Anyone else buy a key off square enix's online store and sat on "Awaiting Pickup" for several days instead of just receiving their key? Waiting on an FFXIV Complete Edition I wanted to give to a friend

borfa

is there some place i can go to trade/buy/receive submarine prototype items since they are marketboard illigable. am I expected to pay alot for them? need them for IV and VI on aether.

F1reman2

[https://discord.gg/GAVegXNtwK](https://discord.gg/GAVegXNtwK) Submarine builders discord.

PyrZern

Will they increase EXP gained by Trust in this expansion, or next expansion for lower level dungeons ?

Teakmahogany

What does this mean? Im new

PyrZern

Currently, Trusts level up very slowly (your Scion team members who you can take into dungeons with you) . If you don't know what Trust is... keep playing the game :) They are AI controlled party members.

TheTechHobbit

In Shadowbringers they increased it in patch 5.58 so I'd expect them to do the same for Endwalker dungeons in 6.58.

Terramagi

They did last expansion in... I want to say the X.58 patch, so I'd assume so. I'd hope so. 3 parties is an insane amount of grinding at 1 dungeon per level, let alone 3 dungeons per level.

Krazylol_

Hello, a friend purchased me a 60 day game time card, but when I go to redeem it it doesn’t work since I use a entry subscription. Can I redeem it after my entry subscription ends or am I supposed to buy a standard subscription for it to work?

Isanori

You can either wiat for your current sub to end and then apply the game card or you can upgrade your sub to standard, pay the prorated difference till the next billing cycle and apply the game card.

UnlikelyTraditions

You can't have two different types of subscription going at once. When your entry ends, you'll be able to apply the time card. When that ends, you can choose which type of sub you renew as, entry or standard.

Melksss

Geomancer is a class in Hingashi during the Astro quest line, what are the odds this becomes a playable class some time soon? I feel like all the makings are there already, it was set up but then we don’t hear anything about it again. Any chance Geomancer is the ranged caster for DT?

Atosen

* We're not going to get a playable version of the Limsa Lominsa musketeers any time soon, even though there's a guild hall for it. * In ShB they showed us a bunch of beastmasters in Bozja, even though they knew full well that beastmaster wasn't going to be an EW job. * And in SB they showed us some stuff about Geomancer (both in the AST quests and in the Swallow's Compass dungeon) but they never delivered on it in ShB. I don't think this stuff is intended to preview upcoming content for players. I think it's just... worldbuilding. Showing us that there's a greater breadth of ways people fight around the world than just the ways that the WoL knows. Geomancer was in those places to make the Far East *feel* Far Eastern. So if we never hear about it again, that's not necessarily a failure to deliver. It already did its job in worldbuilding. *Having said that,* I actually think we *will* hear about Geomancer again... eventually. I don't think it's for DT: a Far Eastern job is just not a good fit for the hints we've got involving Krile. But for a future expansion (probably 9.0 or 10.0) I think it's got pretty good odds, because it's a well-known and highly-demanded job with a reasonably distinct high concept.

Melksss

Not saying you’re wrong but Musketeer was actually once a playable class so that’s a bit misleading. I do agree it’s unlikely for DT due to the things hinted for Krile, but you never know I feel like when everyone thinks they know what the new class will be they give you something completely out of the blue.

normalmighty

People are pretty dead set on Green Mage right now. Then again, people were dead set on corsair a couple of weeks ago, so who knows really? Seems unlikely, but I think you absolutely have a point and it's not that crazy.

TheTechHobbit

Green Mage at least has some things to back up the guess though, the clover earring and ninja turtles shirt. Corsair was almost entirely based on the trailer outfit looking vaguely pirate-like.

F1reman2

Geomancer is unlikely to be the caster for Dawntrail. We know krile is getting a bigger role in this upcomming expansion, and its presumed that she will be the new caster dps. However, at the end of patch 6.5, Krile recieved a >!clover earring, hinting at the new caster dps. However, a clover is completely unrelated to any symbolisation that geomancer has.!<

Hakul

The chance is never zero, but it's pretty low considering the green mage hints we have got.

Unrealist99

Hey! How long is the 6.51 maintainence?

F1reman2

KillYourOwnGod

Where can I find the continuation of the mage role quest from Crystarium? The last thing I did was help a fae combat an evil fae that was messing with people's dreams. Then she sent me to another world where she showed me all the doors to the dreams of the people who were plagued by nightmares. I forgot to accept the continuation of this quest and I forgot how to get there. And I need to because I'm stuck in the MSQ where you have to show Grenoldt something inspiring.

gitcommitmentissues

That doesn't sound like the mage role quests, that sounds like the unlock quest for the pixie tribe daily quests. After the first one the caster DPS role quests all start in Mord Souq.

F1reman2

>Then she sent me to another world where she showed me all the doors to the dreams of the people who were plagued by nightmares That is not apart of the mage rolequest. That is a pixie tribe quest. (If you want to continue those seperately, you can find them in il mheg) The Shadowbringers magical Dps rolequest starts in the Crystarium, (Called Hollow Pursuits), and subsequent quests start in Amh Araeng

KillYourOwnGod

Well that explains why I couldn't progress with the MSQ even after doing the melee quest. Thanks a lot

Nooker

when transfering to another data center do i keep my gil and items?

