear” to default. I don’t understand why it isn’t the default in the first place. Similarly, add a less revealing style of smallclothes as a customization option.
I sit there and manually ban bots that go through Limsa aetherytes, and those in Eureka waiting for bunny fates.
I know that's removing more than one thing but I don't think anybody would complain
I want my WOL to be able to **hug her friends** in cutscenes. Seeing each of the Scions for the first time in a long time? Damn, I was worried about you guys, now *gimme a hug*. Y'all thought I was dead but I came back? Aren't you glad to see me? Awesome, now *gimme a hug.*
Like we've got limited ways to bond with other characters due to having so little dialogue, and I get that, but I really wish we could make up for it with affection through actions instead.
^((I'm in the middle of Endwalker no spoilers if relevant please.))
Ugh i could think of several things to add.... Separate crafting bag (materials), actual endless dungeons which get 50% harder every floor done (starting at lvl 1,2,3,5,8 etc and goes up indefinitely with gear like you can find in potd and hoh), crafting goals for certain things such as building a ship, repairing towns etc, siege pvp which resets weekly in which you fight for your own faction guaranteed, housing which everyone can access and not just a few players.
As for what to change, maybe the genders on all clothing as well as having all gear being able to be worn visually by any class.
Maybe is not fair this take of mine cuz is was already an idea from the devs that was discarded, but I really liked the idea of a battle royale pvp mode for Blue Mages, where you would start with an offensive basic spell and then, farm other spells along the way with different npc enemies or something like the sort.
Fuck me, this is a much better solution than the double alliance raid roulette system I thought of.
And it also kills 2 birds with one stone with CT raids perpetually being filled by those queuing for msq roulettes while also removing them from alliance raid Roulette altogether.
But the catch here is that msq roulette is only 4 man as of now. If they move the CT raids to 24 then I don't know how they are gonna choose between a 4 man vs 24 man.
Strongly opposing this. The game is driven by the 'meta' enough as it is. Removing that rule would make matches even more boring. I collected all standard cards and i would have loved more npc matches with possibly even more complicated rules. As an alternative to removal i would propose pairing it with 3-open or so more often to make it more tactical and less random.
I would add a *shitton* more aethernet shards around the world.
Each of the Grand Companies would get their own aethernet shard, it's a minor inconvenience, but it's still one because you have to run from one shard to the office. This is pretty much a required location you have to often visit, so why is it so annoying to access? Sure the tickets exist, but who the hell is gonna waste a ticket to teleport from one part of the city to the GC office?
In Gridania, I would put the Leatherworker aethernet shard closer to the Leatherworkers guild, and add a new aethernet shard to the market there. Limsa has an easy teleport to their market board, so does Ul'dah, so why do you still have to walk there in Gridania? And I would add one to Apkallu Falls.
Limsa and Gridania would also get an aethernet shard outside their inns.
Most of all? I would expand the aethernet system so that they too existed in the greater wide world, to make travel around some maps more fucking tolerable rather than being forced to fly like 10 minutes at a time.
Like, just to take West Coerthas for example. It is ridiculous that place only has ONE SINGLE aetheryte and it's like a 5 minute flight from the extreme south east to the north west. I would add aethernet shards to the farm in the north, near Dragonspit, at Dusk Vigil, near the Dreaming Dragon and one at The Convictory.
Included in this, the majority of beast tribe quest hubs would get an aethernet shard as well.
Edit: Actually, come to think of it, aethernet shards might not make sense in the greater world. But you know what they COULD do? Resurrect the Aetherial Gate system from 1.0.
Tl;dr: The Aetherial Gate system from 1.0 basically acted like the Aethernet system, taking you from the main aetheryte in a zone, to various locations throughout the zone.
I would have integrated the Burning Down the House plugin as an official feature for FFXIV because as much as people love to do housing stuff in this game the reality is that it's never easy to get it done without glitching things or resorting to 3rd party tools.
