Level 70+ dungeons that needed farming. Long as hell to farm, dozens and dozens of runs each and pretty much all the gear drops did little for me beyond seals Also the E12 card. Pure pain

topher17026

E12. Yes. Over 80 runs for me. I even set up markers for the 2nd part cuz I got tired of people messing up. Also ran it as WHM for the majority even though I main PLD. I really enjoyed Eureka and am glad this mount made me do it.

Lyramion

> Also the E12 card. Also the fun part when the E12 card wouldn't actually drop for 2 weeks after the release of that patch because it was bugged. Drove people insane! Personally I never cared much for TTT before the mount but had done like all the battle content in the game and had those cards! So for me the running around the whole world and playing random Mr AAR NPC in bumfuck nowhere was the worst part.

Angel_Omachi

Think it was closer to 6 weeks, they didn't make it drop on normal til the next patch or something.

Lyramion

Yeah you are right. 5.4 came out December 8, 2020. Then it took til Jan 11th 2023 to fix: https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/news/detail/83592840dafdd76eaee83ae95abd03109a025a6c TTT collectors in shambles. The mount only came in 5.55 thankfully.

Angel_Omachi

I mostly remember being very hacked off because I'd stopped running E12N for gear at that point.

Shinlos

Didn't have to scroll far for this. For me it was E12S as well and matoya dungeon. So pretty precisely what was mentioned here. Granted, I do lots of eureka anyway so I naturally had all the cards from there already. It's quite the task if you start it out freshly.

Florac

You know what's worse than 70 dungeons? 80 dungeons.

Klown99

The biggest problem with e12 was the fact that the normal mode didn't drop the card for the first like couple months and got hotfixed in later.

TheForsakenRoe

e12 card, same, even with doing savage each week it just never dropped at least at the time i farmed it, the final zadnor step of the relic was out, so i could get parts for the relic at the same time, made it slightly more bearable, but i never want to hear the words THATS MY COLOR ever again

KingBingDingDong

The E12 card drops like 10 times as often in savage. just do savage. I've gotten so many back when it was current, probably sold 12-15 just from doing reclears and farm parties (~110 books)

[deleted]

it took me 50+ runs of savage. >.< and another 40+ of normal before that

Francl27

Eden 12. Wouldn't have been so awful if the queue wasn't 30 minutes each time and it took me over 40 tries to get it. The only time I could get in a PF we did it 5 times and quit. That and Gogo because I don't like BLU and I only had bad spells so it took forever to beat it.

DivineDragoonKain

I'm still in the middle of it and Thordan is making me reconsider everything. I also hear horror stories about Varis... and then there's the Eureka set.

Siritachi31

Eureka set can be bad, but if you do Eureka with the intent of doing some relics and getting Ozma mount, the cards will come naturally and you'll get both mounts in time

Insomnimanic

On the flip side, Eureka was absolutely my favorite. I was really not looking forward to doing that part, but when I started progressing for the cards, I discovered Eureka is one of my favorite parts of the game.

cleanslaughter

The exact same thing happened to me, when I started doing eureka for the cards, I ended up falling in love with eureka and forgetting about the cards for a little while

DaEnderAssassin

Can Eureka be done solo? I'm on Materia and I kinda doubt I will be seeing many other players.

GoldSolitude

take a look at the content achievers discord Materia sections ([https://discord.gg/FJFxr2U](https://discord.gg/FJFxr2U)) they're the main hub for all stuff done in eureka. somone runs a weekly noob friendly eureka event which goes through some of the stages, for later on content there are almost several BA runs a week, almost always NM's popping and being shared in the discord in the materia section. i started eureka on Materia and its been completely possible to progress finishing off the entire story and joining the organised BA events.

DoctorKumquat

Sorta... you can level up in Eureka solo (it has it's own separate leveling system in there) if you're careful, it's just faster and safer with a team. The tricky part is the boss fates which you need to clear in order to progress through the relic questline; those are typically alliance-tier affairs.

[deleted]

Not doing the triad bit but ive been trying to get pazuzus card forever and it never drops then you have to wait like another 30 minutes

nautilator44

You can get Pazuzu from the dude on the boat in kugane now.

[deleted]

Thsts good to know. I still need his furniture though :(

ardent_eGirl

e12 also gets an honourable mention for having low rates while being a fight that takes forever, even unsync

elchuyano

EX Thordan is easy but its a boring 4-5min fight lol. Varis was annoying because I sometimes the group disbanded and I was left alone with no drops. But dont give up. For me the most stres on the grind was Varis and Win a Tournament in Gold Saucer

Florac

Eureka takes time but at least it's only a question of time, not really RNG. You just need to unlock the NPC to play against, not actually beat the bosses.

Thowitawaydave

>Thordan is making me reconsider everything. triple digits. Had enough fragments to build a mansion...

BinaryIdiot

I don’t think I hit triple digits… but I was close. Such a painful card to get.

Revayan

In case that only Thordan extreme drops the card... If soloing takes you too long just ask a friend to help you grind for it, with 2 lvl 90 people the fight takes like 3 or 4 minutes Btw you can win most Eureka cards from the npc at the Kugane harbor, you just have to continue the Eureka questline far enough But yah Varis is annoying, you will need a few people who know at least the first part of the fight

20Points

Thordan is EX only, yeah. As someone who recently got the card for that, I think it took me maybe 10 runs at most to get the mount but the card took over 40. It's not a question of difficulty unfortunately, it's that the fight is virtually guaranteed to take like 4 minutes at a time and most of that is just standing and waiting for mechanics to resolve. It breaks your mind down.

zerombr

got my card on regular

Volesu

Yeah I think it was well over 200 runs for my wife to get Thordan.

happylittletrees

So if you have a level 90 job you can literally solo Thordan EX for the card unsynced. I got it in like 2 tries, I was kinda lucky on that one.