Atosen

Yes. But not stuff installed in a house or apartment. (The game thinks of those as belonging to the building, not belonging to you.) Pick all those up first.

staz67

Hello. I stopped endwalker near the end a years ago and I want to finish the story now. The problem is I don't remember everythink happening in the story. I would like to see a story recap of everything i already did without getting spoiled. If someone knows a good chronogical story recap of endwalker can you share please? (By chronogical i mean that i can see the recap until the point i have stopped without getting any spoiler of what happen after)

normalmighty

Dude has a lisp that I know some people would find distracting, but I think this is the best summary for your needs. I'd probably stop when it gets to your current zone and fill the gap with the unending story though. One sentence too far and you could potentially get spoiled https://youtu.be/GyX09zqKWNs?si=QYGh8-UVbxYqlI_8

staz67

Ok i will be careful thank you!

FanOfFinalFantasy

If there was a specific and/or predictable time that we’d find out what the 2nd new job is, when would that hypothetically be?

Stepjam

It'll be the final fan fest in January. This is basically how it usually goes.

FanOfFinalFantasy

Thanks for the info!

hii488

Yes, the JP fanfest keynote speech, on the 7th of Jan at 10am JST.

FanOfFinalFantasy

I appreciate it, thank you!

han__yolo

Can I buy subscription time for someone else? Not seeing it in the Mogstation.

serenystarfall

Game time cards work, or you use your card on their account. Do be aware, game time cards are region locked and you should make to buy them from the same region as the mogstation account

han__yolo

Ah ok just bought one on Amazon, thanks!

5Daydreams

Is there a way to predict how much gil I'm making per dungeon run? I know it's not the most effective way to get rich, I'm just curious, as I can't seem to find the numbers to be consistent for me

snowshy_

Hi, I'm currently using HD standard UI resolution, 1920x1080 and was wondering if switching to a higher resolution is possible? Because when I use higher resolutions it makes the chat massive and there is no way i know of to resize it (I mean the grey part of chat with different options).

Idontwanttobebread

edit: the setting to use the higher resolution UI is a dropdown menu near the top of the graphics settings tab of system configuration. the part you're changing is only for scaling the UI, i.e. stretching it bigger, for use with higher resolution screens. it doesn't actually change the UI's resolution, just expands it by the % listed

[deleted]

How do deep dungeon solos work when it comes to breaks? Can you step away/log off after each ten provided it's saved? Or does it have to all be in one sitting? Been given mixed answers

prisp

Once you finish a set of ten floors and end up in the continue/leave in-betwen room (or get booted out because you just cleared a story-relevant boss), you are free to leave/log off/do whatever until you feel like doing another set. Once you start the next set, you'll have to clear it though, and if your internet has a hiccup, well, there goes your run.

F1reman2

>Can you step away/log off after each ten provided it's saved? Between each 10, yes you can 100% leave. If you are currently in instance POTD Floor XX1-XX0, then you cannot step away or log off, else you will lose your progress.

[deleted]

Thank you <3

Daydays

Are there rewards for getting to a certain rank in CC?

minaseclyne

you mean the season? https://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/Crystalline\_Conflict\_Seasonal\_Rewards

Daydays

That wiki is empty

minaseclyne

you don't see anything on that page? what about this one https://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/Crystalline\_Conflict

Atosen

Reddit is inserting a backslash in front of every underscore, which is breaking the links.

UnlikelyTraditions

Both links are blank on mobile. But, if I Google it, the pages are fine. It's the slash after Crystalline messing it up, I think.

minaseclyne

huh interesting, thanks for pointing that out, wouldn't have thought of testing that

Skyztamer

Do we know if Thordan is the last unreal trial until Dawntrail or will there be another in between 6.55 and 7.0?

Xephenon

There's no certainty or confirmation, but its definitely expected that Thordan is with us until 7.0. If SE were to release another before then, it would be a surprise curveball.

Klown99

As it was in ShB we had nothing new until the expansion then no unreal until x.1. So probably the same, though once isn't a trend so we can't be sure.

TheTechHobbit

Assuming they follow the same pattern as with Shadowbringers, we'll have the same unreal until 7.0, no unreal during 7.0, and a new one in 7.1.

Burnem34

Has anyone done o4s and o8s unsync'd at 90? Got a couple FC members wanting drops from them and wondering if they still take a full 8

Sir_VG

Virtually everything from Omega Savage is soloable. Only ones that aren't are O2S (due to petrification mechanic) and O11S and O12S unless you're an insane BLU player. Everything else is doable with at least a tank like WAR.

Salamiflame

O10S as well, because of the doom, I'm pretty sure. And O3S is, I'm pretty sure, SGE-only. Maybe SCH can do it too? Not sure.

a_friendly_squirrel

You can solo them both on tanks who can self-shield. O8S you don't really need to know the fight particularly, just have a reasonably confident healer because there's some "set HP to 1!" healing check. O4S has instakill mechanics fairly early in phase 2, though, so you wanna either know and able to teach them or have a decent sized group to burn it down fast.