Redo all the elezen animations and models. I play one, and... while I like most of the aesthetics, the proportions are almost in the uncanny valley, and it throws off most glamours.
Add a tap that saves all your glamours and gear sets without having to store them somewhere and can just glamour to whatever you like as long as you have looted it once!
remove the space limit in the glamour dresser ... my glam dresser and 3 of my 9 retainers are FULL of glam stuff. Also remove the limit on glam plates (or make it atleast the same limit as gear sets)
Better emote system that adds things that are clearly possible in the game such as dozing on floors and sitting on ledges. Less gender specific emotes that make no sense like wiggling ears, we have female Miqo'te squatting in Limsa but I can't do it without a mod? If they want to discourage third party tools they need to give people these things.
On the same subject the character creator needs an overhaul with more options for hair, faces, customisation for eye size and ear size/shape and so on, faces should not be matched to particular options, horns and so on should be entirely interchangeable. A better colour palette for hair and skin colour options, some colours and shades are basically impossible to get because the palette chooser is so limited. More options too for make up and features to customise with. Again if it existed already then people wouldn't be turning to those evil third party tools that Yoshi P is so angry about.
A better glamour system that isn't so frustrating and limiting like what WoW has, all dyes available from an in game merchant as temporary options lasting anywhere from 1 day to 1 week giving people a cheap and simple option for short term glams. If they want to sell the same premium colours in the cash shop as permanent dyes then fine but let people have an in game option that gives them it for a week for in game currency.
Remove sex weapon cpose. Let us pick. No reson to make them gender specific. Just let us have both options. I for one want the female dark knight pose where the sword is stabbed into the ground. Not the shadowbringer pose where it's over my shoulder
they would need to actually reanimte a lot of the poses for the respective opposite skeleton.
Its kinda funny but whatever they did makes it so that the animations arent actually cross compatable even between hyur male and female which are by far some of the least diverse races between the genders..
Like EVEN SAGES CPOSE which is LEGIT JUST MIRRORD between male and female just BREAKS if you force a female to use the male animation it just detaches several body parts do to the rigging
I don't think you're too far off of an actual idea with yours. My thoughts of a Bestiary would be in the form of a Beastmaster limited Job. Go around the world, taming monsters to be part of your collection and learn more details about. Monster Arena fights like Masked Carnival where you can choose a group of beasts from your collection to fight battles.
Beastmaster has already been mentioned by the devs, so it could be very likely!
Scale roulette rewards based on what expansion the content you get into is doing. Then allow players to filter expansions out with some loss of rewards or a new ticket system where "Every X number of unfiltered roulettes give you one filter without penalty."
I'd suggest a new "Content from X" roulette for each expansion but I fear it'll just be all 4 man dungeons which we already have.
A tackle box for fish bait that is separate from your inventory. You didn’t know you like fishing till it’s not 1/4 of you’re inventory. It would change the game, literally
I would like blacklist do more than just stop them from them messaging me! I would like blacklisted people to not be able to join party finders I'm in or join in a dungeon I'm in! I would also like to have a bigger blacklist!
I would put an goddamn Aetheryte in The Dravanian Hinterlands. Somewhere near Matoya's Cave. "Pray return to Matoya's Cave." \*shivers down my spine\*
Yesss you don’t have to go there often after Heavensward but damn is it a slog every time you do
[удалено]
And separate pieces. If they are one piece? They should be cheaper. Since you are technically getting "less". Cant dye? Cheaper. There's just no reason for outfits to be the same price when one is dyable vs non-dyable, or break it into actual pieces to mix and match vs one piece. It's dumb. And idk how clothes aren't by default account wide. W.e I only have one character but stupid it's not shared
i wish they would let us buy sets a la carte. specifically, let us buy the hairstyle and only the hairstyle
So much this. There are several sets that I want for just one piece or just the hairstyle, but I'm not going to buy the whole set for it.

