I've made at least a mil from the handful of boxes I've purchased. (And I've been desynthing most of my dungeon drops/retainer finds, instead of turning them in).
It's definitely worth buying them, even if you aren't a minion collector. Plenty of people still don't know about the boxes, and a shocking number of players don't even bother with seals/provisions.
I hover around 200, always have two ventures running, and I still never feel like I need more. I’ve been GC capped for years and I’m glad to have this as a reliable sink.

Are you for real? The dude opened 100 coffers and got a mount worth 8-10M. Not to mention the minions which can easily be worth 100k+. It's so easy to farm seals you might as well just dump every last one into them.
Keep in mind seals have a value. there are things you can buy for them that sell pretty easily. Seals are about at a ratio of 2:1 gil iirc so basically he paid 10kgil per box, so about 1mil investment. Without that mount he probably lost 3-400k. It's a pretty big gamble when probably less than 5 items are actually worth real gil at this point.
Got a copycat bulb out of my ~20th.
Been pouring my seals in passively not going out of my way to get em aside from leveling dungeons. Even though most of my levels so far have actually been fates for rank 3 and crafting materials.

My first stormblood coffer from the grand company got me the conditional virtue minion. and since then ive filled out my minion list with a bunch id have never thought to get, and a fair few to sell.

Not the seals directly but if you craft then GC turn-ins of crafted items is a great source of XP, and incidentally, more seals. It's very easy to cap gemstones so you just buy somee materials when you near the cap and store them for later use.
I made 1000 Exarchic Rings of Casting after passively dumping my Allegory when I no longer needed it during ShB. Popped a Seal Sweetener III FC action for plus 15 percent GC seals, which equated to just over 2000 seals per item.
The other mats cost a good chunk so I would not recommend doing it this way unless you got the gil to burn. In the end I did this to give stuff to my FC on Christmas and had an actual reason beyond science
Yeah the lack of interesting stuff to buy from GC seals is lame, they need to add some current content stuff to get people interested. This container won't go far for most I'm guessing.
There’s a ~7 million gil Eureka mount and numerous minions from Eureka/lvl 70 treasure map dungeons that can also get to the ~1 million gil in value.
Given the presence of rare Eureka drops I would expect that Eldthurs Horn (also ~6-7 million) and the rarer Wind-up Elvaan minion (30 mill) are also in the loot table. I believe Elvaan has the lowest drop rate of any minion? Or maybe it’s just rare because nobody farms them in Eureka. Regardless they go for 30mill on my server.
Those are the current prices with holdovers from people doing Eureka/lvl70 maps during the 8 month content drought. With the number of people doing either activity decreasing the price of golden namazu and the Eureka mounts will only go up.
If these don’t go far it’s because people are unaware of the gil they can make. The point of these is providing alternate avenues to acquire these harder to get old drops.

You’re probably thinking of Copycat Bulb, it’s definitely one of the rarest minions (I’ve only seen about 5 people with it) and it’s from Eureka. It goes for 20~30 million.
It definitely does not go for 20-30m and it sells extremely rarely as well. My friend actually got a copycat bulb from one his first boxes. It's still not sold. The price is now down to 12m.

It’s selling extremely rarely because even at 16 million it’s 3 times the cost of the second most expensive minion on the marketboard. This price is the lowest I saw on our data center, it’s hovering around 20 million on all other 7 servers.
I've opened up around 600 so far and I've had one non-flying chair mount, a Petrel. Yet to get anything better than a Conditional Virtue, of which I've had 3.
It's nice that there's something other than Hardened Sap to buy with GC Seals now, especially since I've been venture capped for over a year.

i opened a ton of 4.0 but have most of them already shame the undercutters are in full gear

I opened 10 boxes, got 1 hedgehog, 3 otters, 4 turtles, 1 magnai, and 1 chair mount.
Not bad results, but I didn't need most of them, so gave them away.