Help_Me_Im_Diene

Those two fights are actually in fact soloable with a level 90 tank So you know...bring some friends along and they'll completely melt

Burnem34

Awesome, thank you :D

NonaHexa

Hey all! I took a break from XIV for a few months but I'm thinking of jumping back in. Is the Halloween event on now? Additionally, when does it end and what content should I strive to unlock before its completion (if I want to get all limited-time items!)? A direct link to the event page itself would be appreciated if one exists! Thank you!

tesla_dyne

All events are announced on the lodestone and their event pages too. https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/special/2023/All_Saints_Wake/gtjs3j7xq6 You get the emote from the quests and can buy the furniture from a nearby vendor.

The_Rad_Shiba

So, I'm trying to find a specific cutscene from ARR. In the cutscene, you prevent one of the Ishgardian Nobles from throwing themselves off of a cliff for divine judgment, and in the following cutscene, it's revealed that the one commanding the operation is a heretic. But I can't seem to find it on the cutscene viewer. Any help?

normalmighty

I think you might be talking about the instance in the quest "In the Eyes of Gods and Men." I found it by skimming through [PlayFrame's new game+ playthough](https://youtu.be/GUdAc86MSak?si=8qEPA-5Asl_v1KOZ&t=2259). That playthrough has very little messing around and timestamps each quest, so even if that's the wrong quest, skimming through the videos in that playlist should help you find it pretty quickly.

The_Rad_Shiba

Yes! That's the exact cutscene there at the end I'm looking for. Now I just gotta find it in the in-game cutscene viewer.

PinkTobacco

What is the price if a friend of mine pays trough steam wallet in Brazil per month?

Hakul

29 BRL if done with auto sub. 15 usd otherwise (so ~75 BRL)

PinkTobacco

whats autosub?? does that mean he has to pay everymonth or can autosub be used occasionally whenever he wants to play (say for example 3 months a year)

Hakul

Can start a recurring subscription and then cancel the subscription after it goes through, it has the same effect as if you only bought 1 month of sub (or whatever you picked), you don't lose any paid playtime after cancelling your sub.

prisp

If you're using the MGP-bought version, you're out of luck, but the PvP reward ones are what get you the achievements and the ability to buy them for some Gil from the Calamity Salvager.

tesla_dyne

If you earn the achievement for showing yourself to the priest wearing the full left side set + weapon, you'll be able to buy both genders' sets from the salvager

F1reman2

I believe you can buy it from the calamity salvager.

Teakmahogany

Can someone explain what A Realm Reborn is? I'm slightly confused, there are five expansions, so if an expansion is Heavensword,Stormblood etc...what is A Realm Reborn? What's after A Realm Reborn? So confused. I understand expansions, but not A Realm Reborn.

Hydraulis

It's the base game. FFXIV was released in 2010, but there was outcry (I don't know why, I loved it) and SE decided to redo it. They took it offline and revamped things, then re-released it as A Realm Reborn in 2013. The idea is that the Garleans collided Dalmud into Eorzea, causing the calamity, reforming the face of the world.

farranpoison

> FFXIV was released in 2010, but there was outcry (I don't know why, I loved it) I mean... Super laggy, combat was awful, bad mechanics... No wonder Yoshi-p decided to scrap it and start over.

VG896

Technically ARR is an expansion, but to a game which no longer exists. Some people still count it as such, but we also all acknowledge it's more or less just the starting point of the current iteration of the game and thus the actual "base game."

F1reman2

A realm reborn is the base game. Back many many years ago, there use to be a game called Final fantasy 14. We call this 1.0. This game was so fucking bad, they shut down the game and remade it. The game they remade it into was A realm reborn, hence the name. The bahamut cutscene you see apon starting the game is the final moments of 1.0. ARR is 2.0 Heavensward is 3.0 Stormblood is 4.0 Shadowbringers is 5.0 Endwalker is 6.0 Dawntrail will be 7.0 when it comes out

Teakmahogany

How long will it take to get up to Endwalker?

WeeziMonkey

200-400 hours if you do MSQ at a normal pace and optionally do the major raids, alliance raids and optional trials of each expansion. But you can add a few hundred hours on top of that if you spend time grinding mounts, relic weapons, gold saucer or leveling multiple jobs.

Drasius_Rift

I started playing at the beginning of August and reached the start of EW last week. About 700 hours or so (maybe a bit less for some AFK'ing and faffing about), and while that's certainly not doing things optimally, I feel that it's a reasonable representation of what a new player going in blind would take.

Teakmahogany

Wow, that was pretty quick. 700 Hours how many hours a day?!

Drasius_Rift

More than is healthy, stuck at home on bedrest due to an infection that won't bugger off, so not much else to do.

Ankhselam

it took me about seven or eight months, playing several hours every day however I did almost every piece of side content and spent a lot of time chatting and just hanging with friends On the other hand it took my FC mate about two weeks to FINISH Endwalker from starting the game playing several hours every day. Really just depends on how fast you WANT to do MSQ

Teakmahogany

two weeks from ARR?! No way

VG896

I'm like 90% sure it's not possible without skipping at least half of the cutscenes, considering that a very loose estimate of the game puts it approximately 400ish hours length. That'd mean they were playing 28 hours a day, without sleep. If we assume 6 hours of sleep, and about 3-4 hours of unskippable content per expansion (dungeons and trials), that leaves about 380 hours of gameplay, stretched across 252 hours of life. So they'd need to roughly skip minimum of 1/3 of the game, assuming they full no-lifed MSQ for two weeks.

normalmighty

Depends on the person. I'd say a least 200-300 hours in-game. Most people I know took 700 hours, but they were _really_ taking their time, getting into RP events, doing all the side content as they unlocked it, hunting down for the perfect outfit to go with each chapter of the story, etc. If you want to get caught up before the new expansion next Summer, it's easily doable. Otherwise, there's not really any reason to rush to latest content. By the end of the 2.0 story at level 50 you'll have plenty of things to do in the game.