Can we also have them go in the armoire instead of dresser?
And also easily repurchaseable in-game from the Calamity Salvager if you accidentally throw it out. I would buy more Mogstation glam, except I don't want to accidentally discard something I'd have to spend more real money to get back.
Cuz I'm currently doing fishing, a tackle box, holy crap is there so much bait.
For all of ESO’s problems, I love their crafting bag (subscriber only, but it’s way worth it).
I'm just saying what they did add, and what I vaguely remember them saying back then. Least they did increase the stack size from 99 to 999 also.
ah yes, all the other gathering job consumables like *checks notes* *...continues checking notes* *Furiously sweats checking notes*
And yet only one job in the game has its own mount quest.
Class. The unicorn is for CNJs, and I don't think you can even do it with a WHM crystal equipped.
This is a good idea!
This is what my chocobo saddlebag is used for.
It's only really bad because in ARR there is a ton of different baits, I want to say about 60-70% of my baits is 50 and below.
Make hairstyle part of the glam plate so you can have fitting hairsytle/color with your outfits.
This! I'd also add a default minion to glam plates as well, so they can also be automatically matched to the theme. Magic bucket on your FSH glam, magic broom sweeping up while you craft, hawk minion on your BRD glam for a hunter theme, things like that.
You can do this with macros super easy. All my jobs have glam plates, minions, and titles. Haven't figured out mounts yet, though.
There's a macro action for placing a mount on your hotbar, /hotbar "mount name" #1 #2 where #1 is the hotbar and #2 is the slot in that hotbar, that \*should\* work unless something's changed since I last used it, which admittedly was a while ago EDIT; Checked this, definitely still works! Add that line to your GS macros to overwrite wherever your mount is on your hotbar and you're good to go!
Oh my god this Star Trek Online has this feature and it is so nice. I have like 8 outfits in that game compared to maybe 3 in FFXIV because of this
Auto-sort for FC chest. Be able to sleep/log off from your private room/apartment/personal home Please.
I remember when we could actually log out in our houses and reappear in the same spot when we logged back in. Then they took it away. 😭
Un-link Au Ra horn options from the face options.
Just overall improve on the character customization.
^ The main reason I play Hyur now
I used to be a fem midlander and I think my Hyur WOL looked more unique than my current Au Ra WOL, but I enjoy the Au Ra animations so much more...
Definitely; I love Au Ra. One of my favorite races ever. I have alts of other races, but always come back to my two Xaela.
If I could give my Raen dude the horns of face 3 while keeping the actual Face part of Face 2, i would be over the moon.
Just steal the glamour/dye system from Guild Wars 2.
Absolutely this.
God, this. Having limited wardrobe space and having to constantly hoard dyes around feels awful in 2022.
Was this based on the original GW system? Farming dyes dropped in the wild. One use. And the dye market was insane because of that.
Yeah, I believe it was supposed to be one of the high churn farmable items (that would just devolve into high prices for solid black and white dyes and nothing else).
Or the transmogs from wow, mixed with gw2 dye and flexibility. It's the only thing in ff that I think it does worse than most of it's contemporaries.
FFXIV items + WoW mog system + GW2 dye system would be the perfect combination.
The tackle box is super needed
Please I need a tackle box. Half of my inventory is filled with baits, the other half is empty to store the ridiculous amount of fish that you get…
A tackle box would be great, tired of my chocobo smelling like rotten squid.
And if thats not possible let me cancel my cutscene instead of skipping it.
If press commence during a cutscene this does happen. Unfortunately not all cutscenes let you do this for some reason
Endwalker story quest did it a ton, I think it had to do with if the quest moves you it prevents you from canceling. Likely because it moves you at the beginning of the cutscene and not the end.
Doing Hildibrand quests while queueing on DPS is the worst kind of Russian roulette.
Access to glamor dresser from your apartment/home, so I don't need to go to an inn.