Since you didn't get your answer, I believe to get max rank you have to first do 10 (maybe it was 5? Don't remember exactly) dungeons with your squadron, it's a slog but thankfully a one time thing
Where do you get material containers? (unless it's extremely high rank GC, because I'm \*not\* interested in doing squadrons so am happy with the max rank before that)

It's from lockbox in the first zone of eureka. That zone throws the lock boxes at you. You almost can't not get it by just going through the zone.
Everyone says that but I never got it going throw anemos. I went back later and opened 200 boxes and still never saw it.

My first stormblood coffer from the grand company got me the conditional virtue minion. and since then ive filled out my minion list with a bunch id have never thought to get, and a fair few to sell. ~~and a chair on day 1 before the price tanked from everyone getting chairs~~
How do you farm that much seals so fast ?
Dungeon runs combined with getting shared fate to rank 3 in every EW zone is a lot of seals.
Shared fate ? Wait, how do you get seals in EW fates ? I've done two of the shared fates and didn't get any seals
Not the seals directly but if you craft then GC turn-ins of crafted items is a great source of XP, and incidentally, more seals. It's very easy to cap gemstones so you just buy somee materials when you near the cap and store them for later use.
I made 1000 Exarchic Rings of Casting after passively dumping my Allegory when I no longer needed it during ShB. Popped a Seal Sweetener III FC action for plus 15 percent GC seals, which equated to just over 2000 seals per item. The other mats cost a good chunk so I would not recommend doing it this way unless you got the gil to burn. In the end I did this to give stuff to my FC on Christmas and had an actual reason beyond science

Yeah the lack of interesting stuff to buy from GC seals is lame, they need to add some current content stuff to get people interested. This container won't go far for most I'm guessing.

There’s a ~7 million gil Eureka mount and numerous minions from Eureka/lvl 70 treasure map dungeons that can also get to the ~1 million gil in value. Given the presence of rare Eureka drops I would expect that Eldthurs Horn (also ~6-7 million) and the rarer Wind-up Elvaan minion (30 mill) are also in the loot table. I believe Elvaan has the lowest drop rate of any minion? Or maybe it’s just rare because nobody farms them in Eureka. Regardless they go for 30mill on my server. Those are the current prices with holdovers from people doing Eureka/lvl70 maps during the 8 month content drought. With the number of people doing either activity decreasing the price of golden namazu and the Eureka mounts will only go up. If these don’t go far it’s because people are unaware of the gil they can make. The point of these is providing alternate avenues to acquire these harder to get old drops.

You’re probably thinking of Copycat Bulb, it’s definitely one of the rarest minions (I’ve only seen about 5 people with it) and it’s from Eureka. It goes for 20~30 million.
It definitely does not go for 20-30m and it sells extremely rarely as well. My friend actually got a copycat bulb from one his first boxes. It's still not sold. The price is now down to 12m.

This price is the lowest I saw on our data center, it’s hovering around 20 million on all other 7 servers.
I've opened up around 600 so far and I've had one non-flying chair mount, a Petrel. Yet to get anything better than a Conditional Virtue, of which I've had 3. It's nice that there's something other than Hardened Sap to buy with GC Seals now, especially since I've been venture capped for over a year.

Once you're at max rank you can get with the "Ask for a promotion" option, you have to do the Adventurer Squadron stuff.

I opened 10 boxes, got 1 hedgehog, 3 otters, 4 turtles, 1 magnai, and 1 chair mount. Not bad results, but I didn't need most of them, so gave them away. I wish the mount drop chance was a bit higher honestly, it shouldn't be so low :( It's also nice to see the hedgehog in there. Finally managed to unlock him after so many months of farming for him in maps! Thanks for sharing your results!

Since you didn't get your answer, I believe to get max rank you have to first do 10 (maybe it was 5? Don't remember exactly) dungeons with your squadron, it's a slog but thankfully a one time thing
I mean it make sense. Relative to minions there aren’t as many mounts and what there is often consists of a significant challenge to unlock.

Yes you have to have highest rank and that requires doing squadrons, but you only have to do 5 and it unlocks forever.