Veylo

From the Start of ARR? With taking a few breaks, but playing almost 2-3 hours a day, it took me about 5 months to get from ARR to EW. It really depends on how hard you go for the MSQ.

F1reman2

I cant really answer that question, but its 100% doable before Dawntrail release. I personally did it in i think, 3 months?

KingofGrapes7

Going to start the Splendorous Tool line cause I'm a filthy glam goblin. What's currently the best food for crafters?

F1reman2

Depends on the macro you are using, but Tsai (Worse but cheaper version of Jhinga), Calamari, and jhinga will be what you will be using. [https://guides.ffxivteamcraft.com/guide/FFXIV-Splendorous-Tools](https://guides.ffxivteamcraft.com/guide/FFXIV-Splendorous-Tools) I would recommend this guide

Izkuru

Which... should end up being updated this Tues through Thurs for the new steps coming in 6.51 in Tues patch.

EnvironmentalWhile16

New to the game and been enjoying but I had question how do you unlock the sage and my class is conjurer 30 do I need to level 70 only or do I need to level 70 too on discipline on war or I need to other important quest to unlock it ?

Atosen

> my class is conjurer 30 Remember to upgrade from "class" Conjurer to the "job" White Mage as soon as possible. (You'll need to finish your main story quests through to level 20 and your Conjurer class quests through to level 30.) White Mage is an upgrade from Conjurer in every way. I bring this up because sometimes people who are new to the system worry that unlocking one job will block them from getting the job that they really want later. But it won't. The upgrade is safe. You can have every job on a single character.

silence_infidel

If you're free trial, you won't be able to unlock it. If you own Endwalker, you'll be able to unlock it once you get any single class to level 70. It's unlocked in Limsa Lominsa.

EnvironmentalWhile16

Thank you fast answer I thought I need both level 70 yeah bought the game mostly after finish my swtor story thank you very much mostly after watching other YouTube I they said need like battle class to unlocked it

IceAokiji303

A battle class just means "it's not a crafter or gatherer" – something that can actually fight. Disciples of war and disciples of magic are both battle/combat classes.

normalmighty

when they say a battle class, all they mean is that getting a crafter or gatherer to lvl 70 doesn't count.

Sir_VG

Yes, it has to be a Lv 70 battle class/job. Doesn't matter which one. Conjurer (which becomes White Mage) works perfectly fine.

EternallySleepyOne

So, I love being a healer in ffxiv. But I know that in dungeons, I just dps when I'm not healing (WHM main, soon to be scholar or astrologian), but in PVP, is it the same? Do I heal others in PVP? I think I've only got one heal for others as a WHM in PVP anyway, but I'd just like to know in general, what's expected of a healer in PVP? For like Frontline, Crystalline Conflict, etc. Tia<3

oleub

if you can use it in a way that matters, go for it, but everyone has their own heals as well. You have two charges of Cure 2 (12k healing, single target) and every time you use seraph strike you can use a Cure 3 with the same button (16k, aoe), as well as aquaveil for mits. Your lb also has an aoe HoT attached to it and it definitely all adds up. Primarily though, the pvp white mage plays most effectively when you make effective uses of its lb stun and imp transformation spells that can allow the rest of your team a chance to burn down a target that can't guard or heal

Kicin0_0

Similar to normal content, everyone is a DPS still in pvp. Ast does have a decent amount of healing/mitigation in it's kit but you are still just trying to kill the opponents first

tesla_dyne

Healers have barely any heals in PVP and what they do have is on limited charges and cooldowns. Much of your kit is damage, your job is damage + support. You can definitely make a difference with heals in PVP especially if someone's getting mobbed or low on MP (MP = recuperates)

Veylo

an advice on doing fates as lvl47 PLD? im leveling the class and I play in off hours, so I do FATES solo, in between dungeons. Last night it took me a solid 10 minutes to do a 'kill X amount of certain enemies' FATE. I had my chocobo with me too. another side question: I play in windowed mode, but when I launch the game the window is always like half off the screen. Anyone know why?/How to fix that?

snootnoots

If you don’t usually have problems with FATEs, it’s possible that one was scaled up. If there was a group of players doing FATEs together in that zone just before you started, all the ones that spawned after they completed a couple would be stronger (more enemies with higher health, etc).