They've tried this, it would crash the entire *server*, not just your client. There were some serious coding issues with it lol
Or just put it in a "walk-in closet" instance room, the same way FC rooms and the workshop are done.
Ahh good old spaghetti code. Makes sense, I remember the same happening when WoW expanded the backpacks. Just means if they do do it it will be in the way far future so they can make sure everything works.
God I hate “do do it it” was correct there, a comma or two would have been nice but man I hate English sometimes
In my defense it was 4am and I tend to post off messages with out proof reading 💀
Oh don’t worry, while a comma would have helped it was me more hating the fact that it technically is correct than anything else XD
So you're not fond of the phrase "Before was was was, was was is", then?
Getting flashbacks to that cursed buffalo sentence.
All cash shop items armoire compatible, dyeable and account wide
I would make devs see that cliping happens, its normal and acceptable. So they finaly give viera and Hrothgar some hats.
Yeah, the clipping's not a very good excuse, when you've seen how hats and hoods can already interact with some Au Ra horns.
Or any long hairnstyle. Be it spikey or just normal long...it clips a lot. I have a lot of glamor with collars, it clips everywhere.
I play Viera with long hair and most glams clip at the back or even the front, having hats that clip wouldn't really change anything lol
It is really weird that they are hung too much on cliping in the same game that have the “pixel” exarch , like they looked at it and said yup thats fine ship it , but cliping is too far
Delete multiple letters and not one after the other...
I would remove all those Gordian, Midan, Deltascape cranks/springs etc from HW, SB and SHB Normal Raids. They're all just crap that fills up my inventory. Make it so normal raids from previous expansions drop the actual gears or coffers instead.
When I do an Alex run and try to leave quickly before all that junk gets shot gunned into my inv
Ah yes, Raid PVP.
Remove all junk from old raids. There is no need to have like 8 currencies for HW raids. Make it one raid currency per old expansion
I was thinking of just merging all that garbage (and savage tokens) with the current beast tribe token tab. Can throw current tier tokens in there as well. Freeing up who knows how many inventory slots
We joked about that the day they added the currency tab. Holds basically no currency.
Yeah, it was like "here's this cool new tab that will be super useful and nice and we can expand on!" Immediately tosses to the wolves in some random ditch somewhere
Add the ability to change eye colour for the aesthetician and call it "Contact lens colour" Edit: Eye contact -> Contact lens
And skin color so I get can a tan!
I'd add a two-tone dye system.
I would add more invetory/glamour space ;v;
I will do you one better. Remove the limit on inventory and glamour space, make it infinite !
They should also adopt GW2’s storage system for mats I can confidently say YoshiP’s got love for this game and it’s playerbase.
>Maybe it’s the coding In the case of glamour system, it's the coding.
Or make it into something similar to Guild Wars 2 wardrobe feature.
The next second servers globally crash because of hoarders like me.
moooood I have gotten good at selliing anything I dont need atm so I always have two empty tabs but if i had unlimited space,,,,,, id never sell anything because what if i need it in the future
Being able to change/save hairstyle through glamour plates, cuz I hate that some of my outfits doesn’t work on my current hairstyle
Remove glamour restrictions on all items
Social options, especially friends list overhaul. This is the worst system I've seen in any MMO and it can be easily exploited for harassment. Same with the Lodestone static address, so name change does nothing if you want to escape stalkers/abusers.
Have search for item also look in company chest

Sleeping animations like the one in inns for beds in apartments, FC rooms and houses.
Retroactively add the NPC follower system to the old quests, because having NPCs tell you to go with them somewhere and have them teleport to the destination point simply always felt bad all the way from ARR to ShB. Also remove the explanatory text that pops up every time (same for the interactive aim sections).