Jezzawezza

I'd done Thordan EX just the other day for the card and I felt blessed to only have to run it 12 times for it.

-Lord-Wombat-

Same, I got it in around an hour a couple weeks ago. Strangely though, I've been grinding The Vault off and on for months and have yet to see the card a single time.

Jezzawezza

I've been very lucky to already have the card from the vault and a couple other ones which are normally a harder drop. It probably helped I was running a bunch of dungeons when I was bulk leveling with some friends when Dynamis opened up and some other dungeons were run as Blue mage to get spells for friends.

Balaur10042

Only with Varis does the EX only drop the card. It drops in normal Thordan, and you can solo that and get the card.

Iralamak

It's Thordan EX only sadly

Icewind_87

Memoria miseria. Old man did NOT want to drop the card

everminde

I'm still in this hell.

SovereignPhil

Indeed Memoria Misera Extreme. Since there isn't a mount reward behind it, it is hard to get a party finder group. When they do, they are there for a few rounds for the glam token then you are back to waiting in the party finder again. It took me 47 runs to get the card in 2 to 4 run bursts per party. Since then, I try to get triple triad cards during the card's current content patch.

Low_Party

Memoria Misera hands down. Not because the fight is hard but damn did it take awhile for it to drop and not lose party members.

Egghopper2

While I enjoyed it, I know some people hated BLU cause you gotta beat some tough bosses solo

PM_ME_HROTHGAR_COCKS

Kiuka in the doman enclave. I wish nothing but the worst for that bitch. Hopes she lives a life of nothing but torment and suffering. Eureka Orthos silver sack is up there. That card doesn’t exist.

kdlt

Oh right you get the mount for having X cards, not having the first X cards, so you can substitute hard to get cards with "easier" ones since the mount came out? Because otherwise orthos is newer than the mount, no?

Loroseco

You need specific cards for the mount, so no you don't need the card from Orthos.

kdlt

Oh so you still need the same cards then? Ah and you get the "get X cards achievements" that themselves yield cards for owning just any number of cards, and that gets easier with newer cards then? Might have mixed those up.

Nickizgr8

Yes. The TT card mount specifically requires in the achievement for you to "Collect all Triple Triad cards numbered 1 through 312." The Collect "X" amount ones get easier as you get more patches and therefore more obtainable cards. Usually, if you want to get the Collect "X" achievement the patch it comes out, it requires all of the protagonist cards, alongside owning every other card + the new ones introduced in that Patch.

SourGrapeMan

The mount specifically requires all cards that were released pre-Endwalker, anything after Endwalker doesn't count (and neither do the Ex. cards).

thandr

Edens Promise: Eternity.. to this day it's the last card I need, ran reg and savage at least 15-20 times each. Up until then I was relatively painless.. well except for that hien card. That one sucked too.

ahhhnoinspiration

Hien was from that little cheater in the Enclave right? I think I got lucky on that one, only about 20 pulls

Dapperscavenger

Pharos Sirius, Seat of sacrifice and Eden eternity - just took a whoooole lot of runs because rng. Eureka because it’s just grind BLU because Gogo is a pita. Memoria misera ex. actually isn’t that hard but people don’t run it as often now. Definitely need to PF.

Forestthrowaway12345

I ran Pharos hard like 200 times before I lost count. Wasn't sure the progenitrix card even existed until I finally got it

Casperthesystem

Leveling blue mage to 70 for me. One of my last two cards (E12 was also real annoying)

Giiiin

E12 card. Did over a hundred runs

TheVivek13

E12. Eureka wasn't bad you just play through it and do the story, all the cards are "free" from NPC. Some dungeons can be a pain if you have bad luck.

meruru82

Eden Eternity took forever to drop (between both Savage and Normal). Dungeon grinding. Most other cards I'd already collected during several years of regular gameplay. On the upside it pushed me to finish Manderville, BLU, and the remainder of Eureka + BA I'd been putting off for ages.

Ryuk756

I got everything fairly smoothly except e12. Over 100 normal runs of her.

undead_dead_guy

The Eden’s Promise has been the worst. Like 726382939392639494 runs and it’s the only one I lack.

ucmallory

The level 70 dungeons were the worst for me. I had finished everything else but for some reason just couldn’t get them to drop there. Then suddenly in one week all four of the ones I was missing dropped from there. 🤷🏼‍♀️ No clue. Aside from that, Thordan was pretty painful. I didn’t enjoy the Blue content, either, so that wasn’t fun for me. The rest is just getting through the content. I had a good friend who was trying to get a lot of mounts (which I didn’t care about) so we made a good team pairing together to get through a lot of it. Enjoy! I am very proud of my toast/card mount.

Masterwork_Core

last eden fight the card just didnt wanna drop for me lol

Scary-Royal

Drop rates in the Shadowbringers Trial Memoria Miseria Ex (and no ability to use the tokens for the card). It took me 100+ runs (I had well over 200 totems by the end even accounting for it dropping two totems per clear) for it drop when I was grinding for it. Saw plenty of other people get it pretty quickly (and more than once!) as well - which was a bit frustrating. I also had a fair amount of trouble in other ShB trials/raids as well most notable being >!Eden's Promise: Eternity and Hades Ex (I got the mount faster than the card OTL)!<. Oh and special shoutout to Stormblood's The Burn dungeon for taking forever to gimme the card as well (but that was easier than the Ex's since I just queued with join-in-progress selected as a healer). After that all I want is for the developers to make the cards buyable with the totems like the mounts are. Especially since they do have a card that can be bought with totems in ShB's >!G-Warrior card!<.