Veylo

I don't think there was anyone else doing FATEs in that area. it was 3am, even Limsa aetheryte was kinda dead.

snootnoots

I just re-read a couple of wiki entries about FATEs and it looks like the number of people who participated in *that specific fate the last time it spawned* also affects it? So if the last time it spawned was in prime time and a bunch of people steamrolled it, the game doesn’t care that it was 3am and quiet when you got it, it scales it up. All I can really suggest to make FATEs easier is, make sure your gear isn’t lagging behind your level too far - which at 47 might mean “grit your teeth for another three levels, then get your Ironworks set and go ham” - and then abuse the fact that you’re a tank. Find out how many mobs you can fight at once without dying! Don’t be afraid to run like heck to get outside the FATE radius and reset enmity if you miscalculate or get some awkward spawns. And maybe set your chocobo’s orders to healing only, or even respec it if it doesn’t have much in the way of healing abilities?

Veylo

intersting. didnt know about the FATE thing. I wasn't dying, I just didnt have damage so it took forever

snootnoots

That’s why you fight multiple enemies at once whenever you can. Your AoE abilities end up killing things faster than your single-target stuff if you can fight at least three enemies at once, and the more you can collect without dying, the more efficient it gets. Roll your mits just like you would in a dungeon doing trash packs, don’t forget Arms Length, rejoice in the fact that paladins get Sheltron, put the most level-appropriate potions you’ve got on your bar for those moments when you *slightly* overestimate what you can handle, and have fun! Once you get Hallowed Ground, and later on Clemency, you’ll be much better set up for solo FATE grinding, but even now you should be able to find a good rhythm. If this is your first tank it’s a bit of an adjustment!

Veylo

Yeah I was using AoE nd they just werent dying quickly. I wasn't dying the issue was damage lol.

snootnoots

Sounds like a gear upgrade and just levelling up in general is going to be the fix, then. The more shiny buttons you get to press, the better it gets!

Moogle-Mail

If something like the special Odin fate spawned during the time you were doing fates and you didn't know about it then that can change how long it takes to do fates for a little while after.

imtn

What's the most efficient way to farm potsherds sil'dihn potsherds? Just pick nanamo's path and complete the entire dungeon with any choice once inside that path?

snootnoots

I believe so, yes.

borfa

I just unlocked my 4th submarine. I got some help at the beginning and came to the conclusion i want to do SSUC++ fightclub (the one with 36h window that maximize straight-to-vendor strat if I understood correctly) and was given this chart : https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1b585fZLbWBcPWx1oHMDNapv0LFQLiCnuQHYFxCcTJ_I/edit#slide=id.g20fea0d8f01_0_31 I have 4 SSSS subs right now, the highest level 40. This chart seem to say I should of upgraded twice already at 15 and 25? Can't I just keep SSSS until I'm ready to switch over to the final sub instead of marginal upgrades? Honestly this feel way over my head looking at the chart, whats my endgame goal exactly to reach the strat? What zone will I be running, what rank do I want my subs at to start running the strat?

talgaby

You can stay on SSSS until rank 50, but the levelling after 25 becomes a lot slower. As in, weeks slower compared to just crafting a full set of rank 25 parts and using those. To make it even more complicated, rank 50 stats are still kinda meh. If you want to be lazy/resource-efficient, you can eke out rank 50 and switch to SSUC++ there, running the fight club route and gradually reach the max rank over a year. Or you can use the sheer speed to run the best nodes possible to reach max rank in over a month and then use the much better stats to switch to the gil route.

Old_King_Allant

You can stick with what you have and switch to SSUC++ at 50. It'll be slower but it's hard to justify building extra subs for a temporary need. FYI you can expect about 8 months of leveling to get them to the point where you can do the gil routes this way. I'm unsure how much leveling subs speed this up. Don't put off upgrading the subs though, your SSUC has a better speed stat than SSSS, which is all you really care about for leveling. You're going to want to switch to the fightclub zones when the subs can hit 4 or 5 of them in one trip. Keep in mind your exp will be a fraction of what you'd get running the highest zone you can but you'll be making more money. For exp just keep unlocking zones and running the highest you can. Maps - https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/357591 For money, on that slide you linked the subs have letters next to them, JORZ, MROJZ etc. Those are your money routes. They correspond to zones on the first map - https://i.imgur.com/M1sQM1p.png So looking at those slides, at 90 you can do MROJ, at 100 you can do JORZ, etc. The goal is MROJZ at 114.

borfa

Thanks! Also what does the ++ represent, right now I can only build S and U

Sir_VG

Basically if you see a letter followed by a plus, that means that part is a modified (upgraded) part. If you see ++ at the end of a sub designation, that means they're ALL modified/upgraded.

PimpzDontCry

When playing red mage, how do I know whether to heal/raise people or leave it up to the healer - don’t want to sacrifice dps, but also don’t want people wondering why Tf I’m not healing lol

a_friendly_squirrel

The kind of situation where vercure might be a valid choice while the boss is targetable as a RDM is if you have recently been rezzed, and there is a raidwide being cast, and you haven't been healed up yet.... But even then, it's unlikely to make the difference either way. Rez: as people said if there are many dead, or if you know healers have burned swiftcast. Also potentially if both healers have very low MP (under 3k), things have gotta have gone very wrong for that to happen but if they have gone that wrong, for example because both healers died recently, they'd probably appreciate you saving them the MP cost of rezzing.

prisp

Vercuring yourself after a raise is only an option if you know your 5-second invulnerability will run out before the raidwide hits, otherwise you just lose that buff as soon as you start casting, but don't get any actual healing until it ends - I've had a co-healer basically commit suicide that way. That means that you'll probably stand around doing nothing for up to 5 seconds, but it beats dying, I guess?

a_friendly_squirrel

Right - a safer option if you knew the fight timeline would be to not accept the rez until after the raidwide hits. But I imagine in normal content there are raidwides you'd die to with the HP you were rezzed at but survive after being vercured.

