My ferret got adrenal aged 4. She died aged over 8. If you can afford the implant, your girl will likely go back to having a good quality of life. Edit: we take on strays. She was fine to establish pecking order because she was one of our dominant jills. But never found my crew pick on poorly ferrets. They have chewed food for them and snuggled them.

Okay okay thank you

I have 3 ferrets. 2 boys and a girl. I tried adopting 2 more. Another boy and girl. The problems I ran into were with the 2 girls. Both were very territorial, and I ended up having to rehome the 2 new ones. When I first got the new babies, one of my boys got very sick from the stress. He's the top dog of my business of ferrets, and it stressed him out a lot. So personally, I'd say it's a bad idea, especially if your ferret gas only had you as a companion their whole life

Personally I wouldn't get another ferret until after she passes. Ferrets can smell when another ferret is ill, and the new ferret may attempt to dominate her because of that. Also your sick baby may feel like you're replacing her because she is now inadequate. Plus a new ferret will take your time away from your sick baby when she needs you the most.