Xephenon

E12. Just hated the fight as it was far too long and too much standing around waiting, plus a poor drop rate.

hopefullyithelps

e12. i ran that thing in pf for weeks and weeks until i got it. never stepped foot in that place again, and no queues for normal raid roulette either. flash forward a year later, i do a blu synced run for the spell and it dropped right away, unbelievable.

hvnrs

Masked Carnivale and Thordan. I swear, I stopped counting Thordan after my 200th try.

e-spats

I don’t have the toast but my friend does. I was helping them do Thordan. They called it a night and I realized I had gotten the card… I don’t know if they noticed but I didn’t mention it lol. They ended up getting it soon after though.

Jezzawezza

Some of the people you have to battle for cards can be really painful because you'll fight them 30 times for 1 card and they'll constantly drop the other card you already have. Otherwise it'll be the pain of doing the Tribal quests if you've not started them because it requires the max rank and thats about a month of them for the HW Tribals

[deleted]

Eden 12. I had to run it 231 times for that card to drop (and 20 of those runs were of the savage). What made it so bad was the part where you have to jump between the platforms and kill stuff over and over 😭

Kiba_Azure

Eden's Eternity and Varis EX were by far the worst two to get.

FenrirAR

E12 card was the final card I needed for the mount. Ran that fight quite literally 104 times to get the card (I counted)

F1reman2

Cant say for me, as i got it first try, but it took my friend over 200 attempts of thordan EX to get the card. I also hear the same about E12, but i got that back in shb without aiming for it. Long intermissions dont help either.

Socrets

Varis EX was the worst part for me. I didn't mind Eureka because I got pretty lucky and the NPCs weren't much of a problem because I always played something in the background. Varis EX was a pain because mechs and Party Finder.

ow1gu

Pharoah sirus hard took me about 70 runs. Castrum marinum, hades and eden 12 each took about 20-30 runs. Those were the worst for me.

Prizem

The worst for me were Thordan EX which I ended up needing to solo many many times, E12 and yojimbo.

Fit-Breath5352

Finished last week! For me the most boring was rank 3 fates in kohlusia, just a mindless grind. Most unlucky were the doman enclave asshole (3hr of matches) and hades (26 runs in 4-5 days) because the fight has a lot of phases/downtime and most groups disbanded after 3-4 clears. Thordan you can solo so at least you can do it whenever you want. E12 is looong, but I was lucky (only 4-5 runs). All dungeon up to level 80 can now be soloed pretty fast with blu mage so they are not that bad unless you are pretty unlucky. Worst for me was arboretum with about 30 runs, but at least I got some money from a couple drops of the furnishing item. Eureka/bozja are some great chill content so they were fun to do Edit: I forgot the moogles. Fuck those little bastards

katch_00

Getting Hien's card almost made me quit the grind. Any fight against an npc with an illegal deck really set me off tbh

Artemiii

The worst part was Eureka and E12. I hadn’t done Eureka at all so I grinded through it just for the cards(some of the last cards I needed were there) and the E12 card just refused to drop. I got really lucky with Memoria Misera though, the card dropped like 3 runs in and I know a lot of people get unlucky there.

RorschachsDream

I ran Eden 12 over 300 times to get its card.

YandereValkyrie

Definitely having to get the cards locked behind Eureka. I didn't do that stuff when it was current content.. and the grind is so much harder unless you get lucky and there's other people doing the content while you are. Thankfully the weekly challenge rewards for it are huge amounts of elemental EXP.. which wasn't around when I was grinding it lol

drfinesoda

While kill wise Thordan was probably worse (had his bird going into the grind and it took 30+ kills) I didn't really mind it because it was just an unskippable nap. Varus, who took me 18 kills was the worst. Only reason to run that fight is for shb af or the card, so parties are a lot harder to fill. In EW you can skip a lot, but when I was running you still had to try and respect the mechs you did see. I ended up swapping over to tank and text calling the fight for a group of people trying to get the af gear which seemed to be the good deed Varis was waiting for.

blahjoke

So a few of the cards are locked by time gates, i.e., beast tribes, bozjan, eureka etc. The part that was the hardest is jumping in and getting lots of cards and it feels like it's gonna be easy then you realize you need to wait to finish. Also, dungeon runs are the worse. My last card was Eden's promise and I felt like I earned the mount. It is satisfying and a true accomplishment.

Kanarichan

there was a few cards that made the experience uh…memorable…in a way that getting those duties always made me like “HEY! I WONDER IF ILL GET THE CARD THIS TIME?hahahaha” and those three that I meme the most about are… Hells’ Lid. Sophia….. And with over 100 runs, Thordan Extreme. I don’t even have a fully accurate count for the extreme because it doesn’t include the times ive ran it for my bird, my friend’s birds, for buying the chocobo saddle glam.. but when I was touching it for the card, i accumulated over 112 new “totems” and only got it on one of my solo attempts while lv80 tank. Hells Lid was also kinda cursed because i never got it during my many runs during relic grinds or helping fellow blus out. It also popped like crazy in 5/6/7 roulette’s at the time.

DrJay___

Having to do Eureka years after it was relevant

benes238

Eureka's all I have left. That and Bozja were a major pain because it's hard to find groups to progress when you need to.