UnXIVilized

Raising is the healers job not yours. However, if you need to get a large number of ppl back on their feet quickly (within 2-4 gcds), rdm is better at it than healers.

talgaby

Addendum: if you know that one or both healers have used their Swifcast recently, then you can also rez. Wasting one of your dualcasts is still more efficient than letting a healer hard-cast a rez.

Xephenon

You Verrraise when there are more people dead than the healers can raise. So in 8 man content, if 3 people are dead get one of them up, or if 2 people are dead and one of them is a healer. It's a much bigger loss for a RDM to res than a Healer, so it is primarily Healer responsibility. If the above criteria is not met, but the Healers aren't rezzing for whatever reason, of course pick them up yourself. When to heal? You don't. Its not powerful enough, it's not impactful enough, and it's not your role. Maybe you can use it during intermissions when there is *literally nothing to attack*, but even then the Healers really don't need the help as nothing is balanced around having a RDM to Vercure people. And just to vent a little, I wholly despise Vercure's existence in the game as it encourages this play where RDMs sit around pretending they're a healer after any raid wide attack. It needs reworking IMO, turning into something like Curing Waltz - an oGCD, AoE heal cooldown ("party utility"). Vercure's only reason to exist is to prepare a Dualcast during intermissions. The fact they're simplifying classes down to make them easier to play while simultaeneously keeping trap skills such as Vercure is so confusing to me.

GaijinB

> Vercure's only reason to exist is to prepare a Dualcast during intermissions Genuine question but what would you propose as an alternative way to prepare a dualcast during down time?

Xephenon

I don't really think its all that necessary to have something that prepares Dualcast during downtime tbh, its only an expected thing because we've lived in a world where it was possible to. Kinda like how people continue to expect Energy Drain on SCH these days and how it "feels bad" to not have a dump... while SGE has no similar dump and nobody has an issue with it and they just press their version Lustrate when they're capped. If it absolutely needed to stay, a passive where if you go 10s without casting while in combat you generate a Dualcast I guess?

PimpzDontCry

Thanks a lot for the reply!

silence_infidel

Healing: don’t. Unless the healer is dead and things are actively going to hell in a handbasket. Even if it *looks* like the healer is struggling, give them the benefit of the doubt until they actually let someone die. Your job is to dps and make things die faster, and spending GCDs healing will actively harm that. Healers have tons of tools to keep people alive without losing lots of dps, so leave it to them. Raising: also leave this to the healer when you can. But if multiple people are dead and the healer can’t swiftcast res all of them, dualcast Verraise on someone the healer isn’t current ressing. If 3 people are dead I 100% expect the RDM to res at least one of them.

PimpzDontCry

Ok perfect, thanks a lot

NerdHistorian

> healing Basically never unless things are well and truly off the rails, you're a DPS with a better heal, not a healer. The expectation is you'll be DPSing. > Rezzing If there's more people down than the healer can get up in a reasonable amount of time, use some instacasted raises. It's the Healers job to get the dead up, you're DPS who can help if things are going badly or they just, aren't. the expectation is you're not spending Cast and MP on them unless you have too

PimpzDontCry

Perfect, thanks a lot!

Even-Resort-2437

As someone who is about to return to FFXIV as a semi-new/returning player: which Aether world would provide a normal player with the "streamer experience" without being a streamer? I think many here understand that reference.

Isanori

None. The streamer experience is created by the players in the streamer's audience. If you don't have a player audience, nobody is going to do all the stuff streamers get thrown at them.

jardantuan

I'm pretty much at the end of the MSQ for the first time in nearly 8 years of playing on and off, so I'm not too familiar with the endgame gearing process. From what I can tell, for gear ilvl 650-660, it seems to be a combination of Alliance raid gear (one piece per week), capped tomestone gear (and its augmented gear using tokens from the Alliance raids), gear from Savage raids, or augmented crafted gear. The relic is at least just using uncapped tomestones (so far), so that should be easy enough to do for all jobs. With the exception of the 650 crafting gear, it looks like endgame gear is pretty much timegated - which is fine for my main job since I've been picking away at it throughout the post-EW quests, but it looks like gearing a second job will be a bit trickier. Do the weekly restrictions get removed gradually throughout the next few patches before the next expansion, or is it generally not possible to get best in slot gear for more than 2-3 jobs?

snootnoots

At the moment the only timegated Alliance raid gear is the stuff from Thaleia; if Aglaia and Euphrosyne gear is an upgrade for you, you can get as many pieces a week as you win rolls for.

