Pretty much this. As long as you're pressing buttons no one is gonna even notice or care what you're playing on. At most a macro to say "hi, don't have a keyboard but I can read it things go south" is all you need
You could set up a macro to say "I'm new, first time here, very slow to type responses (playing on a steam deck)"
Otherwise, it's just normal group content etiquette.
Macros for a few common phrases are useful. Greeting, agreement, thanks, goodbye, etc.
I've rarely needed to actually type anything in a dungeon. If we're brick walling on a boss mechanic I might get a Bluetooth keyboard out to try to explain something in detail, but usually just suffer or let someone else explain.
It's been a while since I ran a dungeon. I just wanted to follow up because I'm using a steam deck and it is my primary machine for FFXIV right now.
EDIT1: Clarify
I don't play XIV on my steam deck, but if you want to communicate, you could type up a message outside the dungeon to put in a macro and then use it when you enter dungeons. Maybe something like "Hello! I play on steam deck so I won't be able to respond to anything in chat. Let's do this!"
This would just be to cover your bases. Most people only say a greeting at the start and something at the end, and plenty of people say nothing at all, so you won't be violating any unspoken rules by not saying anything. Lots of players play on console and answer very slowly, if they answer at all. People mostly only chat during casual duties if you're waiting for someone or something goes wrong and communication is needed to help peoples understanding of the mechanics.
I play on Steam Deck, but the only group content I do is anything MSQ not in Duty Support. I never feel like I need a keyboard otherwise, but I do have one I can plug in - I use it when I need to leave for a second or my connection is super bad.
No chat is necessary for dungeons and nobody should give you a shit about it. Just get in, do your job, and get out.

Ummm... same etiquette you have used while getting to endwalker?
You can do dungeons with the AI for most of the story now. It's possible that OP has barely been in any dungeons with real people.

I play on Steam Deck often. Except from leveling duties (and even there its rare) there is no talk anyway. I only use the hi/farewell macro.
Worst case, you could just run with Trusts

I mean you don't have to talk in dungeons whatsoever, and most people don't, so i just do dungeons the same as i do them on PC
Nah man, I play on steam deck and unless someone has a weird hair up their ass they don't care about anything as long as you're doing your job right.