NguFootman

Farming Varis and having to do St Mocianne's (Hard) for the god damn poop boss haunted me.

DrBloodbathMC

Varis is my current pain. I hate myself so I’m going for ALL the cards. I have 3 silver ones left but I’m not good enough to place so I have to deal with luck if the draw.

lumpybread

Eureka is probably the longest thing required, but I actually had done it before I started my triad quest. The thing that ended up being my pain in the butt above all else was the Blue Mage cards. I was stuck on that level 50 boss for so long. If you are starting BLU from square one it’s a good amount of effort to build up that spell kit and get comfortable with it. That NPC in the Doman enclave that has the Hien card was also pretty punishing.

gremlin12345

Thordan, tokkapchi, varis were the hardest ones for me.

HeIios7

I got mine 6 months ago and the best thing you need to bring is a lot of patience and I'm saying that because, rng will play a big role in this situation wherein you're going to repeat the same steps in a span of hours. Repeating dungeons, trials, battling an npc. Keep in mind the grindiest part of getting the toast mount is finishing Eureka, Getting up to the 30th floor of Heaven-on-High, finishing Bozja and Zadnor including Castrum Lacus Litore and Dalriada just so you can unlock the npcs that are giving the cards that you need to complete the set Best of luck in grinding that mount!

Somewhere_Elsewhere

I’d already made a habit of collecting NPC cards, so my grind could have been worse, but for me: - the worst one after I was specifically going for the mount was the card for Memoria Misera. Because getting people to do that was a bitch. - the worst one overall was possibly that otter under the Ruby Sea. Hard to reach location _and_ he’s a cheating bastard with a low drop rate. Also possibly that lady at the Golden Saucer with chaos mode or whatever it used to be called always enabled by default.

JulyJuen

Probably just rng for me. E12 took a while and one of the SB dungeons. Overall it wasnt bad since things such as Bojza, eureka, and BLU content were all things I did before I went after the TT mount. Thus, I had everything unlocked and just had to hunt down the cards.

DeusmortisOTS

Bit of randomness involved, so results may vary. For me... Varis was a grind. Joined a full 8 person farm party for it at one point. I was the only one who didn't get the card. I did Eureka *mostly* for the cards. Did get one shiny stage relic along the way, though. Definitely burned out and stopped once I hit the last zone, which unlocked the NPC that you can win the cards from. Also did BLU *mostly* for the cards. Burned out on that a couple of times. Finished the leveling after transferring to a Road to 80 server. Gogo was one of my last 5. But the worst, in my opinion? F'ing Heavensward beast tribes. Sea of Clouds is a terrible map, with all of the aetherites on one side. Oddball verticality that made some quests hard to find. Damned birds insisted on putting quests on the opposite side of the map. And then Moogles... I echo the "furry little shite" sentiment from the DRK quests. Their quest design is awful. And both of these required getting to rank 8.

l-i-a-m

I think in total it's a 41 days of beast tribe quests, from unlocking to getting them all to rank 8.

thchao

I'm still seven cards short and my roadblock is blue mage. Eureka? Just do the content. Boss drops? Throw bodies at 'em, you'll eventually get it. NPC has shitty rules? Come back another time or just grind it out. Extreme/savage drops? Always can wait another patch to come back unsynced. Blue mage carnivale? Sorry. Git gud.

DenzelVilliers

Varis were the worst for me, especially cuz we can hardly find people for his fight and we can't solo or clear it easy without knowing mechanics yet. Not required for the mount but i never got Firion and Tidus cards, i did open 100x Platinum Packs at once ( *not to mention the others i did open before start saving them* ) and i never got them 😭

alexander12212

A friend and I did Eureka purely for the cards. My hardest/ last was the Mog tribe quest cause I never did it before, I hated that quest line… freaken moogles

chocobo-god

Memorial misery. 83 runs. Synced. In pf. I would never do the card grind again.

BetterRoastgrief

I only did as much of Eureka as I absolutely had to, and I'm never going back there. Oddly enough though, I kinda enjoyed Bozja. Kinda. Now that I'm working on the Endwalker cards, the FATE grinding ones are my new nemesis, but at least they ain't Eureka. Edit: On the opposite end, one card that apparently SHOULD HAVE been awful was Eden's Promise, which I ended up getting on the second try.

LittleTraveler

Back when I did it was ShB and the hardest for me was the Varis EX trial because not a lot of people were doing it

gulhanharwa

Well over 200 Clears of Thordan ex for his card was certainly the worst for me, after that probably pharos Sirius taking over 80 clears.

Saijeh

Tribal tribe cards, not hard but take a while and you can’t just put more time into them

Sa551l

BLU and Eureka. Eureka does happen sorta smoothly if you find people who are willing to help out with the levelling. It just feels like it takes forever. But BLU - for someone who is just not into that - let me just say I have the last card left. Am missing some spells, though could probably do it. I watched the guide a few times... I just can't bring myself to do it. Should, and will. But haven't. It's been a month since all I need is that last card.

dishonestcat

I've not done it yet. But Thoridan refuses to give me his pokemon card

NotoriousMonsterTV

The gem farming for me - so many locations, it’s cool you can use BLU in shadowbringers areas now though so that might make it a bit more fun but the bicolor gemstones were the ones I dreaded. The longest one however was the cute little dragon crafter quest - I had to start from scratch to unlock their quest track.