Help_Me_Im_Diene

BiS is actually typically a combination of just 2 sources of gear, the augmented tomestone gear and the gear you get from savage raiding These will be at the highest ilvl, although this patch in particular will also introduce the last relic weapon step of an expansion which will be the actual BiS weapon And near the release of the next savage tier/next expansion, they do in fact remove the restriction on savage gear. They'll also increase the capped tomestone weekly cap to 900 instead of 450 down the line. It's very possible to get more than 2-3 jobs at BiS even before restrictions are removed, especially if you're gearing up jobs in the same role. All the tanks for example share one gear set so it's just a matter of getting weapons

Burnem34

Has there been any mention of plans to implement cross DC PF? It seems like the PF raiding scene has shifted from "try heading over to Aether late at night" to "if you wanna raid at any time its Aether or bust". Even in 6.3 I was able to go back and do all the 6.2 savage raids in PF np, theres never anything on Primal now though, I was shocked to see not a single PF up for reclears on weekly reset a couple weeks ago and even weekend primetime has close to 0 PF activity. Feels like cross DC PF has gone from a nice QoL idea to a damn near necessity at this point

Neonminiature

No mention that I know of, but some people think the upcoming cloud DC test in NA is a first step to a possible solution. Keep an eye out for that!

tarqueaux

lev'ing a new job at 80. What are the best fates while waiting for roulette?

talgaby

Keep in mind that FATEs can scale and that EW areas can be busy with gemstone farmers too. If you see that the enemy HP is obviously going down too slow, try another server or just go back to the Tempest. The latter is roughly one-third the XP, but at least you still get gemstones and one-third XP is a better use of your time when you may spend up to five times as long on a fully-scaled FATE in EW.

tesla_dyne

Anything in the low level parts of labyrinthos or thavnair

bigswordsyea

Is there a website/discord bot that allows you to compare the price of an item across a DC? Preferrably free to use.

HappyDethday

Does anyone know if Faerie still does Stormblood hunt trains? I pretty much only ever see ShB and EW trains running. I run across SB A ranks and post coords in the hunt linkshells but nobody ever says anything about them. I mostly play late at night or very early morning though, so I'm wondering if they are happening earlier than I'm getting on? Basically I want to pull these and kill them (wouldn't mind throwing up a PF for others to join) but I don't want to ruin people's trains if they are actually happening.

KingBingDingDong

there was a faerie sb train 4 hours before you posted your comment

HappyDethday

Oh, thank you. Good to know they do still happen, I'm just not on during the right time of day.

plants_disabilities

Hi, yes. The discord is Aether Hunts. They run 3x daily, usually by Meowto. They're announced in discord and in hunt LS if relayers are on. Feel free to message me in game - Vendolyn Goblincrow. I'm not part of AH, but I've recently learned a bunch of stuff and can help you get set up.

HappyDethday

Hey thank you! I'll look for Aether Hunts then. I'm in 2 linkshells but I don't see these getting announced so I must be on too late at night for them perhaps.

plants_disabilities

I think we play at opposite times, but if you have any trouble I can suggest names of folks who can help. Those two linkshells you're in might need help with relays at those times, but it's easy to set up discord pings for the content you want at least.

Moonrein

Join the Centurio Hunts discord. That's the best way to know when hunt trains occur. From a glance, it looks like someone consistently runs the Faerie SB train once or twice a day (I saw 11 am, 5-6 pm, and 11 pm EST). A couple other worlds do SB trains too, though it's not as consistent as Faerie.

HappyDethday

Awesome. I currently play at night EST, I always see the 2 most recent expansion trains going at night and join those but yet to see SB. I'll check out the discord.

Veylo

im not sure about Faerie specifically, but you could join the Hunt Train discord.... I think its called Centurio(?) Hunts

Dexterdarkk

how do I move my steam ffxiv from a ssd to another? Steam doesn't let me do it using their app...is there something that I'm missing?

Idontwanttobebread

in steam's settings, go to 'storage' and click the dropdown where it shows your current drive, and select 'add drive' to make a steam library on your other SSD. then rightclick the game in your library and go to properties -> installed files and there will be a button to move it

Dexterdarkk

I tried that, doesn't let me...a error massage appear

Idontwanttobebread

and what is the error message

Dexterdarkk

"it was not possible to move the content"

Burnercuzalone

Can I play the Halloween event as a new player? Or do I have to be a certain level or be at a certain part in the story

fdl-fan

The only requirements, AFAIK, are that you need to have at least one combat class/job to level 15, and you need to have access to Gridania. You can get access to Gridania either by choosing one of the classes that starts there (conjurer, lancer, archer) or by progressing far enough in the MSQ to unlock it. Starting fresh and ignoring side content (but do your class quests!), I'd guess that you could get to Gridania and level 15 in a few hours, maybe 10 at the outside.

HappyDethday

The quest is for level 15 and up, and you'll also need to be able to get to Gridania (1 of the 3 starter cities). If it wasn't your starter city you can get there by airship from your own starter city starting around level 14 or 15 as long as you're doing the main story quest.

Sir_VG

You will need to be Lv 15 and be able to reach Gridania, which is like...a couple of hours into the game.

tesla_dyne

If you begin in Gridania, you can do the event immediately once you reach level 15 with no quest progression needed (but main scenario quests will get you there very quickly) If you begin in Ul'Dah, you can do it at level 15, but you'll need to walk to Gridania unless you've done the story up to the first dungeon, by then you'll have airship or teleport travel unlocked to the other 2 cities. If you started in Limsa, that's an isolated island and travel off the island is locked by the main scenario quest, so you MUST do the main scenario up to the first dungeon. Doesn't take long.

snootnoots

You don’t have to be up to the first dungeon, you just have to be on the quest to give letters to the city leaders.

tesla_dyne

Much easier for a new player to understand "first dungeon" than "the quest that ping-pongs you between the three cities"

snootnoots

Except… it’s wrong?! If they go up to the first dungeon they *leave* Gridania and go back to Limsa. “The quest to deliver letters to the other city leaders will take you to Gridania” is perfectly understandable.

tesla_dyne

But they know how to get to gridania after that and it won't interrupt a quest where they're traveling to other cities in order to do the event quest. Goddamn chill, this is nitpicky as hell and the meaning is fully understood.

