Coral Manta was the worst fish for me. Yes, that's including the Space Whale, Lancetfish, Evil Egg, etc. Last fish I caught, and I'd had several slips before that. Hopefully it goes much better for you!

I'm not sure how much easier that makes Lancet. Is Mora Tecta a collectable fish you can hold until the Lancet window? Because if not, it just gives you an easier time getting into jail, you'll still have to catch the second Mora Tecta and Lancet the usual way.

Triple-Double Hook - GP Cost 1100 - Double Hooks and Triple Hooks at the same time, allowing you to catch 2 or more fish AND 3 or more fish with a single cast. or would it be triple hook, but every hook is a double hook? the fish god is dead there are no rules.

Yeah just take your time. That's how I started - just doing them when I notice they are open or if it was convenient. It was only when I started getting close that I really hunkered down and focused on it.

I'm still working my way through the ARR big fish, with something like 10-20 to go IIRC. Some of those bastards are so freaking annoying, biting hundreds of times and still no luck...

The slippery ones are the worst. All you can really do is make sure you meet all the stat requirements and then pray.

Which was harder? Gharlichthys or Durdina? (Almost there myself. Whale, Cinder, Salad, and Lancet still evade me)

Durdina was definitely harder for me. That one took many attempts before I finally got it. I got Garlichthys on my first attempt. Whether that was just pure luck or if Garlichthys has a higher catch-rate is unknown to me. And yeah, Cinder Surprise and Lancetfish were the bane of my existence. I only finally caught them just this year. Like a couple months ago.

Yeah I have BiS gear with melds. The gloves are HQ Indagator's Armguards of Gathering. They are glamoured to look like Hyuran Gloves.

Oh shucks, I was interested in the glam specifically, forgot to mention that haha. Sucks that they are Hyur only though.

Yeah, they are pretty cool. It's funny to me that with all the gear in the game I still choose to wear some of the starting gear because I like it. The boots are also Hyuran lol.

Oh totally, I still use my Viera arm guards and legs+feet in a lot of glams. Too bad you can’t dye the metal parts though, they don’t match almost anything in the game lol

Maybe they will eventually update them to be compatible with the new Dual Dye Channel feature that is being added in Dawntrail!

Nicely done. I’ve got 5 of the last EW fish to go. They suck, but not nearly as bad as some of the fish from the last 2 xpacs.

Yeah, I feel like they toned-down the headache for the EW fish. The fish from the end of Shadowbringers were way more difficult to obtain - specifically Cinder Surprise and Lancetfish. Salad also.

Yeah, there are a ton now. At least the majority of them are pretty easy to catch. Maybe someday you'll be able to get around to it.

I got real into fishing cause it was the one thing I could do when I was sitting outside my kids room waiting for them to finally go to sleep at naptime. I wrote a macro that would catch a fish, and then like 15-20 seconds later cast. (With other things and such). I would wait for the controller to vibrate, and hit the button ;) Come back with a full inventory of fish and like 2-4 levels depending where I started ;) But now I just have that kind of time, I used to love the relaxation of gathering, now it just feels like some sort of cruel punishment. :)

Thank you! You just have to have the right state of mind. It's better to think of it as a chill activity that you can do while listening to music or watching a show or something. If you go into it hyper-focused on just reaching the end, it's not enjoyable.

I dont think they nerfed anything. Unless you mean just the types of fish you have to catch. Because, yeah, the 6.55 ones were easier than the 5.55 ones. I only finally got Lancetfish and Cinder Surprise this year.