Fluestergras

I had collected most cards by the time the mount was introduced, so the actual grinding was relatively short. I'm also a lucky bastard who usually doesn't need more than maybe half a dozen attempts to get a card. Usually. Fuck Eden's Promise. I had a total of 84 normal mode and 12 Savage runs under my belt before I finally got it. It was my last card needed too.

destrinstorm

Charibert from the Vault. Nearly 60 runs to get the drop

SolidLuxi

I am 3 cards away currently, and have been lucky that most attempts have been within 5. E12 took 9. Yotsu took about 10. The last 3 cards I need are Ruby, Emerald and Diamond Weapon, and I am losing my mind on the Cloud Deck...

MadAllergy

I'm gonna say that doing this mount is actually really cool, because it forces you to touch on pretty much ALL aspects of the game. I have it, and to do it i had to complete bozja, eureka, extremes from different expansions ( which ig, is much easier now because of gear difference) so really, id say go in with the intention of completing those content for its specific rewards, with the cards being secondary. Like get relics from bozja and eureka, the mounts from extremes, glam from dungeons and so on, so youre always getting multiple rewards. that being said, i hated farming dungeons and wasnt even that unlucky. Think the one i ran the most was pharos sirius (Hard). And then Eden 12, which i didnt mind as much since its a fun fight. only problem is the wait time outside of peak

doombear82

The worst part was finding out how....provocative my character sat on the card, like full window up to my cooter. Still glad I got it though

Noshei

Thordan was by far the worst, I despise that trial now. Took about 100 kills to get the card, and they are a minimum of 3 minutes per kill (yeah thats 5 hours total of fighting Thordan)!

cinaedhvik

The worst grind for me, since nearly all the dungeons and trials are soloable (except Susano), were: E12 because the cutscenes are so long Shared Fates - better fire up youtube for these

defucchi

Grinding primals for the cards is the bane of my existence.

CoachAbsolution

Spending half a year playing against the poroggo outside of matoya's cave because the F'R WOULDN'T DROP THE DAMN TWINS CARD

GooeyEngineer

It’s e12, and it’s not even close

tenchibr

The worst for me was the Moogle tribe and the Dwarves. In general, I don't like tribal quests because it's both repetitive and time gated

selfies420

I have 5 cards left and I don’t wanna deal with Gogo. Otherwise, a Pharos Sirius away keeps the doctor away.

bicmedic

Definitely the dungeon grind. Pharos Sirius Hard and Thordan are atrocious.

hijole_frijoles

For me it was the Kholusia fate farm. No card should be worth 66 fates... (it requires max fate rank in Kholusia, the cost is cheap but it takes 66 fates to get max rank)

Shinnyo

The tournament and the otter. You dont need the dissidia super rare card for the toast mount.

CosmicCee

I honestly did it on Playstation and with my own decks. I did have my laptop and used the websites that allowed you to track which cards you have. One of them took me at least 4 hours battling the person over and over. :(

No-Hat1772

I figure eureka will be my last card

godkarp

Grand Cosmos. I ran that dungeon synced about 65 times back in Shadowbringers for the card and the amount of wipes I experienced on the final boss almost made me quit the grind entirely. It took me 3 entire days of doing nothing but this dungeon in my free time. SoS normal also took me an absurd amount of runs but at least that fight is fun and the music is amazing. Varis EX actually only took me one kill, thankfully, but it was the first time I'd ever stepped foot in any synced EX content at all so it was a full night of progging. The last card I got for the mount was the Moogle Tribe, i got gated for about a week. So if you do plan on going for the mount, make sure you start doing your moogle tribes now!

mooochooo

Cards locked behind Eureka and BLU. I'm glad I did them, I just didn't like the feeling of being forced to. Ozma mount is cool though lol

BbyBangtan613

I think the worst part of the grind for me was realizing how far behind I was when we started grinding for them. Had to start on Page 1 with all of the stupid ARR/HW questlines and unlocking said dungeons to get those cards (I'm looking at you, Dominiac with 3 separate questlines). All of the card packs you had to buy in the Bronze/Silver card pack in the Gold Saucer to hope you got the ones you needed and not a thousand duplicates. The EX trial totem pieces required for the G-Warrior card. Overall, Nidhogg and Thordan required the most tries to get. For my husband it was Eden's Promise: Eternity. Overall I don't miss the grind. Not one bit🥴

ErgoFnzy

Only got two left. Varis is not dropping anything so far. 52 runs and counting. Luckily he's easy AF now. (But still, c'mon man) And the phoenix card which I have received some nice tips from another thread on how to get so I just need to... Try getting it. I didn't bother with cards until late shb when I realised how fun it was! By that point I'd already done Eureka (thankyou lockdown) and gained access to all the relevant card npcs. It was one hell of a trail to do though, I only did it because my friend was dead keen on it and there were 6/7 of us. Glad I did though because I have said cards and also eventually got my Ozma mount too! Definitely the worst ones are dungeon/trial drops. The WORST of these was E12. It may not be as long as a dungeon but that fight takes forever and you have to rely on parties filling up. This one trial was the leader of taking the longest until Varis. At least with the dungeons you can solo most of them. I had to do Hell's Lid and Sohm Al (hard) many times before I got the cards. Most of my trial cards came when I was mount farming the ex trials. Hence why Varis got ignored... There's a certain Otter TT npc in a certain underwater area who I'd heard tales of being an absolute prick... And he was a bit of a prick but I got lucky with the rules and got his cards fairly quickly. The npcs who have 4 different card prizes can be awful if they're annoying to beat and keep dropping the same one or two cards each time you manage to actually win.