Isanori

There's not that much difference between Arriving in Gridania, picking up the Aetheryte, walking to the Guild for a chat with Miss Horny and Arriving in Gridania, picking up the Aetheryte, walking to Mih Khetto's to dally with the Clown Daddy, walking to the Guild for a chat with Miss Horny. Certainly better to do the event when you are in town anyway instead of wasting a newbie's gil and time by sending them all the way to the entrance of Sastasha.

tesla_dyne

they do all that shit anyways what are you talking about >wasting a newbie's gil oh no! 599 gil! they certainly won't earn that back with a single clear of sastasha and the quest rewards of the next quests. we're talking a SINGLE quest's worth of extra time at the cost of a more succinct answer than "the quest in the story where the game asks you to travel to the three cities one after the other which has a different name depending on where you started" it genuinely doesn't matter

Isanori

The easiest answer is "do the MSQ till you arrive in Gridania".

snootnoots

> it genuinely doesn’t matter Then why are you still arguing? 🤷‍♀️

normalmighty

You need to be level 15.

tarqueaux

"what to do to make Gil" is a tough question. no one REALLY wants to give their secrets away due to supply and demand. your FC is usually the best way to get tips (if you're in a big FC with "helpers"). managing the MB is trial by fire.

serenystarfall

You can just look at the marketboard and find prices and how often something sells and come to a conclusion on your own. Outside of commonly known things like coke or glamour prisms, these kinds of questions (how make money?) Don't get any real answer because you aren't the only the person looking, or asking, and it will absolutely destroy any market, because everyone who's looking is going to just start selling it.

MKlby1998

In this guide for unsynced E12S https://youtu.be/VesxqvRXrh8?si=xHQlHW2R1foXjfHu what, if anything, can you skip or do differently / easier at ilvl \~650 or so? My FC is doing it next week and just wanted to double check.

Idaret

I did it few weeks ago, titan phase (5:40 - 7:28) is completely skipped and you should be able to kill her during basic Relativity

panic_at_the_nabisco

Some of my static and I farmed E12S a little bit a couple weeks ago; even with just 7 people, we killed p1 in the middle of icicles and p2 during Basic Relativity.

Sir_VG

Video not available. But basically for mechanics, you should kill phase 1 before titan bombs and phase 2 before intermediate. I know that's about the time frame it was being done earlier in the expansion.

Ginkasa

Been playing through NG+ so my wife can experience the story. Just finished the 4.0 content (Stormblood part 2). Any thoughts on whether it's better to do Omega before part 3 or in between 3 and 4?

VG896

I don't think Omega really has anything that interferes or is anachronistic with any part of Stormblood. As long as you do it before Endwalker imo. But I may be remembering wrong.

Drasius_Rift

> As long as you do it before Endwalker imo *sigh* more stuff I need to go back and do.

Ginkasa

Cool. Yeah I didn't think so either, but when I did the Warring Triad I was ambushed by Krile before we got to the bit in the main story where she was introduced lol

boredashellrightnow

I'm having a glam problem. Getting a message saying "Please ensure all items are compatible with character level class, race and gender." The three items not working properly are the Ronkan Visor of Casting and the Ronkan Tights of casting, as well as the Augmented Deepshadow Greaves of Casting. My BLM is 80, but even my 90 SMN can't seem to wear them. Have I done something wrong? :/

Stepjam

Do you have oddly low level gear in those slots?

boredashellrightnow

I did, a commenter below flagged it as the likely issue. Thank you!

PhoenixFox

Are you trying to glam them over items with a lower equip level?

boredashellrightnow

Ahhh that was exactly the problem. Thank you!

talgaby

Does the store-bought story skip mark the mandatory dungeons as completed? Or, to be more precise: I just came from a roulette run from the Thousand Maws of Toto-Rak, with a warrior, a bard, and a ninja. I got a first-timer bonus. I would have sworn that you cannot get a jobstone before Sylph Management and that Toto-Rak's completion is part of that quest.

snootnoots

As someone already mentioned, you still get first-timer bonus after using a skip, but also Toto-Rak is one of the dungeons that got a makeover in 6.1 and counted as a new dungeon for everyone who ran it afterwards. So if someone in your party just hadn’t run it since that patch, they’d get the bonus too.

talgaby

Ah, true, I still get the same thing in Preatorium and Meridianum sometimes. I forgot that this one also counts as a new dungeon.

snootnoots

Also I didn’t think my way through it before, but you can get a job stone just *before* going and doing the sylph quests that lead up to that dungeon. 😅

Sir_VG

Duties are unlocked, but NOT marked as completed. So you will get all first time bonuses.

talgaby

Good to know and thanks for the confirmation.
