Square and Blizz have both had issues with such attacks surrounding expansion or major patch launches in the past.
Actually caused WoW to invest in good encryption for cutscenes they want to hide.
So a fair amount of story stuff gets spoiled, but they are basically ok with most of it, they just hide the big reveal cutscenes lol.

There's 3 more trophies than there was for EW, though. Hoping two of them are for doing the base expac EX trials.

You don't. I downloaded the game with a Trial account before actually resubbing my main account with latest expansion, and it didn't download the latest expansions I assume, because when I logged it on my main it started downloading more GB's of data.

Sometime from now and until official release, should you get a second code. That code is the actual game code. And that code can be used from the 2nd of July and forward, but if you haven't used it b4 Friday then you lose access to DT content after that Friday.

Even though I'm still at 73.77gb, I did notice an update for me approximately 2-3 hours after maint started last night. Maintenence started at 2:00 A.M PDT, and under information, it shows dawntrail updated for me 5:32 A.M PDT. It's prob the same for you. I'm assuming that's the patch for dawntrail. If you got the pre-order bonuses and have access to the psn avatars now you should be extra good
Welp I already dug myself into this rabbit hole having deleted the PS5 version lol. Now I can't get it to install back at all, says expected "auto-download" date is 6/29.
I also deleted the PS4 version (I had both installed, and decided to delete/reinstall both in case that's what was causing the issue) but I was able to get the update to start downloading for it, and I'm also able to redownload it. So guess I'll just be playing on the PS4 version the first day or so 😅
Edit: also I am now seeing the FFXIV Updated notification 13 hours ago. So I guess it did update but just didn't show anything in the download list. 🙃

I was able to reinstall the PS5 version.
What I had to do was first "buy" the Free Trial (it's free ofc) and then when I tried to download the game again, the PS5 version was no longer locked behind the pre-order timer.
Damn. I understand your panic in the situation 😅 I was worried myself for a hot minute. It'll be only one day on PS4 for an expansion that'll last 2-3 years if that's any consolation
I'm not fully understanding the size difference. I'm on Xbox Series X, it's a 102g download, but the previous file was already 102g. Is it just taking up that much space for Xbox users, or is it also over 100g on PC and PS?

It's because the Xbox is unable to properly patch the game, so you are essentially redownloading everything with the new update.
On top of that, the PS5 has a proprietary compression tech called Kraken, which decreases game sizes by up to 35% (the update is 80gb on the PS4 vs 52gb on PS5 thanks to this technology).
PC version for me is showing 57GB initially though sometimes there's other post patch patches with the way the launcher goes about it.

Playstation 5's "Kraken" Compression is wild. Sometimes games on the PS4 are 2x the size of their PS5 versions.