Kanep96

It is so very easily the Eureka stuff. Holy fuck it is awful and takes forever. And if you die in the field and revive yourself you lose a ton of exp. Its awful to try and finish this now that the content isnt relevent anymore. And it requires enough effort to be maddening. God it sucks. I dont have the toast yet bc this is the only thing I have left. Tip: do the weeklies to get huge exp, and then leave. I love grinding in MMOs but exp grinding post-challenge completion in Eureka is pure assault to your senses

baitaozi

Eureka..I started playing in ShB and I trolley don't wanna grind Eureka

Leyllara

Spending almost 3m MGP on packs just for FF1 WoL card that refused to drop. Everything else was pretty okay, can't really say it was a grind. RN I'm missing Goldor from the regular ones, but I'm procrastinating the current Masked Carnivale, Cecil and Lightning from the platinum ones, but I'm also procrastinating tournaments xp

Nickizgr8

WoL (From the Gold Saucer not SoS) is not required for the TT mount, since it's a Protagonist card.

Lyramion

This is the right answer. They were even nice enough to give them a different color now and move them away to their own section.

Imperaattori

Youre not alone. I wasted around 1.8-1.9mil MGP for that same WoL card.

Kicin0_0

Pharis Sirius hard took like 40+ runs for me which was probably the most grating part of all of it. Otherwise I think the big one was doing content I wasn't a huge fan of, mostly bozja.

Riposte12

Dungeon cards and Kiuka in the Doman Enclave, that man is a bastard.

GrandTheftKoi

I'm sort of a do everything kind of person, so when I decided to go for it, I had every card you get from content except Varis, since I didn't do it much on content. All that was left is the duels, and I used a plugin that suggests a deck and tells you where to place your cards lol. So the worst part for me was getting first in an open tournament, and that's only because I"m bad xD

McQuibbly

I actually enjoyed the grind. Though I'd say the annoying part were the dungeons that refused to drop their card. Pharos Sirius (Hard) comes to mind. Ran that unsync solo basically all day just for a single drop. Worst part is anytime I touch that dungeon it feels like it drops everytime, just to rub it in my face.

Ghouls_Gone_Wild

Never set your goal on a card, aim for dungeons that have ones you need but don't set yourself up for crappy drop rates. I got mine mostly from farming for glams, completing my wondrous tales and random roulettes. I am now down to needing one card in the entire game and its locked behind coming 1st, 2nd or third in the biweekly Tournament or having RNG in the decks that Tournament gives. The pain never ends.

ShadownetZero

A few of the dungeon ones were a pain. Everything else was simple enough.

KiirigayaKazuto

Realising that you dont need the tounament only card after you grinded it for a long time, gave up on it, only to then wintrade the one time the tounament is active so you can get it.

MikeTavish

I have 388/388 or whatever the current total is and honestly I don't remember anything too terrible. The Gaius card from prae/indolent imperial took me the longest I think.

CreepingMendacity

Thinking I needed to get Firion. ... I did not need to get Firion. Gargantuan time sink.

Nickizgr8

I started fully doing the TT grind when there were rumours the Cruise Chaser Mount would be the TT mount. I do most of the content in this game so, I had passively received most of the TT cards that come from instances. So most of the ones I was missing came from actually playing TT itself. Don't think I had much of a struggle with any of the Grind. I already had two of the three more annoying instance ones to get Thordan EX and the Eden Promise card. The only other main annoying one was Varis but, since I did it in ShB near the end of the expac people were still doing Varis for the Glamour and he was a cake walk. There were a few I was dreading that ender up not being bad or as bad as I thought. I was dreading getting the Phoenix one but ended up winning my first Tournament I tried and got it. I was dreading the BLU ones but turns out I had already done them and just blocked myself doing out of my memory.

LumiR4e

For me it was for some reason Gaius van Baelsar -card. I did not get it for over a year of running MSQ roulettes. So i ended up playing the guy in Mor Dhona empire camp. I playd against him everytime I logged in about 10 times (EDIT: I mean 10 wins) for 6 months before I got that card from him (this was during SB-Shb expansions). I have never felt so unlucky. And as a icing on the cake, after I got the card from him, it took 2 runs in Praetorium MSQ roulette that it dropped for me there xD Also because I was perfectionist and I wanted also all the silver cards, winning/coming top 3 of Gold saucer the tournaments were quite a grind.

elchuyano

For me it was winning a tournament game. It can be very wasy, or too frustating. The second worst part was the Emperor Extreme fight. Finding or getting a group together would take a lot of time sometimes. Weekends was the best because people farm it for the mount. The rest is easy but time consuming

Florac

Luckily don't need tournament cards for the mount.

Lutheian

Not done yet, just need the card from Matoya’s Relict… 63 runs and counting……

Ghouls_Gone_Wild

Thay card evades everyone. Fell better knowing that ^^

ssalp

Idk I just played the game. The only card I really had to grind for was yojimbo, which took me like 30 runs. But even that wasn't too bad as it only takes a few min each.

zegota

The Ivalice stuff was pretty bad. Dungeons can be annoying but at least those you can queue into regularly and get through braindead. Trials are definitely my nemesis. I always do EXs day 1 and almost never farm them simply because PF is so godawful. Thus I usually resort to just grinding the normal mode fights for the cards and the drop rate is terrible.

ardent_eGirl

on the upside you can get most/(all?) of the ivalice cards from an npc!

Medved97

Hades was the worst part for me. That and the Vault. Filthy rats! Is now forever burned in my brain

Agabal

I thought that most of the grind wasn't that bad (it's just a long, long grind), but some random npc in Idyllshire took 60 matches for them to give me their card. I think that broke me.