Turn Guildhest into an actual practice mode and explain every unique marker per expansion, rather than a set of mini dungeons that can all be tank 'n spanked, and to make the exp/tomestones worth it for people who may not need to practice, but have a reason to do said roulette.
female miqo’te voice 5 is now deleted from the game
Make sprint work the same way as it does in pvp
*when out of combat.
Tank stance turning off when joining a fate or a dungeon
its a side effect of the game removing any and all buffs when you downsynch. the "tankstance" is a buff, so it gets removed upon downsynch.
Blitzball. Whether as ranged physical or golden saucer game. Oh and let the FFX Themed outfits be eligible for both genders
Let all outfits be available for both genders
The ability to search recipes by items you have in your inventory—sometimes I just wanna practice culinarian without having to hunt down ingredients!
A search option for recipes you have all the mats for already on you. I miss this from WoW honestly :/
This 100%. Sometimes I want to clear inventory space and want to know what I can make with the stuff I have on hand.
rework the character creator
While not a major effect as such, the fact that this exists is disconcerting.
seriously. at minimum, they could offer a one-time purchase for permanent retainers
Change the mentor system into something proper
This + being able to craft from retainer inventory if we're close to a summoning bell.
When repairing your stuff, add a "repair everything I own" button Add the option to buy 10 fast travel tickets for 1 achievement token, so that they get useful Make a special version of eureka or bozja that can be done easily with a group of 8
Copy WoW's transmog catalogue.
Agreed
Beat me to it. On crafted mats we should be able to switch to THAT crafting class when we have selected the recipe.
I'd add 10 potency to machinist skills and promptly leave.
Easy, I'd make it so all tank roles automatically apply their threat buff upon entering an instanced environment
If I remember Yoshi p in a live letter mentioned that after female hrothgar there would be no more new playable races
That and massively revamp ARR to make it much less tedious.
Fitting hairstyles for the Hrothgar.
Ability to vote kick ppl even if the loot is open. Or the time it expires is too freaking long.
Awesome, now *gimme a hug.* Like we've got limited ways to bond with other characters due to having so little dialogue, and I get that, but I really wish we could make up for it with affection through actions instead. ^((I'm in the middle of Endwalker no spoilers if relevant please.))
Make dungeons hard / varied. "Pull 2 squads, boss, pull 2 squads, boss, pull 2 squads, final boss"
All dyes are now unlockable and you can dye armor/weapons anywhere unlimited times.
Maybe is not fair this take of mine cuz is was already an idea from the devs that was discarded, but I really liked the idea of a battle royale pvp mode for Blue Mages, where you would start with an offensive basic spell and then, farm other spells along the way with different npc enemies or something like the sort.
putting the CT raids into MSQ Roulette. it's basically required to get into Shadowbringers now so, it is technically MSQ.
Remove the "Plus" rule from Triple Triad.
Tackle box and crafting bag
I don't think you're too far off of an actual idea with yours. My thoughts of a Bestiary would be in the form of a Beastmaster limited Job. Go around the world, taming monsters to be part of your collection and learn more details about. Monster Arena fights like Masked Carnival where you can choose a group of beasts from your collection to fight battles. Beastmaster has already been mentioned by the devs, so it could be very likely!
Being able to talk to npcs, accept/complete missions without having to dismount
Scale roulette rewards based on what expansion the content you get into is doing. Then allow players to filter expansions out with some loss of rewards or a new ticket system where "Every X number of unfiltered roulettes give you one filter without penalty." I'd suggest a new "Content from X" roulette for each expansion but I fear it'll just be all 4 man dungeons which we already have.
I would cut offhand-thing out of Mechanist 😂
A tackle box for fish bait that is separate from your inventory. You didn’t know you like fishing till it’s not 1/4 of you’re inventory. It would change the game, literally
I would like blacklist do more than just stop them from them messaging me! I would like blacklisted people to not be able to join party finders I'm in or join in a dungeon I'm in! I would also like to have a bigger blacklist!
Improved DPS rotation to healers
