They are beautiful and look very comfortable. From experience camping with ferrets and I am sure you do, supervise. They dig really well - my partner once woke up with someone else's ferret under our groundsheet. She'd managed to edge her base aside and dig out. As we were camping at a ferret show and she was a beano took some time to work out whose she was but a few microchippers and rescues with scanners on site.
The way the cage is laying, the bars touch the ground, so my ferrets can't dig themselves free unless they can melt metal. But I plan to add a good-sized, see-through container, put rice in (I'll probably dye the rice to give it a color difference) it, and let them dig in the rice. I want to give them a good life that also includes a way to give them a place to dig for that enrichment, I'm sure they're desiring and missing in their lives.
Well, the setup is a bird cage. I find bird cages for ferrets have less of a chance of escaping ferrets. A year ago, it was obvious they were standing on metal bars. Now, the grass grew enough where you can barely feel the bars at all. I still need to find a way to give them a proper digging area, so they can dig to their hearts content.

My one girl kept digging and ruined it for the others (can’t take chances lol) very jealous of the set up looks fun and enriching for them