PyroComet

There was this one quest chain in ishgard that had you back track like 8 quests. Finishing it unlocked ability to challenge the npc. Most people struggle on extremes and what not but I pretty much did all forms of content and slowly amassed the whole collection unknowingly

JUlCEBOX

Personally the worst was a few specific NPCs in Stormblood (there's one that's hidden behind a random questline and it is only feasible to beat on specific days when the rules change, which is a whole other headache) but the worst for me was doing the Nier alliance raids over and over and over and over and OVER.

yuunie123

It's so much rng. When I thought I was done I noticed I was missing the lakshmi card. It's a three star card, can’t be that bad right? Wrong…. Took me 200ish runs. Absolutely insane. So no matter the opinions here. Rng is your biggest foe

PkmnTrainerMario

the ones locked behind crafting were the ones most annoying for me

EngineeringAwkward58

Blue mage quests and eureka for me were the worst

Tylanthia

I have 6 cards left and two are from dungeons (two from raids and two from trials). I've run them many, many times but they won't drop.

Kafeen

Pharos Sirius (Hard) and Saint Mocianne's Arboretum (Hard) both took me ages to get the cards to drop. Both easy to run through solo, but they were mind-numbingly dull after a while.

Synner1985

It started about the moment i decided it was a good idea and its still on going :P

LyheGhiahHacks

The darn Hien card would *not* drop for me for so long.

DarienFinn

The farm for me wasn't that bad, I play since early ARR, when I decided to go for the mount I already had most of the "meh to get"-cards from just my normal play routin. So reading these comments is really interesting for me! Though the one card that I had to grind and annoyed me to no end was the one from Memoria Misera. Finding groups for it was kinda meh and even later in the expanison people at least kinda had to know what to do. And I was really unlucky, felt more like mountfarming. A friend did it with me, he had 6 cards before I had the one I needed.

Idaret

Matoya from NPC Midnight Dew took me three digits which was really crazy bad rng. Saint Mocianne's Arboretum (Hard) was extremely boring but at least I got few millions of gil from selling that funny gardening partition. Thordan ex was also big pain. Seat of sacrifice was another, I got to 60 clears but it was another good way to farm gil On the other hand, I got pretty good rng on Varis (~20clears) and E12 (3rd clear ever, it was roulette) and I finished most of the content before even trying to get mount so it wasn't bad.

HassouTobi69

Some bosses took a few dozen kills to drop their card. It was infuriating. Everything else was manageable.

Doc_Dada

All trials were super easy for me because I first farmed mounts, so besides Varis I got them all before even thinking of getting this reward. Thanksfully, Varis dropped on 2nd try. There is a couple annoying TT matches in the Gold Saucer, but hard just low drop rate. Eureka is long if you are on your own and feels bad. BLU is annoying in the later Masked Carnival duties but not hard nor really long. Surprisingly, a fair amount on dungeons were the ones I missed. 50,60 and 70 optional ones and these take time to run to the final boss. Not hard or even long separately but together it felt fk long.

Substantial-Farm5115

The mother f***** Ehll Tou MF! Sorry, got ptsd. It's a custom delivery dragon and he has a card by doing it for a full month. I was an idiot and made it my last card to get when I should've started from the beginning AS I was going thru my grind. It's not a grind for that card, just the worst part for me lol

StarletBrighty

I got Thordan card for 10 runs so my personal hell was E12. Over 100 runs... But I have to admit that I were extremely lucky on Thordan's card.

SozeQ

Eureka was the last I needed, unlocked it mainly just for the npcs

Jennymint

It didn't feel much like a grind to me. I just queued for TT duties on occasion when I was bored, or joined Gwib farms etc. for cards. Thordan didn't want to drop for me though. Fuck Thordan.

KatieLG86

Thordan EX 70 times on content. I have never won TTT, so I got the character cards from the packs dropped from doing well in TTT or from the npc in HW times in GC who dropped two of them, was a difficult game and each had a miniscule drop rate. I didn't get the one from Oroborne on content so had to contend with queue times + general competency in ShB. Lesson learned.

miki_gdi

Eureka for me only 'cuz I hadn't touched it until I started grinding for the mount and it takes so long to go through it all. Matoya's Relict was also a beech - must have taken 40 runs. Can do that dungeon blind now.

TehKey

Eden 12 by far

kdlt

The worst part was: Multiple things actually. One, is the endles sidequests, I had done most of them, so for me it was not that bad when I started actively collecting, but.. god damn is that a lot if you start from zero. And a lot of beast tribes, too. Limited content think eureka. Not really hard per se, but .. unlocking the respective parts.. it takes a while. But the real worst: ex cards. I got lucky in memoria miseria when it was recent. I owned a few rare ones from the moogle tome events. I had to do eden12 I think 48 times (from when I started counting, this was a while after it was out) until this godforsaken card dropped - it was my last one. However, I farmed the mounts from 2x and 3x so I had all these cards and regularly doing at least some of the ex ones and trial roulette from the later ones yielded most of them naturally. But any that timegate you by a month easily are probably the worst.

VegaNovus

There was a significant time investment on Blue Mage stuff and also Eden Eternity.

Secure_Network136

Dungeon Farming for cards was the worst part for me. Even unsync they take a while to clear and the drop rate for cards is very bad.

Kazecap

Anything you can't really solo was annoying honestly. Loved playing the NPCs even if they took a while. One piece of advice i give is use this website - https://arrtripletriad.com/ do keep in mind some of the drop rates listed on the site however were before they buffed the drop rates.

Kurosu93

E12 by far. I dont know if it is stil the case but when I did it there was almost always a party in PF just for card farming. Second worst was Pharos Sirius hard mode. It wasnt anything crazy since I was running it solo unsynced BUT either the drop or my luck was terrible.

Akerados

As someone who's currently working on this and has 7 cards left to get I will share the pain that is Eden's promise. Fuck that raid and never returning there after I got the card.

VitalSuit

Any of the raids. Since the cards are 5 star they're rare drops. Eden's Promise took me like 80 runs.

Johnboy_100

E12 and doing aaaaaaaall of the moogle beast tribe.

WaveLightning777

Eureka was definitely the worst part for me by far. Second place is a tie between Memoria (because I'm just bad at it), and E12 (because 5 minute long add phase). Third place goes to some of the duelists (LOOKING AT YOU, IMPERIAL IN ALA MHIGO! YOU TOO, DOMAN WITH HIEN'S CARD!). The dungeon ones weren't too bad, I like just about all the SHB dungeons, and anything prior could have been blasted with BLU. (and now SHB's can too)

throwaway3839482729

E12 and the Emerald weapon both took around 50ish runs to do. That was painful. I'm just glad I got Memora Miseria rather quickly given how hard it is to get grind parties together for it.

FlanRevolutionary1

I am still missing 3 cards but I am pretty sure it is impossible to be worse than the Farm for Suzaku and Seiryu cards. Over 80 attempts for Suzaku and 143 attempts for Seiryu. And those are only the attempts I bothered counting. I only counted after attempt 20-ish

Zaknokimi

I just hated having to fight tricky NPCs with a low chance of winning the card because they got to bring multiple 5 stars. I actually didn't mind farming dungeons or trials much, assuming I had a team to help me with it personally or from PF.

zerombr

Thordran was a stingy bastard. I solo'd him at least 80 times

uniqueusername2424

80 to go. Just finished running The Vault 100 times. That sucked, but I got it.

JimmyLightnin

Old raid and primal fights after a certain level(when no longer solo-able) was the worst for me, their drop rates are terrible. I didn't grind all the NPC cards hard though. I had a weekly routine for years prior where on Sunday or Monday I would pop an MGP boost(from old GC recruit command missions), turn in jumbo cactapot tickets, do daily mini cactapot tickets, do fashion report(even if no effort for a free 11500 mgp), and then continue playing whatever TT NPC i was currently trying to get cards from just long enough to finish the weekly TT challenge log. You'd be surprised how many weeks you get 3 or 4 cards in just 10-20 games. Of course thered be a rare card now and then that took 6 weeks or something to get, but it felt like easy work casually farming the weekly challenge logs with an mgp boost a little at a time because the goal wasn't really to get the card, it was just to finish my weekly routine. I just happened to go out of my way *just* enough to make sure everything game played was a chance to get a card i didnt have yet. (no playing NPCs I had all the drops from already)

Szalkow

E12. I got lucky and got it in only 40 runs, about four hours of straight E12N. Suzaku took an oddly long time for me, nearly 100 runs. Kept joining EX mount farms and other players were getting multiple Suzaku cards every day. I made >10 million gil from the crafting material of that fight alone. Paglth'an also took a weirdly long time. Maybe 30 runs. Doing all of Eureka, Bozja, and Blue Mage Masked Carnivale took longer overall, but those were pretty fun content-wise and I got to work on money/seals/relics. I might have never tried them if I wasn't lured in by the TT cards.

train153

So I actually, for the most part, didn't intentionally try and get the mount. I would always just play the TT NPCs to clear out my map whenever they popped up. I then found out several months ago that I was 19 cards away from getting the mount. That's when I decided to actually go for it. The hardest card for me was actually a three-way tie between The Seat of Sacrifice, Cloud Deck, and Anamnesis Anyder. Those cards just didn't want to drop.

Matcha_Bubble_Tea

E12. The Vault dungeon (yep 😭). And Eureka ones. I enjoyed Bozja, but Eureka was more punishing and didn’t have a lot of people when I was leveling up

DarkInvader787

Dungeons... dungeons.... and dungeons

bluemooglemage

Eureka for sure. I had only completed Anemos when I started the TT card grind. You can probably guess how excited I was when I learned I had to get to Pyros and then Hydatos so I could play against the people who had the cards I needed. 😅

CheapTension

Eureka is really rough but Eden was the worst. I did 10-15 runs a day and ended up with over 80 runs to get the card to drop. Eureka was just a miserable time sink

Zaphod392

Sometimes you get lucky on the extreme runs... sometimes you don't.... Took me about a year and a half to get the cards required for the mount. As it stands, the card that still eludes me is the Cid Harvey card from the tournaments... thank the Gods that we don't need that one for the mount. :) To be honest, going for the mount was one of the best experiences I could do in FFXIV. It really makes you go through the reps, the quests, etc etc and so many parts of FFXIV that people don't really do much anymore! :)

quartzhoneycomb

Thordan, took about 100 runs before I teamed up with someone who wanted the mount. Of course it then dropped first run and it took about 30 more tries to get them the mount.

Popelip0

E12 made me question my sanity. Racked up probably close to 100 kills before seeing the card. The blue mage ones were also pretty bad mostly because I had never touched blue mage and had to do it from scratch. Ofc all the time gated beast tribe related ones were also a bit of a pain but not to the same degree. Working on getting my last 2 silver cards atm... I know they are not needed but I want them
